Kiri is the Navi messiah. Born purely from Grace and Eywas spirit. I’m calling it rn. Also Jake never disliked Spider, if anything he did have some form of affection for him. It was Neytiri that never wanted him around, but she allowed it because her kids love him. That’s why instead of throwing spider towards his dad she threw him behind her. He’s a liability but also he cares for her kids and her kids care for him.
Spider isn't really on their side he was just playing along to avoid being tortured. Yes he did develop a bond with Quarig but he didn't let that bond blind him to who Quarig is. He does care for him but won't side with them his heart is with the Sully's.

And being tortured would also mean they would eventually see in his head everything he knows about the Sullys
Spider did grow attached to Quaritch. It's another take on the Terminator and John Connor / Father-Son relationship. Quaritch is bad to the bone. Spider is an older John Connor trying to keep his new father figure from doing evil. But Quaritch isnt a robot that he can easily program.
It doesnt help that Neytiri just completely alienated Spider by putting a knife to his throat.

@@LukeLovesRose Yeah Neytiri alienated him but Jake and his kids accepted him. And he's seen how much of a monster Quaritch is he may have been born a Quaritch but he was raised a Sulley.
This movie was worth the wait James Cameron didn't disappoint he really took his time to plan out the story. And it really shows you see the careful planning in this.
Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana performances were great . You see how they are so intuned with there roles it's like fitting on a glove. They don't miss a single beat.
All the Na'vi have a deep connection to nature but something about Kiri takes that X100. She's a "freak" b/c of how she'll zone/black out like she's on another frequency with nature or Eywa.
Also....I didn't know it at the time, but looking at Spider and realizing he is Ethan from Scream 6 has me shook to my core
Na'vi people age faster than humans, they reach their full maturity between the ages of 15 and 17, but they live longer, and yes, Neteyam was 15/ Spider really was adopted (kinda) by the Sullys, he even is represented on Jake's and Neteyam's songcords.
Not all movies are like this, but this movie shows that if a movie is designed/written/shot a certain way, it makes a big difference whether you see it in an immersive big 3D theater or in a normal screen at home. The sheer care about all the visual details and stuff on the screen makes you want to look around more and so you want the shots to linger *longer* not shorter. Whereas the same shot seen on a smaller, less immersive screen will seem too long and unnecessary since you aren't able to look around so easily.
This is definitely a fair point. The experience wasn’t as immersive and magical as it could’ve been if I went to the cinema and saw it on the big screen. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed it more if I didn’t watch it on my laptop first time!
I have to say this film to me was extremely emotional for me to watch. Kiri was never weird, she knew she had something wrong with her and she kept collapsing…because she had a seizure. I have epilepsy myself and have had it over 25 years…it’s incurable. To see awareness for epilepsy on the screen I honestly cried both happiness for awareness but knowing that’s how I am when I have a seizure I never like to see, but for some unknown reason I watched that. I raise awareness about epilepsy worldwide so thank you James Cameron for creating such an amazing creature and film…one of the best!

I honestly didn't find it that astonishing. Personally, I had bigger reactions to animations. Also my brain got really confused with the CGI somtimes. It's still good but it just didn't knock me away.

The third film is gonna introduce the Fire Tribe, they live in the volcanic region of Pandora and are described as being more barbaric. Their leader(not sure if oloeyktan or tsahik, because she's the only reported leader) will be played by Oona Chaplin

you are misremembering how the trees worked in the first movie. The forrest of trees we see Jake and Neytiri connect to in the first movie was the tree of voices. Thats why you could only hear the voices of your ancestors. While their tree of spirits - their version of the tree shown in this movie - was the big one that Grace connected to when she died and Jake connected to when he was put in his avatar body. The Ometicaya tree of spirits works in the same way as the Metkayina tree of spirits.
He has no choice but to help them. He’s a captive. If he refuses he goes back to be tortured. He’s 16, he’s a kid, of course he doesn’t want that.
it's breathtaking, it's emotional, it's epic, it's an adventure and outer worldly but... there is such a beating heart and it moved me deeply. maybe especially if you know the feeling of loss, then it hits so hard. this movie makes you care about the kids so much and i cannot wait to see what happens next💕
Neteyams character scenes were kinda all centered around loak, while spider has a connection to the enemy so there’s more potential of a storyline for his character
Poor Neytiri !! They took her one of her babies. I’m not a mother but I know grief and anger can make you do some crazy things. When I lost my father, I felt like my whole world was gone !! But Neyetam made Neytiri and Jake into parents and just watching him take his last breath, that had to be horrifying for them. Their first baby !! 🥺🥺

To say, the place Jake visited in the 1st movie with Neytiri to conceive Neteyam was the Tree of Voices, which is a tinier version of the Tree of Souls (the one the humans wanted to bomb in the 1st movie too.)
There is less Tree of Souls and they are much stronger and bigger (much more unobtanium under armor them) which explain why there are floating lands around them. I do believe that although there are multiple clan, each lands of pandora have multiples Tree of Voices but only one Tree of Souls. (Forest, Water, Ash Na'vi etc..)
The one Jake and Neytiri connected to is a Tree of Souls, which explain why they could see and visit Neteyam.

about your comment at 44:37: the tree where they heard ancestors was A important tree, not THEE important tree. seeing lost loved ones can probably only happen at the actual tree of souls and the place where they were mated wasn’t it. this underwater tree’s only equivalent is the tree of souls aka the place jake’s soul was transferred.

Lo'ak accepted the fault so Aonung wouldn't feel just as he always does when his parents get mad at him, but yeah, that allowed them to put their childish differences aside and be friends. Also, it wasn't risky for his family bc it's not a bad thing to go where he went, just dangerous for him as he barely knows the place and how to survive in the sea, as he's new in all of this. This is why it isn't risky for Aonung to go so it's not like he would be putting the leader's kid in risk.
Kiri was making waves in the grass and drawing all of the seeds to her. This must've been a regular thing
I watched it at home and I felt like it was a little long but I saw it twice in the theater and I didnt feel like that at all. I think in the movies it was just such an experience that it didn’t drag.

Loved this movie more then the 1st one 'cause they made the ocean environment gorgeous and breathtaking plus the ocean is my favorite elemant of nature and I'm so happy that 2023's movie theme will mostly be ocean themed simply 'cause like I said I love the ocean 😁👏🏻🤣💙

It's not fair to say this is the same than in the first movie, it isn't at all, and you can't blame Jake for believing what they did before doesn't work anymore

im a person who loves water and loves diving so i could watch this movie a trillion times. its just so amazing! i actually cant wait for the other movies, i am dying to see them. btw i have no idea about the other movies but i just suspect that kiri is basically... jesus? lol thats what i think they are trying to do with her here. also payakan has my whole heart, i love him. i also hope they will be reforming the bad guy (forgot his name) in the next one. he cant be the villain again and i love a good villain to hero arc
To anyone still wondering; his name is Miles Quaritch (it isn’t said often so I don’t fault anyone for not knowing. Honestly, until I read it from someone else’s essay on this movie, I just called him “the army guy my mom hates”. lol) and
(spoilers so if you don’t want spoilers don’t read further)
From what I read in an interview, he has a chance of redemption, yeah. It isn’t confirmed or anything, but Stephen Lang (the actor that plays Quaritch) explains that Quaritch is now a part of this world he was trying to conquer, and he’s “learned that he cannot shape that world according to his desires, the way he wants to do things. He needs to adapt to it.“ Lang also says he thinks there’s a chance of redemption, but if it will happen, he can’t say.
Personally I am interested in seeing where that takes him…because Lang also explained Quaritch’s drive and sense of duty to his mission are still a part of him too. So will there be a clash of his eyes being opened to these new things his human self never experienced and his sense of duty? That’ll be interesting to see explored if it is, along with Spider as that bridge between the Na’vi world and the human one if it’s done well.
Like all great Cameron movies, Avatar The Way of Water totally grows on you the more times you watch it

My whole question with the water....the air on Pandora is differently composed to air on Earth which is why humans need oxygen masks....why isn't the water a different composition too? It doesn't seem like humans would even be able to touch it...always felt that was a bit of an inconsistency.

Water is H2O no matter the variable. Oxygen can vary at different heights,but if water is present then it consists of 2 part hydrogen and 1 oxygen
The reason the humans can't breathe Pandoran air is because there's too much hydrogen sulfide in the air, that's why they need the masks to filter it out.
the biggening is very long cuz many of those small details that happened will be used in avatar 3 4 and 5 so the small detail's will be used and little things in the movie can get scanned and u will see why every scene was tall even simples scenes like looking at a camera or someone's back or what ev ex is that neteyams neckless is like tsutays from the first movie and neytiri wore her sons neckless at the funerla and more . a or just looking at neetyam ans annong u will see very nice deatil on theri chest stomic and so on like tha X mark or that in the end of the movie in neteyams funerla u will see that he is not glowing in the dark cuz he is dead or when loak was taking netaym back and then he was on the ground in his DEATH SCENE neteyam was holding loaks arm if u focues and more for the plot similarity yes that is a good thing this movie isnt about not being predictable or being new No that goal is just layering small deatils about the kids or about the people that will all just CLICK all of a sudden when we get enough movies the simple and close plot or deatails WILL make scenes hope this helps
