    I have watched a lot of auto repair videos over the years, and these are definitely one of the best produced. Sue does a fantastic job of explaining what she is doing, and what issues you may run into. The video production is also excellent. Unlike most it clearly shows what is being worked on, doesn't bounce all over the place and doesn't leave you watching the mechanic work in the dark.To Sue and the videographer thank you very much for the excellent tutorial, you are setting the standard..

    Thank you so much! Sue does a great job with these tutorials. She makes everything look so easy. I've just recently ordered from 1A and very pleased with my order.
    I use the Haynes Repair Manual in conjunction with the tutorial and want to point out just one thing. It's neither a complaint not a critique, simply some additional info. According to the Haynes Manual, the bracket bolts securing the bushings should be torqued to 35 ft lbs & the link nuts torque to 31 ft lbs.
    This information is found in the Haynes Repair Manual for the Mazda 3 2004-2011 (red M3 on front cover), chapter 10 - Suspension and steering systems, page 10-2 under header Rear Suspension/Rear stabilizer bar.... bracket bolts & link nuts.
    Hopefully I'm not misleading anyone hete, please correct me if so am. Thanks Sue & 1A!!

    Would you advise replacing the sway bar bushings if you're replacing the sway bar links?

    • @kwbalance108
      @kwbalance108 5 лет назад

      Not neccessary unless the bushings are making noise (pull the swaybar side to side) or look worn out. But you can do them while the bar is disconnected.

    I just got an alignment done on my Mazda and they told me my stabilizer links(same as sway bar links I assume?) are bad and make a slight noise when driving on bumps. They didn't seem too worried about it to tell me I should have them replaced. They were able to do the alignment even still. Will I need to have an alignment done after replacing the sway bar links? And is it still safe to drive till I can get it fixed? Slight nocking noise when going over gutters. Thanks so much for your amazing videos.

    • @tylerrobbins9126

      No you will not need an alignment after, Sway bar end links hardly effect handling. Mine snapped off and I didn’t even notice anything was wrong until I jacked it up

    Ohh thank you for this educational video about "how to remove rusted metal parts?" And that is to use self locking pliers. I have a rusted 14mm nut and needs to get hold by an 5mm allen, then rotate my 14mm wrench opposite to get it out. The allen "L" key got warped and the nut is still there untouched. Tried a allen key on a socket but it doesn't work coz no space to put the other wrench to hold it already. We'll well we'll thansk for this education, last resort that worked was to darn use a self locking pliers on the opposite end, and kaboom, pesky nut was removed and sway bar link disengaged. Thanks¡!!!

    Hello I realize that this is an older thread, however I am about to replace the rear stabilizer bars on my 2013 Mazda 3 skyactiv hatchback. My question is is it necessary to remove the tire's if i have full access to both sides of the stabilizer bars? Thank you.
    Also great video.

    I hope you guys do know that you do not torque the endlinks with the vehicle in the air. As a matter of fact you shouldn't be torquing any ball joints in the air...
    Anug up the bolts finger tight up on the lift then you put it on the ground and you need to roll the vehicle forwards and then back. Get on the ground and torque them with the suspension in its natural resting position.
    Alternatively you can measure the ride height of the vehicle from the center wheel cap to the fender and use a jack with the car on the lift to raise each corner to that pre measured ride height... before torquing the ball joints.
    If you torque the ball joints or endlinks in the air you are bring preload on them. Then when you put the weight of the vehicle on the wheels it will twist the ball joints causing early wear, misalignment, and weird driving conditions.

      I get your point but I can't imagine very many mechanics not doing it the way in the video and laying on the floor to do your suggestion when they have a lift right in front them.

    Okay so how did you diagnose that they needed replacement?

    • @kwbalance108
      @kwbalance108 5 лет назад +2

      Clunking sound in the rear that's not isolated to anything else, a loose feeling rear end, if they are more than 60k old (these fail way too soon).

    • @davidcampos268
      @davidcampos268 5 лет назад +2

      If it goes clunk over bumps it can be those about 80percent of the time and the other time it's shock mounts which are just as easy to do if not a lot easier

    I have a clunking from the rear that sounded as it would when the links are shot, so i replaced them but the noise is still there. What other components would make such a clunking noise? It doesnt happen over speed bumps but does on small holes and cracked etc.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 года назад

      +Jack Andrews We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
