The Captain was so calm and re-assuring. And really seemed to like the setting and enjoyed sharing about it- I think it is part of his calming nature so the Co-pilot didn't have time to think about being nervous about the short runway. Cool vid!
I once flew to the Maldives (for work) and we landed at night in a rainstorm. It was so strange to be flying lower and lower thru the clouds and then suddenly see the very dark ocean and nothing else until we touched the runway. This daytime landing seemed so nice.
Nice landing I went to Royal Island with my late wife Happy memories The Maldives are paradise And the locals happy to see you Which doesn’t always happen in luxury island destinations
Couldn't care less if there's ads, I enjoy watching all these videos and appreciate everyone's involvement in making them available to the general public. Thanks!
I’ve flown here, and as a passenger it was slightly unnerving to see the sea suddenly rise up. I was relieved when wheels hit tarmac! Some amazing pilots out there!
I visited the Maldives last year and I remember when I first saw the turquiose ocean with the tiny islands and atolls, I was mesmerized. 💙 love flying and it is so nice and interesting to see it from the pilots' point of view. Thank you for the amazing video! Respect and many thanks to all the pilots who do such a wonderful job so we are able to reach every corner of the world. 🙏🏻😌

I flew into Male in 1986 in a Sri Lankan 737 - and it was literally a runway in the sea back then - like landing on an aircraft carrier! All you could see until you were actually on the runway was water. Beautiful place - wonderful memories!

It's interesting to think, that just 300 years ago the journey from a cold country in Europe to the Maldivian tropics, would have taken three months and favourable winds, at a seasonal opportunity - a journey where vitamin deficiency, navigational errors, doldrums, and death was commonplace - can now be achieved in a matter of hours in relative comfort. That's progress for ya.
well, if you read into ATC conversations, you know what they will say and understand it more. It's like communication between parents and their little child.
Yeah you get used to it because you kind of expect what they are going to say. Like there’s maybe 1 of 3 things they may say so you can make out if one of them is said
It's misting because hot, humid outside air is entering the aircraft for air conditioning, and the air conditioning packs couldn't remove all the moisture while it's being chilled to a comfortable temperature, so that excess moisture condenses into a small "cloud" around the vent.

Kostya Lyudikaynen condensation from the AC system due to the high percentage of humidity outside the aircraft . This is normal in tropical and sub tropical locations .
“I told you we would make it” would have been a great line in “Airplane!”, if the two pilots accidentally left open the internal comms with the passengers cabin.
Awesome video & landing! I’ve been dying to fly an Airbus. Having a side-stick with just a pull out laptop in front of you is pretty awesome. The avionics in these new A300’s are pretty incredible. Love my 737 but...
Went to biyadoo in 2003 - five months before the tsunami. The airport is amazing - just a runway and small airport building. Once through passport control, we stepped onto a dock. No buses or taxis. Just boats! A weird but wonderful experience. We then climbed about a large white speedboat and rode the Indian Ocean for an hour. I wonder to this day if Biyadoo was affected by the tsunami.
U come now it's quite different. Now male is connected to the airport with a bridge and there is another devoloping island next to the airport. And airport is under huge devolopment. U will see huge terminals and two parallel runways and plenty of seaplanes taking off and landing in every minute and plenty of private jets parked in the Easter and nothern apron.its sintillating

Of course, a real paradise! wikipedia tells: Several NGOs denounce an increase in early marriage in remote islands as well as the growing refusal to vaccinate children. Dr. Mohamed Iyaz, an influential advisor to the government in Qur'anic jurisprudence, apologizes circumcision as a “religious obligation”. In 2014, about 100 Maldivian women were whipped in public for “fornication acts.” In 2015, there were between 50 and 200 departures from Maldivians to the Islamic State territories. Good thing they tell the passengers that it's PLUS 32°C to avoid any confusion...

its default to be positive in temp readings if u dont add a negative in front
I chuckled when I heard the "plus" :-)
some penguins on the flight need this sort of information. they dont want it too much above zero.

The conversation seems like hypnotic suggestions to me to fall asleep.. but wakes up before landing , nice smooth landing captains ..
Why is there some smoke behind the capitaine seat ( on his left side behind his arm ) at 9:18 ? Looks highly unusual to have smoke in a cockpit.
