- The now-retired Captain Joe Moser in his earlier days with the old airline LTU. PF is First Officer Stefan Kater. Surely one of the most gorgeous approaches on Earth.

I visited the Maldives last year and I remember when I first saw the turquiose ocean with the tiny islands and atolls, I was mesmerized. 💙 love flying and it is so nice and interesting to see it from the pilots' point of view. Thank you for the amazing video! Respect and many thanks to all the pilots who do such a wonderful job so we are able to reach every corner of the world. 🙏🏻😌
I really miss LTU. Growing up in Düsseldorf, LTU was always giving the feeling they're the 'door' to the world. It felt special to have then based in DUS. A big loss for us.
Top!
Saw this landscape countless times from my tiny window seat. Always dreamt of seeing it from the cockpit. So : thank you for this moment. WoW.
Good thing they tell the passengers that it's PLUS 32°C to avoid any confusion...
Lmao.
its default to be positive in temp readings if u dont add a negative in front
I chuckled when I heard the "plus" :-)
some penguins on the flight need this sort of information. they dont want it too much above zero.

Béatrice Paul I’m glad you enjoyed. Check out pilotseye.tv who produced this for the complete movie. I don’t work for them I’m just a guy who loves these clips and wanted to share 😊

Love the A330…and these guys are professional and phenomenal
A joy to watch!
so professionalism
Beautiful video thank you great views
Sehr schoen erklaert. Danke schoen
Will be in Male in weeks to come 🙌🙌

Great approach...
fine, fine video !!
Beautiful !
Wow! Gorgeous approach.
That is one place you have to go before you are gone!!!!!!!
Again, congratulations, never in the Maldives, but beautiful God creation
Very nice landing!👏✈️💪
Some serious micro managing going on!!!
What is the smoke to the co's left shoulder? @9:14
Au Mann, da will ich doch direkt wieder nach Malé :(
this is old video is it?because now is island with Male island connected with higway, but video is amazing
yes around 2003
hulhumale on this video is flat, now is there hundreds tall buildings. everytime when we was there we go on runway 36 never on 18. in 4:24 is small island on right side there we was first time on maldives it is summer island village :-)
Nobody see the antinov 124 below them at the start of the video ?
I thought I saw a Russian bomber, but it was just an optical Ilyushin 🤣
anyone else get disspointed watching these and the plane doesnt crash? watched so many cockpit videos like these and none of the planes crashed :(
that was scary! they mistook 8,000 for 11,000😲
Is that the old runway?
this was so long ago
Why can we see smoke behind the captain seat on short final ?
Looks like steam. Spilled coffee?
So is this the Maledives that is allegedly being "drowned" by alleged rising oceans? Or the Maldives where some American hotel chain built a half-billion dollar luxury resort?
Nice
Belíssimas imagens...👏👏👏👏👏
just saying u didn't check landing gears on the checklist is this OK!?
What was this, driver training 101? Seems he was coaching the younger pilot.😀
I thought the same thing. I'd like to think he was just giving the the young FO the benefit of his experience, and/or maybe it was the FO's first trip there.
Interesting
FLAPS 20 PERCENT? ATC -OVER TO FACILITY ON 181.85 HAVE A NICE DAY? ARE THE GOING TO ASK FOR FULL SERVICE?
Muss aber ein sehr altes Video sein.
RIP LTU
I once flew to the Maldives (for work) and we landed at night in a rainstorm. It was so strange to be flying lower and lower thru the clouds and then suddenly see the very dark ocean and nothing else until we touched the runway. This daytime landing seemed so nice.
You're a pilot?
My country is very bizarre.
I always have a hard time understanding the ATCs. They speak so fast and unclear, yet the pilots have no trouble with this. Might be their experience.
well, if you read into ATC conversations, you know what they will say and understand it more. It's like communication between parents and their little child.
Yeah you get used to it because you kind of expect what they are going to say. Like there’s maybe 1 of 3 things they may say so you can make out if one of them is said
Its like doctors's bad handwriting that pharmacist read at a glance
Good analogy.
It's the same that if you picked up a guitar for the first time you would suck. Practice!
"Get it down nice and smooth"
Dang. That would generally make me nervous and I would slam it in.
That's why you're not a pilot? ^^
Stress is for inefficient people.
Haha that's what I thought
@@Oockeshoekaeee pilot eye , pilot eye , captain juren
exactly , that would discourage the man on yoke
Nice landing
I went to Royal Island with my late wife
Happy memories
The Maldives are paradise
And the locals happy to see you
Which doesn’t always happen in luxury island destinations
It's interesting to think, that just 300 years ago the journey from a cold country in Europe to the Maldivian tropics, would have taken three months and favourable winds, at a seasonal opportunity - a journey where vitamin deficiency, navigational errors, doldrums, and death was commonplace - can now be achieved in a matter of hours in relative comfort.
That's progress for ya.
VITAMIN DEFIENCY. I...NEEEED....VITAMIN....
@@fallat1sthurdle Especially vitamin C
Shut up.
In the next 300 years its possible that maldives get completely submerged
Donari They have a really nice underwater hotel I hear.
“I told you we would make it” would have been a great line in “Airplane!”, if the two pilots accidentally left open the internal comms with the passengers cabin.
Yeah :D
But actually, he doesn't says this in german. "I told you, we'll get the hundred back in".
Good Mentorship. The F/O will see positive results if he applies the Captain's recommendations and the knowledge he shares.
What a great captain
Must be half of a pilot's training is about to understand these radio messages.
I always wanted to be a pilot as a kid. Take off’s and landings just give me soo much chills.
"I told you we would make it"
0_0
They began their descent a bit late/early, wasn't clear, that's why. If they didn't make it, a go around would be initiated approach once again.
He meant it because of fuel efficency
All our respect to all pilots for your amazing job! Thank you so much!
Why do I always feel a sense of satisfaction after watching these videos? Another great landing.
9:20 What is there smoking in the background of the captain?
Bong
It's misting because hot, humid outside air is entering the aircraft for air conditioning, and the air conditioning packs couldn't remove all the moisture while it's being chilled to a comfortable temperature, so that excess moisture condenses into a small "cloud" around the vent.
Avantime thanks for the explanation!
Medical air
They both smoked cigars.
Taking an seaplane taxi off Malé to one of the islands is the coolest experience I've had regarding to flying. :) The pilot and co-pilot were flying barefoot. :D
Mostly Canadians...
Good english and perfect german language. :)
Hahaha ... when the co-pilot says "You Have Control" it seems that he is taking a ton of weight off his back !!
He was happy to get the pilot off his back. I'd want to say "STF UP"!
Awesome video & landing! I’ve been dying to fly an Airbus. Having a side-stick with just a pull out laptop in front of you is pretty awesome. The avionics in these new A300’s are pretty incredible. Love my 737 but...
I’ve flown here, and as a passenger it was slightly unnerving to see the sea suddenly rise up. I was relieved when wheels hit tarmac! Some amazing pilots out there!
Fantastic, wonderful paradies in the world. I was 4 twice on the Malediven island. My first time was in 1985... Robinson feeling.
Loved the approach and landing with you guys, so easy, so smooth ... "wir bekomnmen die hundert rein, lass sie raus schiessen" yeah! Thats moren than cool. ♥
Captain Joe Moser's voice sounds like batman. A true hero.
Great job with the landing! Nice vid!
Couldn't care less if there's ads, I enjoy watching all these videos and appreciate everyone's involvement in making them available to the general public. Thanks!

Amazing video....thank u so much for this wonderful journey
I flew into Male in 1986 in a Sri Lankan 737 - and it was literally a runway in the sea back then - like landing on an aircraft carrier! All you could see until you were actually on the runway was water.
Beautiful place - wonderful memories!
nice video, brilliant camera work. You surely not only brought 250 passengers but also 70 tonnes of cargo for hotel logistics?
LTU IS GONE! I regret that very much because it was one of the best air lines I know. Berlin Air bought them and now they are both out of business - it id not always good to merge. I miss LTD!
Why is there some smoke behind the capitaine seat ( on his left side behind his arm ) at 9:18 ? Looks highly unusual to have smoke in a cockpit.
By current standards this approach was pretty awful. Clearly way too high for the runway. Needing excessive descent with idle thrust would be completely unacceptable today and with fair reason. I get that this was some time ago, but the need for stabilised approaches by 1000 feet does make sense, and there are plenty of accidents in the databases to explain why!
6:35 I'm pretty sure agent 47 is down there murdering 3 people and dressed like a pirate.
Not sure I'd want that much social chit chat during an approach - shows the team at its best that they can handle it \m/
9:20
What is that smoke or steam behind the captain?
I think is coffee or hot chocolate.
The AC
@@rocaptain1839 never during landing...😉😀
Kostya Lyudikaynen condensation from the AC system due to the high percentage of humidity outside the aircraft . This is normal in tropical and sub tropical locations .
Weedsmoke
Excellent vids!!! What a beautiful place that I will never be lucky enough to experience firsthand. But this is the next best thing to being there!!! Love to see the interaction of the pilots! Well done.
The Captain was so calm and re-assuring. And really seemed to like the setting and enjoyed sharing about it- I think it is part of his calming nature so the Co-pilot didn't have time to think about being nervous about the short runway. Cool vid!
Fascinating! Thanks for the great video.
I've played flight sims a lot, but I can't imagine flying the real deal with 300 or so passengers on board! Kinda scary!
First landing is always scary... even with the instructor aside. First solo landing is too. After, it's a matter of undred hours of training.
Commenting 1/27/20 from southern RI, USA...at 645am EST.... AWESOME shots of those gorgeous turquoise waters all around those beautiful ATOLLS...and the beaches at where the Maldives' landing scene takes place here....as they never see snow at any time....This lovely video also reminds me of this wild dream I had of my being in Tuvalu on 6/18/97, heeeheee..almost 23 years ago....and back then..I thought I'd never see any real such awesomed RUclips videos of such jet takeoffs/landings in all remote corners of the world..like this very scintillating video HERE.... BTW..sorry for the ''527'' dislikes...as there shouldn't be ANY. such dislikes to this amazing video with also the subtitles too..... Much fondness...James, LuvsTstormTapes.
Superb camera work gentlemen, thank you.
i don’t always speak German.
But when i Du, Du hast, Du hast mich.
This was awesome to watch thank you :)

At the land u see in pilot cam some smoke coming behind his left shoulder tbh I dunno what's that?
Cockpit Air Conditioner. Commonly on Airbus aircraft even some in cabin mostly during boarding and disembarking. No worries, it is absolutely normal.
@@iw4861 nice I thought could be that too but u know was very visible the "smoke" xd thank you for the information bud :)
@@gamerbosi227 I noticed it also 😄
9:21 what Is that thing smoking behind the pilot?
I'd say really warm bleed air from outside
And wet air.
That's some seriously impressive stopping power wow!!
Wow owsm fantastic and wonderful amazing vedeos I like it . Very lovely moovements sirs 🥰😍😘😗😙
Absolutely breath taking! Wonderful work by the crew and Maldives looks AMAZING!
I guess there's no sterile cockpit requirement below 10000 feet like US airlines mandate?
9:48 left pilot what is this smoke ?
Air Condition
The conversation seems like hypnotic suggestions to me to fall asleep.. but wakes up before landing , nice smooth landing captains ..
9:37 Wtf is smoking behind his left shoulder.
Its the aircon, it's common in Airbuses, can sometimes see it during boarding/disembarking if you sneak a peek inside, if the door is open.
I have really enjoyed, took me back to 2018 when I was flying for Maldives Airways A320/321 ,and with Afriqiyah Airways flying A 330 which is lovely aircraft
wonderful experience to be part of the flight thnx ! 🙏
I"ts beautiful ! Maldives cool!!!
