I'm more impressed by the clarity of the shot from 5 kilometers away. The foreshortening effect makes the 2.5 km runway seem short. A top down view on Google Earth restores your perspective.

J'ai eu la grande chance de vivre à Nice. Et je peux affirmer que c'est un des plus beaux endroits pour observer l'atterrissage des avions. Lorsque le vent vient de l'Ouest les avions atterrissent côté Baie des Anges. Alors il suffit de choisir un banc sur la Promenade des Anglais et le spectacle est garanti!

There is not that much to calculate with this particular approach because the last turn consists in intercepting the runway 's PAPI (ILS is not used in that case) , it means that you must know your aircraft and expect no help coming from the autopilot . With this big bird, overshooting the runway axis a bit is pretty common because runway comes very quickly after last turn . It's a matter of training as well .

Breathtaking! Both the subject and the shot!!! At 1st I was thinking "that just isn't right". As I looked at the clarity of foreground, mid, background all the while the plane coming towards the camera is in focus. How could that be? 3 identical camera's hooked up to start recording all at the same time via software or whatever. Each focused at different distances/objects. Overlay the recordings & viola! All that's missing is a parabolic mic to hear the jet better. This has to be a thing already if I just thought of it lol. I kept thinking "imagine this if I was stoned!" and laughed at what I thought would be my reactions. Then I paused.. Oh, wait......... I am stoned.

Runway lenght is only 2720 meters ! and as you know, there are only 2 engine reversers on A380 instead of 4 !
