As an owner of a Job 1 Mach-E, I've been waiting to see what your all's review of the car will be. Glad you all like it! I do have a few notes of anyone wanting context from an owner. 3:01 - The divider was standard and not an option. I had to get a special tool, but I removed the barriers, but kept the left-most barrier back in. A small space for bottles or other small stuff and a large space for whatever. 3:23 - The drain is automatic; there's no button to push. Works wonderfully! 9:29 - The three modes are distinct from each other; they are not placebo. When you test drive, know what modes you're driving to properly evaluate. I personally use Whisper in residential (< 30mpr) and Engage everywhere else. 11:37 - There's three different sound profiles depending on drive mode. These are only internal as there's only one external (and federally mandated) external noise. 15:01 - A note that all Mach-Es (except certain Select trims) are capable of having Blue Cruise. There were some legit growing pains as Ford was fixing how they distribute OTAs. Obviously new buyers will have that as an option, as long as you're not getting a Select w/o the technology package. 15:17 - The only point I respectfully disagree. Haven driving on I-5 between the Bay Area and LA, the UV filtering on roof is surprisingly well done to the point of unnoticeable. Even my passengers haven't even noticed any difference. But to each their own. 16:09 - Completely agree. I'd dissuade anyone from getting a Select trim. The features that are on Premium and above are what make the car outstanding. To note, GT only adds features for performance of the car and GT branding. Wonderful for folks desiring that level of performance out of a car. But if you're like me and don't need that, the Premium trim's the way to go. 17:07 - As a note, the tax incentives will shuffle a lot once the Inflation bill is signed. Some context for me and my car: 2021 Mustang Mach-E Premium Trim, Extended Battery, RWD. Most of my driving is city driving, but I have done road trips from the Bay Area to LA and back a number of times. Charging almost exclusively with an at-home Level 2 charger.
It’s a bit of a joke to me how ford doesn’t just put “blue cruise” into everything, nor does GM with its drivers assists. Except for the silly no hands on the wheel, a 20k Golf from 2014 does more than a blue or super cruise car, not to mention a 2005 Mercedes. Just those sold in Europe, never was available in the US though. And here they’re holding back for some reason as if it was some innovative or advanced technology only available for the more expensive cars. If they had put it in everything, people would stop believing the mediocre stuff Tesla has is any good.
@@MicahMuzio +1 on the glass roof. In 100F temps and direct sunlight in the desert, it was surprisingly unremarkable. Tesla glass roof on the Model 3 is a different story though.
My only issue with my Mach E was the rear wiper arm, I had to delete the rear wiper arm and it looks 10000 times better now. Rest is just breathtaking ❤️❤️❤️
I have a 2022 Premium 4 wheel drive..Xtended battery...Only had to charge it a couple times but when I did I got over 300 miles on each charge....I have not charged it 100 % yet...There are lots of options on Amazon for Sunshades for the glass roof....Very easy to install and remove.Rught around 50$..
Great Review Muzio’s, great use of “leather slit” and “vestigial” You’ve done a lot to sell me on the Mustang E. Still waiting to see what the Equinox EV will be and incentives next year but it’s on my list now. Thanks!!
As an owner of of a 2021 Mach E (CA Route 1 trim) it's a fantastic car. The styling was what drew me to the car. It's just a good looking car. And the range was a pleasant surprise. EPA rated at 305 but I consistently get between 330-360 depending on temp and city/highway mix. Regarding the frunk (3:01), for 2022 there are no dividers. The dividers are standard in the 2021 version. I removed them to take advantage of the whole space.
Just wanted to say, you two seem like such an awesome couple and a perfect match! Followed Micah from KBB and now love how happy and excited Evie gets during these reviews. As someone who just had their first little one, it’s great to see videos involving my passion of cars that also showcase a loving family! Keep it up and thanks for all the reviews!
Right when you asked about how it looks, the shot makes the car look smaller than it really is. And i liked it! If it was 3/4 sized and lower to the ground, maybe less family friendly but should be a cool little hatch
I’ve had my Mach-E for a little over 3 months and it’s such a good car. Lot of fun to drive around, doesn’t look like an egg, practical when I need it. I know car dorks are mad about the badging but like, I wasn’t ever gonna buy a mustang. And people who would still can.
Just added the 2022 Select trim as our family car last month. Very lucky and speedy working with our local dealer to get our hands on one (and maybe overpaid?). Stacked with features, including memory seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, rain sensing wipers. It puts our Audi A7 (now former car) to shame on all fronts. Great car with a beautiful interior and a blast to drive. All driving modes are incredible and do not sacrifice on acceleration - rather Whisper mode is more than sufficiently zippy, and just gets better and better-er. Does Select trim offer all the tech? Maybe not, but one does get a bit of tech fatigue from too much gadgetry, and so much of it goes unused anyway. Like the drive modes, Select is excellent, and the upper trim levels just get excellent-er and excellent-erer. Great review, Muzio fam!
Had one of these on a 24 hour test drive offered by Ford UK recently. I was genuinely impressed - and hadn’t expected to be. I like the way it blends being a regular car, with the ‘high tech’ attributes expected of an EV these days. I’ve also had a Model 3 and a Model Y (both Hertz rentals) for 48 hours each, and was left decidedly underwhelmed by both. Example: the Tesla has no regular blind spot monitor; instead you’re expected to look inside the cockpit, often in the opposite direction to which you’re moving (ie moving left, looking right) which is just counter-intuitive. Couple that with Tesla’s proprietary software set up - no CarPlay for example - and I’d take the Mach E every time. Just don’t make me call it a Mustang…
The ideal second car. Range isnt an issue if you charge at home, and take the ICE vehicle on long trips. This looks way better than the Model Y, seems much more intuitive to use, and costs $7-10k less when equally equipped. It also should still qualify for the $7500 tax credit, unlike the Ioniq5 and EV6. Just good luck being able to order one at MSRP, and even better luck finding a used one that isnt marked up to $65k+ if you want one now.
That "kick to open" tailgate isn't on the 2022; It was one of the features cut. You mention on other cars it doesn't work very well. Could be why it was removed from the Mach-E, but it could just be chip supply issues. My 2022 is being built as I type this. Hopefully taking delivery in only another month!
Too hot in central CA. Guess I could get an aftermarket tint to increase the pano roof uv protection if I needed to but in general these shadeless glass roofs are not well thought out.
I had one, nice car, recalls ruined my experience, sold it. Now I have a Genesis GV60 Performance. Sadly it has a warped rear spoiler which will be swapped out for a new one this week.
Ford could have done a better job on the front end styling, otherwise the styling is okay but not great. 9:12 "quarter window" Yeah, it's called that because it is about the size of a quarter (25 cents) 😒 As always, great video and editing, fun and entertaining. Thank you, Muzio Family!
Just an FYI if you are looking to get a ‘22 premium model MME, two of the features presented here (foot activated lift gate and active park assist) are likely pulled due to chip shortage. Some of the earliest production might have them, my March built one still have park assist but foot activated lift gate is no longer available.
Right now I think the MME is the best looking car in the segment. I really like driving mine and the range has actually increased since the first day I picked it up.
You missed 2 key things. (1) Ground clearance, less than a mustang coupe negating much of its suviness; this thing will easily high center where/when other EV suvs will not. (2) charging speed is in kW; kWh denotes battery capacity. Great review though! Maybe talk about price vs the competition?
In the early 1960s I would consider what cars of today would be like. Almost universally I feel cars today are a huge disappointment or step backwards. This electric Mustang really is what I would have hoped cars would advance to. The future is here today.
Finding fast charging stations in Toronto area is not fun. Most are 50kW or lower. The gov'ts up here go on and on about going green but I see almost no investment. As Stephen King said, money talks, BS walks. I like the Mach E but it feels like to me that they've made the battery sizes either too small or too big. Up here the premium Mach E is 10k more than a top trim Kia EV6, Ioniq 5 or ID4 AWD top trim.
Nit-picking here, but please keep the units consistent and not typoed (kw instead of kW etc.). At 80 % the charge curve on this drops off the cliff from like 80 kW to under 15, so 80-100 takes forever. Not uncommon, but worth a mention.
Great review, except it needs more rainbows :) For some inexplicable reason, the sea turtle Crush from Finding Nemo came to mind when the definition of "Micah Muzio" flashed on the screen.

I didn’t like this car when it came out because they put a mustang badge on it. But that was so stupid of me. Cuz now I really want one but can’t find one below $70G Canadian :(
I think it would have went over better if they would have made a mustang a 2 door sports car or rebranded it to a new name either way its a good looking ride
I don't understand why electric car makers keep insisting on reinventing the door handle. A terrible idea if you use your vehicle in ice and snow. I guess it's just in case the cold weather range reduction wasn't annoying you enough.
Very soon, both Mach E and Model Y will qualify for a $3500 Federal Credit and no more. Probably. The new legislation for the US Federal EV Tax credit is a convoluted mess. And ZERO Credit for the Ioniq 5, EV6 or GV60.
Great review. Love the style, design, and value. But, the most recent behavior of the Ford dealerships price gouging has encouraged me buy from another brand.
As an owner, I have a slightly different experience with the hatch. Ours is finnicky in getting it open, and that cargo cover is hot garbage. No thanks. :-) The car is amazing though. We drove ours from Cleveland, OH, to Desting FL, then to Orlando to finally go back to Cleveland. Best road trip car we've owned over all. Love this thing . . . hell, I even fit a real big tub in the back, so it's surprisingly practical.
@@MicahMuzio Sure! Basically, if you have the windows open, it flaps around in the wind and unhooks itself. If you bump it while you're loading groceries in, it comes off one of the hooks. If you catch a breeze with the hatch open, it can pop off (you may think I'm exaggerating, but these are all real things that happened to me). :-) If you pop into the Mach-E Forums or FB owners' groups, it's a pretty common complaint. It's one of the VERY few features I dislike about the interior. I have the exact trim you tested, by the way (even the same color). My only other complaint about the interior is that I don't have a dedicated button to pop the rear hatch, which would be nice to have. There's a mod for it that I may do some day if they don't fix that in the infotainment software. We've got about 13,000 miles on the car now (got it at the beginning of Jan) and we've taken it on a pair of road trips (the FL trip being the longest). Best daily driver I've ever owned, and best family car I've ever owned. We're big fans :-)
I removed the batteries from mine and replaced it with a nuclear reactor from a ballistic submarine the Navy was selling. The zero to 60 is now .000000014 of a second. I never have to recharge and the nice thing is I can power all of my neighbors homes for a 5 block radius and I only charge them $ 20 a month. Best investment I ever made.
Ugh, had to kick us 22 model year folks while we're down did ya? They removed kick-to-open for the tailgate mid-production. Those darn 21s got it made! Lol
So I really like this car. And want one. The only thing holding me back is that charging on the road situation. Ford, please invest in your charging infrastructure. I make 3-4 outta town trips a year and Tesla is the only car company at the moment that gives me confidence to take those trips. I'd just prefer the Ford as a car.
As pretty as it looks, that glass roof with no sunshade is a deal breaker for me. Maybe if I didn't live in Florida where it's usually hot and sunny, it might not be so bad. As it is, my car with no sunroof and dark tinted windows still has too much heat coming in. 🤨 Also, I'm not passionate about the name, but I will always think of a Mustang as a 2 door car, so this is simply the "Mach-E" to me.
I live in TX with sustained sunny days above 100 degrees and the glass roof has been great. I was nervous at first but no more-the glass is superior to my friend’s Tesla glass roof. My MachE car cabin stays cool with no glare while driving.
$15 for 100 miles? Not much a savings there, gas car 20 mpg would cost $20, or 30 mpg would cost $15. Seems like you are paying more for an EV with little savings on fuel cost.
It's Ford's eye tracker for their Level 2 driving assists (BlueCruise). In other words, it will steer, accelerate and brake for you on the freeway so long as you're keeping your eyes on the road. Cameras can see the infrared LEDs in the eye tracker, but humans can't.
Great review, the only thing that holds me back from getting one is charging stations, rather it be lack of stations or issues with them working. I rather the Kia or Hyundai solely because it charges fast very fast. And no I would never ever consider a Tesla.
Agreeded. Unless you are able to charge at your home every day, a Tesla is really the only electric car to buy simply because of the charging network. Long distance driving anything but a Tesla can be risky. Though, once charging stations get better, Tesla's market share should start to fall. I would never buy a Tesla either but it's the only option when driving outside the battery range.
I can't wait for electric cars to get more reasonably priced. Even in the used market these days, they're awfully pricey. I don't want to waste time with a compliance car living in Minnesota...those cars quickly become pretty useless in winter.
Micah based his third party charging stations from one charger. If you get a lot of people complaining about third party charging stations, you know its an issue they willnever fix.
Leather slit . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . dirty. So, you need a new goal, guys . . . at 120K subscribers, you will do a helicopter review as though it were a car?
It seems like a nice electric SUV. But it’s no Mustang. Being born and raised in the suburbs of the Motor City I guess I’m a purist. No sun shade is a deal-breaker for me. Not just because of the heat or brightness, but also because of my past skin cancer. I’m not convinced the tinted glass roof will block the UV rays as well as a sun shade.

If you catch a breeze with the hatch open, it can pop off (you may think I'm exaggerating, but these are all real things that happened to me). :-)
If you pop into the Mach-E Forums or FB owners' groups, it's a pretty common complaint.
@@QMaverick1 Awesome rundown. Thanks for explaining!
Tell me more about the leather slit 😁😄😄😄
Very nice!
Those are some very suggestive latch covers 😳👀😂
🫣
Ugh, had to kick us 22 model year folks while we're down did ya? They removed kick-to-open for the tailgate mid-production. Those darn 21s got it made! Lol
So I really like this car. And want one. The only thing holding me back is that charging on the road situation. Ford, please invest in your charging infrastructure. I make 3-4 outta town trips a year and Tesla is the only car company at the moment that gives me confidence to take those trips. I'd just prefer the Ford as a car.
Everybody: PATREON! 🌈☁️
Excellent review as always. Looking forward to the Ioniq 5 video!
As pretty as it looks, that glass roof with no sunshade is a deal breaker for me. Maybe if I didn't live in Florida where it's usually hot and sunny, it might not be so bad. As it is, my car with no sunroof and dark tinted windows still has too much heat coming in. 🤨
Also, I'm not passionate about the name, but I will always think of a Mustang as a 2 door car, so this is simply the "Mach-E" to me.
"Leather slit" Missed the Iguana again.. lol
Just wish ford would drop the mustang name on this it’s a Mach e period
Does this still qualify for the $7500 tax rebate with the new Inflation Reduction Act?
I would never buy a car without a sun shade. I doubt the glass filters out all the sun's harmful rays. Otherwise nice car.
What are the red blinking lights behind the steering wheel?
It's Ford's eye tracker for their Level 2 driving assists (BlueCruise). In other words, it will steer, accelerate and brake for you on the freeway so long as you're keeping your eyes on the road. Cameras can see the infrared LEDs in the eye tracker, but humans can't.
@@EUC-lid That's amazing. Thanks for responding Adam.
Better quality than Tesla for sure looks sick too
lucid parked next to them charging
Love the vehicle, but Damn… who at Ford had the idea to name it Mustang? Fail. 🤪
I can't wait for electric cars to get more reasonably priced. Even in the used market these days, they're awfully pricey. I don't want to waste time with a compliance car living in Minnesota...those cars quickly become pretty useless in winter.
Ones with a large battery and a heat pump are the ones to look for, when you do look for one. The hit of winter is far smaller.
Super 😊
Leather slit .. classic. LoL
I chose an EV6 over the Mach-E for one feature you didn't even mention: Mach-E lacks ventilated seats.
Ford explains why. Preconditioning your vehicle.
Not the leather slitussy
Micah based his third party charging stations from one charger. If you get a lot of people complaining about third party charging stations, you know its an issue they willnever fix.
Congratulations on your wife being pregnant again, 2 is always better than 1
Leather slit . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . dirty.
So, you need a new goal, guys . . . at 120K subscribers, you will do a helicopter review as though it were a car?
I kinda enjoy the Mache E styling. I just don't think of it as a Mustang, just a Mach E.
I don't care what Ford, or anyone else, says, that is NOT a Mustang. The Mustang is a 2+2 pony car, not a sedan or SUV.
Lmao. It’s been three years. You’re just gonna have to get over this. No one cares.
Touch grass. Nobody who matters cares.
This is a gorgeous vehicle. I'd buy one in a second if Ford made a non-electric version.. but I guess that defeats the purpose lol
4:12 Leather lips or leather mouth would have also been accepted. 😜
Leather slit 😂
1:44 Here is what proves this is not a Mustang but actually a rebadged Escape. You fit in the back seat? NOT A MUSTANG!!!
so tru bout rite aide long receipt lol

I will give you free advice that is very valuable and expensive and cannot be bought with money and gold. But I will give it to you for free and you will benefit from it in the future. The basic condition is that you accept it, apply it and believe my words. The advice is: Life has no meaning if you are not a Muslim and follow the true religion of God. Convert to Islam, the true religion of God ,
2021 Ford Mach-E. No Mustang here, lol.
Not a Mustang.
Styling : it's an incredibly bland-looking car which has about as much resemblance to the mustang design lineage as I do.
If I wanted to waste money on an EV I'd probably look at the Mach-E, but then I'd have to clean out my garage so I could charge the silly thing.
It still shouldn't be called a Mustang
That is the reaction they intended.
You still should get over it.
@@llaughridge lol why?
