it's simply amazing to me how this country even exists. It's literally built on small pieces of rock sticking out of the ocean (I almost cannot call them proper islands). And yet, they have roads, airports etc. And it looks heavenly. Thanks for this beautiful trip-report and it's nice to see you have all of your family with you :)
when i worked for one of our local aircraft maintainance companies, i spent some time looking after a local twin otter that would ferry tourists to one of our local islands. LOVE the sound of those twin P&W PT6A turbines running up and humming along in the air. Great to see they also have a full glass cockpit now too...great aircraft and well suited to this role
When I think of Heaven on Earth, I think of the Maldives. When I want a slice of Heaven, I watch your videos. Thank you for uploading some of the most incredible videos over the years. I truly appreciate your channel and world travels!
Such a beautiful, beautiful place.... I know that I would never be able to afford to visit these islands but I am in awe of their beauty. Good luck to all those who get to visit and hope you enjoy every moment
If you truly want to go, Dream BIG! Write it down, everything about it that you would want to experience. The power of the spoken word is true! Have faith, belief and trust that "it will be so". Start by listening to people like Neville Goddard. The power of manifestation is real. You will manifest things incrementally so that it will reinforce in you, that you are a powerful being who creates your own future. Watch your thoughts, they become your words. Watch your words, they become your actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny. And I agree with you, so thankful for this opportunity that technology (via video) allows us to share in this absolutely and amazingly beautiful experience. I utilize these videos to build my manifestation of where I will be travelling to next. I wish to see you standing on the platform, when we arrive for departure! Cheers!
4:27 "Best fan ever"... Made me a fan of Manta Air right away! I wish this kind of harmless, down-to-earth practicality still existed in more of the world!!
I have flown in seaplanes from NYC out to Montauk -- just me and the pilot. That made me a bit nervous as no one else was with me if something happened to the pilot! Won't do that again! And seaplanes in other parts of the world. It is an amazing way to fly, so grateful for all of my opportunities and aware that most people won't have such experiences. ✨✨👍👍✨✨👍👍
That's smooth flying over Maldives indeed! Closest to an AVATAR's Planet Tour on Earth! We're in Good Hands with these Han Solo & Chewbacca as our Navigators! Thank You So Much for sharing!
Aahhhh!! This takes me back! My wife and I went to the Maldives on our honeymoon in 2000. We landed in Mahle and flew to Thudufushi, one of the atolls. I will never forget the experience for as long as I live. The aircraft were smaller and I remember they were orange but no idea what they were- twin engine gas turbines but that's about it. The crew banked the aircraft over as we watched a pod of dolphins darting in and out of the surf. Absolutely amazing! If you haven't done this and are thinking of it PLEASE go for it. You'll be glad you did. ❤️
the most fabulous place in the world i have been there 3 times i did cry when i had to leave if you can ?please go there this is what heaven must be like
What a spectacular video! Especially the last ~4 minutes where you over-fly your resort showing-off the beautiful over-water villas each with their own swimming pool and water slides - and no doubt other mind-boggling amenities inside - and - of course - gorgeous turquoise water and white sand beaches forever. This looks like it could be the most exclusive and elusive luxury resort in the world! What else compares with this? Great views along the way from inside the Twin-Otter. Interesting to see it had a full-glass cockpit - don't think I have seen that before. As a Canadian it makes me proud to see this iconic Canadian aircraft operating in one of the most exclusive and elusive places on earth.
Great video (as always). Flying on the Twin-Otter seaplanes in the Maldives never gets boring. I still find take-off and landing so special even after doing it many times. I also find it nice that you actually gave the flight itself its own video. Looking forward to your video from Soneja Jani.
In March 2018 I spent 2 wonderful weeks at Filitheyo resort in the Faafu atoll. Flew from Male by seaplane just like you did and had the same spectacular view over the ocean. "Over water villa" and direct access to snorkeling from the house. Swimming among colorful fish and sometimes a small shark or a manta. Unforgettable. Very friendly staff and delicious food from all over the world. Can't wait to come back...
Spectacular video and views. My wife and I are heading to the Maldives (St. Regis) in October with a planned sea plane ride, seeing this makes me even more excited. And as a pilot, I loved the "jump seat" view from the cockpit. Awesome stuff.
Thank you for the video, that was amazing to see, the islands, lagoons are majestic. I have never been in sea plane, nor snorkeling, diving, but I did used to be a skydiver, so seen plenty of great views from altitude, and jumped out of some different planes, one time it was my life. Thank you very much for the video, I love your channel and will always support it. Have a good day you and your family, take care. Jamie
Love the sound of a Twin Otter. Though I've flown hundreds of flights on them; I've only a handful on Otters so beautifully appointed and landed in in less than a dozen flights.
Great video, beautiful cinematography and wonderful music! I love how you tell a story with no talking/minimal words. Very fitting to see this as I've started doing some research into a trip to the Maldives. Appreciate your sharing your adventures.....😃😃😃
We flew the ATR from Male to Dhalu Atoll just a month ago. Manta has impeccable service and the kids were given little toy mantas as a gift on the flight. We watched the floatplanes land and depart from our overwater villa each day. 😊
Yes, I have been on a seaplane. I'm from Yellowknife in Canada so we call them float planes. My family took a float plane to a remote lake that is only accessible by plane for a holiday. It is called Fishing lake and that's what we did. We camped, fished, took walks with pans to bang if we ran into bears, and had campfires. Equally amazing but in a completely different way.
We visited Yellowknife back in 2015 so I could visit Buffalo Airways (my wife arranged it for my birthday!!) Spent a few days there and took the float plane on a sightseeing tour, absolutely awesome. Steve UK 🇬🇧

Yes, twice. Harbour Air and West Coast Air. Flying between Vancouver,BC and Victoria,BC. The take off was quick and the landing have been the most smoothest ever. I never knew the plane was on the water again. I would fly them more if I had the opportunity.

Thrilling, yet softly beautiful at the same time. Great views from the seaplane. (Very cool plane, by the way!)
