I see it all the time, people pick on teslas for their seat, mirror and glove box through the screen. Profiles are in the cloud, meaning I can get into any model y and my setting will automatically be applied. I have had a model y for 12 months and my wife and I have not once needed to adjust anything. It's a genuine smart car. And when was the last time you opened a glovebox.......
Great review. The Mustang looks really good. But the review pushes me towards a Tesla. I am a Tesla model y owner 2022 Y and I purchased one for the price of energy over price of fuel for my long commutes to work per week. The display has got a lot better since the last updates, high beam is now awesome and increases the vision prior to standard headlights. Like a phone you need to know where to find things and once you do, it becomes natural and being close to you you’re not out of distance to m scroll , as well as being able to add favourites to your screen. I found rear window fine. My dislike it the turning circle.
Thanks for the comparison. The Ford seems a just little worse than the Tesla in almost evey single aspect. (Except the range perhaps, but Model Y LR - which would've represented a fairer comparison given the Mach E's price - would do much better there) With Tesla's supercharging advantage, Model Y is the clear winner for me.
Like it or not, the wood on the dash is actually real (the white interior doesn't get it though). It comes up pretty well with wood furniture polish 🙂. Thankfully it's gone in the new Model 3 'Highland', so presumably days are numbered in the Model Y also.
Hey, I thought the 2024 Tesla doesnt have parking sensors, just camera.. or is that the model 3 only? I test drove the 3 LR, went well. but the BYD is better.
You have to look across and down to see your speed on every Tesla. Why no heads up display on cars that are supposed to be tech heavy?. At least the Mustang has a sort of instrument screen in your line of view..that’s not enough to forgive it for butchering a classic name though.
In the Mustang you need to look down, in the Tesla you need to look left. Third party instrument screens and heads up displays are available for Teslas if you want though.
If you are the sort of driver who checks the side rear view mirrors reasonably frequently, you can check your speed on the way to rotating your eyeballs to the far mirror.
Nothing beats a model Y, most practical, safest car, & getting better over time (as any other tesla). Ford still has a loooooooong way to go, but they're on the right track
I am still in two minds if all-electric vehicles really are the true long-term replacement for ICE vehicles, particularly when fossil fuels still produce the bulk of the world's electricity supply that powers the manufacture of, and fuel for, EVs. I would rather see manufacturers invest in fuel cell vehicles. Having written that, a really good comparo guys - well done.
Trust me, battery EVs ARE definitely the future. Hydrogen will not be. Take a look at how this dismally failed in Norway where the majority of vehicles are BEVs. Buy the car YOU want to drive. Simple. If an EV doesn't work for you then stick to a fossil car.
Why do they always use this weird measuring system without putting a little subtitle translating the measurement I have no idea what people are talking about in these videos!
The Seal is a sedan. The Model Y is an SUV style, so it suits a different market. Personally I prefer the look of the new Model 3 over the Y, but I bought the Y for a number of reasons such as more room and a boot that allows large items to be easily loaded that a sedan wouldn't. Also Tesla's technology is still superior to BYD - at this stage anyway.
I am currently driving from the Sunshine Coast to Broom and back in my 2013 FJ Cruiser towing our Jayco caravan. I top up in 5 minutes including credit card payment not stupid app payment. This trip is impossible in an electric venicle.
I have a black 2015 FJ cruiser (3" lift, 33" tyres etc) and a Tesla model y.... Both for different reasons. The FJ sucks for 95% of daily use compared to the Tesla for me lol.
Congrats sir, you just described most cars. but at least the Tesla model Y is the safest car, the most practical, and to top it off it gets better over time thanks to all sorts of features & improvements through over the air software updates, can't say the same about any other cars 🤷😂
Cheapest secondhand model Y on carsales right now is a 2022 $46,000 with 110,000km. Brand new driveway is $60,000 in NSW. Might get to 50% in another two or three years if you're lucky
Overrated and overpriced. Bad investment on any EV cars. Those guys here reviewed any ev car , has no understanding of resale and the high cost of living in Australia.
If you're buying a brand new car thinking it's an investment (EV or otherwise) you're seriously kidding yourself. People buy cars for all sorts of reasons, not to make money out of them. I absolutely LOVE my Model Y, best decision I've ever made. I don't care about the depreciation as I'm not looking at selling it. It's a fantastic car to drive and costs me almost nothing to charge (I have solar). It has the best stock sound system I've ever heard too.
@@Barry-26 Shouldn't be any need to replace the battery, they're good for well over 500,000km with less than 20% degradation. Plus being an LFP chemistry battery it will outlast the car anyway.
@@Barry-26 Not hard to believe because it's already happening out there. I personally know a ride share driver with a Model 3 with over 300,000km on it, no issues at all.
Big thanks to you gents! I was leaning towards buying a Mach E but you've convinced me to go with the Model Y with your comprehensive comparison 👍
yeah i was leaning towards the mach e but the model y just has an edge in almost everything else

So I guess you must really enjoy the vinyl upholstery?
Fascinating how far ahead tesla is in terms of efficiency. Mach E, with a 25% bigger battery, only barely exceeds the Model Y (RWD)'s real world range

Good review overall, too many numbers sometime (hard to compare with) but globally nice to watch thanks.
They both look great in Red! I think Model Y is a better all-around car though. Thanks Drive team for this comparison.

I own the Y, and drove the Mustang Mach-e in NZ for a week.
So much missing in the Ford.

Mach E is just a better over all car, better built quality, better service, better range
Mustang is a beautiful car! Model Y is a very ugly egg shaped car!
Comment section is filled with Tesla fan boys. Model Y is trash with their build quality and Ford has access to the supercharger network.

Approximately 40% of an inch…
2.54 centimetres = 1 inch.

Yeah nah no thanks. Loses 50% value the moment you drive it out of the showroom. Quite literally in today's market too.
This isn’t true. Resale values are Toyota level, thanks to price wars and dummies like you that read fake news but it’s not 50%.
