A great colleague of mine reminded me of Katsaris. What a wonder., a unique artist. Here,"Reference" standard of interpretation with the wise Ormandy, who had conducted many concerti with earlier great performers....Normally, the visual impression of the artist means little to me, however, the relaxed and at ease enjoyment of Katsaris is a joy to behold.Daniil, Lang, do take a glance.....

Wonderful, p.s., how Katsaris created cimbalom sounds in the exotic second piece, also a " premiere" for me at
    79+.

The same for me at 80. I know Cyprien since the Elisabeth Competition of 1972, I have nearly all his CD's, but didn't know this fantastic concert before his interview with Radio Coteaux of 17.2.2022.

Can't thank you enough for this concert, maestro Cyprien! Featuring on the piano: A GENIUS! Steinway and Jerry Lee Lewis eat your heart out, Liszt beat you to it with those glissandos. Absolutely effortlessly, like a walk in the park for the maestro. While playing he could order a drink and discuss baseball with the audience.

Brilliant!! Thank you very much!! Mr. Katsaris you are a gifted piano virtuoso! Congratulation!! Since Georges Cziffra my father dear friend died, you are my favorite piano virtuoso. My father was a Erno Dohnanyi and Elemer Polonyi student before the II WW on the Liszt Academe Budapest. He was George Cziffra best friend and they studied, practiced and preformed four hands piano pieces together before 1956. I remember I was only 7 years old. Unfortunately after the 1956 revolution my father decided stay in Hungary. My father was a Composer, Piano virtuoso and Teacher Korepetitor. Mr. Katsaris please check out my father compositions on You Tube and his early recordings. Unfortunately just two 78 record survived 1. Dohnanyi: Albumblatt and 2. Dohnanyi: Kanzonetta, the rest destroyed by Russian during the 1956 revolution. My father composed the Hungarian and Bulgarian Rhapsody for four hands and many other own compositions preformed around Europa before IIWW.
During the revolution my father music archive includes his own compositions destroyed by Russian only few suvirved. After my father passed away I uploded my father archive on My You Tube site.
I will appreciated if you spend a little time and check out my father archive. He was a great Composer and Piano virtuoso. Unfortunately the Russian kept a pressure on him. Thank you very much!

      Action or sound?

    • @christopherczajasager9030

This Mark Allen an interesting instrument that created to Katsaris' wishes and art served him very well, another example of the convincing and original contributions to 20th century piano makers: the Steingraeber u.Soehne, Fazioli , Shigeru Kawaii, Yamaha CF IIII, and post DDR, Bluethner .
Always wonderful to have many sonorities......,
