Hey Folks. I know that this frame has been out of stock shortly after this video went up. Rotor Village has more in production and should be in stock before Christmas. Please try the BF feature RPM Limit with the HQ Props. I feel they reach higher rpm than the Gemfans and pull to much amps and sag the batteries to hard. I think this could lead to reducing punchout amps without sacrificing lowend power the motors can pull.
Such a nice frame ! Very well thought architecture. I find it to be the perfect balance between the grinderino and the Smart35. I recommend RVSprinted feets for some extra protection.
I usually don't install any of the frame protection to keep the weight as low as possible. Especially on this frame, if you want to run the 6s 650, there isn't a gram to spare.
You are right , adding weight on tips such as heavier motors and protection results in a bit less agility. Still, I got a lot of trees and large rocks on my property which are not super quad friendly. A little protection is welcome (about 0.5g / peg). That frame is still very light 50g with short stands and protection on the arms. Havent broken it yet!! I got the Grinderino waiting is turn in case that one is too fragile but for now it is the best blend of agility and durability.@@Mangorille
@@dmahe76 You may want to position the camera further inside the frame in that case or run a lens filter for extra protection. The O3 camera lens is not rock friendly.
Great build you got there. I have build 3" apex on 6s with f1507 t-motors 2700kv and the hdz vtx v2 it's a little monster. Only thing it's just above 250gr but damm it flying good. Anyway thanks for sharing this vid great footage 👍🏻
TPU and solder add more weight, but bro, that kwad looks great. But first real who's coming at you with a scale. 1 gram over won't mean anything. I'm still trying to build my 2.5-inch Quadmula.
@@Mangorille Was there a problem while recording 4k videos or because of the filter you use the non-naked camera? I'm asking because I'm thinking of stripping my o3 air unit to be under 250 grams. I want to know from your experience do you have any issues while recording 4k videos after 8-9 months. Thank you!
@@verbalamuse I never ran a naked camera since the camera is already fragile enough, don't want to make it more fragile. I have been running the naked air unit for many months without problem.
Depends. How important is it to get the quad under 250 grams? Its very difficult with a 6S 650 to do that. Yes you can run a smaller 6S pack but then you start to get into lower performance packs.
Hi, excellent video, I was wondering which O3 connector you connected the single antenna to, and is this similar on the 1st generation air units. thanks in advance
Thanks. I connected it to the ant0 connector but I tried ant1 as well and no perceivable difference. I’ve got a video about the one antenna on my channel.
Hello There, I like that frame and thinking of getting it, how the frame doing after those few month ? Could you share that antenna mount ? Cheers and thanks for the sub250 content 🙂
Hey. The frame has been good so far. It’s winter here so I haven’t flown in the last few months. Check the video description for the link to a google drive for the print files.
i didnt know a 1404 could handle 6s packs. i was thinking youd need at least an 1804. i have a 1404 4s build with a caddx vista from a cinelog25 with a broken frame...im about to throw that mug on a 3 inch frame with 6s and rip that focker haha
Canada represent! I was gonna go with the smolyeet but decided to go with the siren f3 split just because its in stock. would you still go 35a esc if you went 6s?
Hey buddy! I've been flying the Siren F3 for a while now, have a bunch of videos with it on my channel. It's a great 3" frame. Yes no need to upgrade the ESC, you actually pull less amps when you go up in voltage. Remember that 35a is per ESC so you'd need to multiply that by 4 for the overall maximum amp. With 6s I pulled a maximum of 37 amps, so that's really just ~25% of the rating of this AIO.
More flight time when compared to a 6s 650 or to a 4s 650? You want to look at the weight of the battery compared with the Wh that it is capable of. To give you an idea, a 6s 650 is about 14Wh whereas a 4s 850 is about 12Wh. Both batteries have a weight of around 105-115g. I tested with a 4s 650 but yes you can go with a 4s 850 for a bit more flight time.
@@Myname__Ist_vergeben In that case I'd suggest starting somewhere here first so you can see which radio, goggles, etc. are best for you: www.fpvknowitall.com/

I bet your amp reading on the quad is way off. Official iFlight peak current for these motors is 17.99A on 4S (when you had almost 50A at 8:28) Also 50A of current on such motor+prop combo on 4S just sounds unrealistic for me. 50 * 4 / 0.65 = 300C of discharge from your 650mAh GNB (I will never believe the battery could have given you it). Neither motors nor battery nor 35A ESC do not stack up for 50A. Nevertheless great video!
Hey, thanks for the comment. The 50amps you are seeing is total amp draw across all four motors, otherwise this power system would melt in an instant. I can tell you that the amp draw is in the right ball park, I see ~50 amps being drawn by 1404 motors on my 3 inch as well.

I agree, I mention that the quad felt too powerful at 9:39 and thought about dropping the motor limit to 90% with the HQ and 4S pack.

Amazinggg only was missing the proofing of the camera board it self and the coating for it
I've never coated the DJI boards in the past, only ESCs and flight controllers. Haven't had one fail yet.
