Alien and Aliens top 10 movies all time in the history of movies hands down.
Just watched this film for the first time a week ago, and I have to say I really loved it.
Play Alien: Isolation on stream!
Alien: Isolation does a brilliant job of building on the aesthetic of this film, and it's completely terrifying. The first time you encounter the alien was so upsetting to me I had to quit the game. Never played it again. By encounter I mean you're cornered and have to escape.
You really should play it again. The first encounter is by far not the scariest part of the game.
I've played the game multiple times and.... well... yeah. Sometimes I get a little bit panicky but it's all controlled.
Getting control over one's anxiety, stress and shutting down the urge to run is the hardest part of learning to play the game. The first part of the game is definitely more difficult in terms of the amount of stealth needed.
I give the game props for doing this mostly without jumpscares. XD
Try playing it in VR! I have never spent so much time in a locker before (or since)

The director’s cut for this definitely involved Scott, didn’t have a sex scene, and wasn’t an hour longer :P
I haven't watched the original Alien in 10 years, this is a treat
I love how Mother's room sounds like the breathing from the Queen in Aliens (the mother Xenomorph).

Gieger's art was full of dark eroticism, the director saw his work in his art book Necronomicon if i remember right there is an early version of the alien in that book

While Scott prefers the theatrical cut, he did oversee the "director's cut" as he didn't like what they proposed for a longer cut. So he made an "alternate cut" that is actually a little shorter than the theatrical. It was Alien 3 where the director, David Fincher, had no input on the special edition cut; he barely had any input on the theatrical version either.
Fardawg David Fincher got so much shit from the producers during his whole involvement with Alien 3. I’d hate to be in his position
@@Tobytyty101 Alien 3 was a prime example of too many cooks in the kitchen throughout the whole process. They wanted a puppet, not a visionary director.
I love the original Alien. Easily one of my favourite movies, maybe even my all time favourite.
The director's cut was not an hour longer, it is about a minute shorter than the theatrical. There is also no sex scene in the DC. I'm disappointed in Rick on this one.

@@DeanStrickson If the workprint was available to watch, like it is with Blade Runner, then it would make sense to confuse them, but I only know of fan edits trying to reconstruct it from deleted scenes. And there is no existing sex scene, that was only in a script and a short screen test. He was basically bashing a non-existent version and confusing it with the DC. The problem is that these kinds of things tend to spread and get repeated. I'm not actually mad at him, Rick is my favorite crew member, but there tends to be a lot of misinformation around here and it is said as if they know them as facts rather than guesses or possibilities. It wouldn't have taken long to get a refresher over what is and isn't in the DC before filming, rather than just going off memory. That's a pet peeve of mine as people can tend to trust "facts" that get thrown around. I've seen it way too many times over the years.
Fun fact about this movie, it has had the most College/Professional Essays/Papers written about it of all time, beating out movies like "The Godfather" and "Psycho"

ALIEN is a perfect blend of sci-fi and horror while ALIENS is a bombastic action film. Terminator 1 is like ALIEN and T2 is like ALIENS. And ALIEN 3 and T3 are not well liked and the following sequels weren't well received either.
Alien 3 is a lot different than T3
U might hate on alien 3 but u have to amint that alien 3 is original and T3 is a redo or parody of T2
I'd watch Alien 3 over Terminator 3 any day
Yes the Aliens can breath under water, they do it in Alien Resurrection. They are a perfect species by genetic design.

I love Alien, but Aliens is one of my favorite movies of all time. I've probably seen it dozens of times. I think it would make a great reaction/commentary. More interesting characters, great set pieces, and in general there's a lot more going on plot-wise. It's definitely a Terminator to Terminator 2 level escalation.
I wonder if they had been called something like Alien Encounter and Alien Encounter II, what that woukd have done?

More memorial characters doesn’t mean better, what makes the original alien cast better is how simple they are, its kinda surreal of how normal the characters are of being in space
Alien has better set design because of how the atmosphere and set work together so well also the design of everything alien is one of the best ever
I like aliens but sadly its effects is very old looking now like with the ship flying and others examples also its look is kinda generic
Ur right about aliens having alot more going on with the plot but sadly it loses its great atmosphere, tone and overall theme
Also having more plot doesn’t mean better like 2001 a space odyssey has very simple characters and story but everything is spectacular of its look and feel
im not saying ur opinion is wrong they are both great movies but I just feel alien is a masterpiece of just being a movie and aliens is a masterpiece of action but thats it

Oh hell yes! One of the greatest films ever made.
Went to an event last weekend that showed the first four Alien films (8 pm to 5:30 am).
Would have been nice to have some of this then...
It's crazy the amount of models and glass painting used in that movie...the effect are almost immortal because of it ! That movie is 50 year old and barely looks old...There is a reason why it's considered one of the greatest Sci-Fi and Horror movie of all time ! There is almost no weakness to it, the first act is such an amazing build up !
Veronica Cartright (Lambert) explains that those aren't her legs that the Alien's tail goes through. Its unused footage of Brett's death. She also said that those aren't her bare legs either. Lambert was originally supposed to die of fright.

I really recommend a playthrough of Alien Isolation! Its a magnificent game.

It’s been theorised that The Alien and the Blade Runner Franchises take place in the same Universe so if you wonder what earth looks like during Alien it might be like How it is in Blade Runner 2049.

still my favourite movie in the franchise and its got a young War Doctor in it he was well known in the UK after his role in I Claudius and the Naked civil servant ( he also voiced Aragon in the cartoon version of lord of the rings) p.s i think its oil they are hauling

You want something funny about that movie ? If it wasn't for the failed attempt at making Jorodowsky's Dune, that movie might not have existed, or at least at this level ! HR Giger, the creator of the creature was found by the crew of Dune's for the design of the Harkonnen and Dan O'Bannon who worked on the script for both movie remembered his crazy desings ! In fact many of the design from the design book from Jorodowsky's Dune are found in many Sci-Fi movie from the 80's and even 90's with Contact for exemple...also some who worked on Dune crew endend up working on the Star Wars crew as well...to many, Jorodowsky's Dune failure as molded the Sci-Fi as we know it now ! There is a documentary about that failed movie and it's fascinating how a failure could influence so much a genre ! Also Ridley Scott at a point was supposed to take Dune in the 70's but his brother just died that year...who knows what would have happened ?! He directed Alien after his mourning period and it gave him the drive to do more movie !

Rick, the comics are now outside canon pretty much like Star Wars EU was with the new movies, that was a real bummer to me and the rest of the xenomorph-yautja universe, as the new movies eliminated the whole shared universe and the Xenowars on earth and the periphery.
Blade Runner FInal Cut is the last one he did and the one considered the complete one...there is a reason why they didn't do another one after...

therealmfbtl The mechanics were barely willing to do anything without bonus pay, and Ash disobeyed protocol. So they really weren’t doing their jobs correctly.

I love you guys, you know I do.. but.. if you're gonna do a commentary you have to do your homework. You were shooting inaccurate facts left and right.. and making uncomfortably long pauses (although I understand is a slow burner). If you filled yourselves with information and fun facts beforehand it would make for a funner, more relaxed experience, both for you and us.
Great movie, poor reaction. Childish 'v' obsessions aside there was a lot of 'Morris the explainer' chatter rather than reactions. A lot of it was from future releases in the franchise that were not even contemplated with this movie. Movies of this era rarely planned for sequels until after proven success. I saw it in the theater when it was released and did not need someone to explain the characters motivations or add in information that, at the time, did not exist. We watched in silence to hear the key dialog. Reacting as a group is great but stick with what is in front of you at the time.
Good that this is clearly a movie commentary and not a reaction then. Also I fail to understand how analyzing Giger's eroticism he expressed in his artwork is childish. I mean its totally okay if you dont like it and express that, I just think if you wanted a reaction, why would you pick a video thats titled commentary.
