This is how we should be trying to create omni-directional treadmills. Having a fairly decent sized platform of round objects that are either motorized to keep you in the center, or your harnessed to a rig able to hold a human weight. Then having sensors that you can attach easily or are part of a haptic suit to track movements as should allow for easy access to movement and actual exercise via VR.
Next engineering task: invent something to clean up thousands of bbs. My first idea involves extreme pressure gradients to suck up a large amount of light bbs, also known as a comically large vacuum.

We used to pour actual BBs under the doors of our dorm mates to make their floors like ice - air soft wasn’t an option because they weren’t a thing when I was in college
