Compare this to pop songs of today, would you consider this musically clueless in comparison? Pop songs are just the same chord progressions over and over, just look at the innovative harmonies, fugal writing, and innovative technique. If you listen to Katsaris' playing and his conducting, you see flow, dynamics, and most importantly musicality You must understand Katsaris was a young musician when this was recorded, calling this "musically clueless" is just so ignorant
After watching Katsaris play this so easily. I think that I can master it well myself.
I listened to it 33 years ago and I was fascinated as a young piano student. I found it for the first time in 33 years!
A moment for appreciating the dude to play it so effortlessly
Perfect. Bravo, Thank-you Maestro Katsaris, Maestro Liszt, Orchestra, and Conductor. ❤❤❤
Liszt + Katsaris = Heaven
Haven't heard this in years. Love the Wagnerian opening (battered French horn and all).
Невероятно! Още от първия тон е омагьосващо! Истинско вдъхновение да слушаш свиренето на един гений! Като че ли той е инкарнация на Лист!

Belle
Но това е фантастично свирене!
Technically stunning, musically clueless.
33 yrs later I know what you are talking about, it is coarse and much more than Horovitz, it is just to entertain people;)
Bravo for the most moronic comment of the month.

If you claim that the music by Liszt is musically clueless, you don’t understand his music.
There is as much music in Liszt as there is in Chopin.
