Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 looks so real, even the pilots look amazing
leokimvideo the fysicks are amazing to.
Lol
🤣
SO, IS IT REAL , OR NOT?.....🙄

Jurgen Raps is a freaking stud. 40 years of experience taught him how to plant that A380 on that runway with a 15 knot tailwind. There really is no substitute for an experienced pilot who can anticipate air traffic control before they even speak. Not to mention the fact that he maintains a sterile cockpit from start to finish. Good man. We'll miss you in your retirement, Jurgen.
Jaakko White how on Earth did you miss the point!? 40 years *total* experience.

Yep! I was just thinking what a pro! So that is his name! He ROCKS! Kudos on a successful career! Beautiful landing!
This professionalism is what makes air travel so safe. Makes me feel more confident flying.
10 years ago i watched this video for the first time and i was so inspired to be an pilot
10 years later i failed to be a pilot, feels bad to not acheive what i had dream.
all the very best for all future pilots that are going to fly such engineering beauty's..
Hi Gaikwad, that's sad to hear. We feel for you!
Let me throw in a voucher to watch our films for free.
Send me a DM to ta@pilotseye.tv.
All the best
As soon as I saw the water salute, I rushed to the description and, sure enough, final flights for the captain. Very nice landing and exceedingly professional and courteous-tons of respect for such a great flight crew.
This is one of my favorite videos!! I’ve watched it so many times I’ve lost count. The takeoffs and landings are spectacular! The pilots are beyond great. I’ve watched the takeoff from Germany to San Francisco and the return trip to Germany.
Love it !!!
It's so good to see Captain Raps letting passengers know what is on their wing etc. I've had plenty of flights all around the world and it very rarely happens.
Watched this ten years ago as a pilot flying the Dash 8 for Flybe. Now I’m a pilot with BA about to start my conversion course to the A380. Dreams come true. Although I still miss the Dash 😂
Well damn congrats!
Hi Nick, great to hear! If we may include your experience, watching our series along with your training to our testimonials, please send them directly to my mail: ta@pilotseye.tv
Thanks in advance and always blue skies!

Whoever did editing/splicing of film deserves an award. These pilots flying these birds, wow, nerves of steel!
Thanks, the Walter Award will be handed over to our editors shortly :-)
Yep! Ain’t it the truth?
My 1st flying lesson my instructor flew me over the Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 from Oakland Airport, down the Coast and back-1993-my heart was in my moth!
The different camera angles both internal and external are outstanding. Well done.
I absolutely love the flow of the protocol on approach to SFO. The sights from high up looking down were gorgeous. Landing a "flying hotel" takes plenty of skill on a clear day and far more skill and experience during inclement weather. These German pilots did a great job of landing that big boy plane. Thank You for showing us all what the passengers never get to see firsthand. Loved all the electronic navigational instruments. The mechanical movements of the plane thrill me. This was my dream since I was a little kid. To fly a commercial airliner. The aviation industry lost a potential commercial pilot going back to the 1990's. The loss was greater for me than for them.
So nice what you wrote and how who wrote it in your comment. 🤗😃 I'm loving such quality comments here. 👏🏻 It was a pleasure reading it. You must be a very likeable and modest person. What a shame you didn't or couldn't make your dream (=pilot) come true. Hoping you found another fulfilling profession.
@@evawoods815 Thank You so very much. This is the nicest return comment I've ever had. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed my somewhat lengthy comment. I really would've loved to have been a commercial pilot for AA, TWA or Delta. That would've been a childhood dream come true for me. I try to be charming, likeable and funny but making a very good first impression is important to me. I hope I did. Eva have a wonderful day. Take care and be safe..from the pandemic.
Yes, you would have been one of the finest.
I am always impressed by the Lufthansa pilots and their efficient and competent operations.
What a magnificent piece of engineering and what a great and professional crew to bring her into such a smooth landing.
meandmymouth the landing wasn't smooth.
Random Account that's the smoothest landing I've ever seen, I've been on many Boeing's not to many airbus's and there's ALWAYS a rough bump the second you land, then a less rough but still rough bump when the nose goes down then you feel that force on you when your slowing down, when you take off you feel as if youre being pushed forward extremely hard and when you just landed and youre slowing down you feel youre being pushed back
yeah, the landing was good but not smooth
Starwars Geek watch othe a380 landings they are better
meandmymouth
This is great a great sight.
One of the very best aviation videos I have ever seen. Thank you so very much !!!
James Kamm has
Wow… that was amazing. I would feel very comfortable flying with these pilots.
Been a long time since I landed at SFO. Thank you, Gentlemen, for the scenery and pillow soft landing. I remember almost landing in the bay one particularly windy day. Safe journeys to you.
Jürgen Raps.
Einer der sympathischsten Flieger überhaupt !
Thomas B Leider jetzt in Rente :-)
The ground air traffic controllers have a tremendous job to do... what a great team work..!!!
That's is the secret of success..."team work".
So calming when everything goes right and everyone is on the ball, which is most of the time. But at the same time, landing always gives a lot of adrenalin.
This has to be by far the best cockpit/piloting video on YT. Not sure I’ve seen other channels have the extra detail of showing the control surfaces as adjustments are made. Amazing stuff. Hope you guys do something similar for the A350.
Oh, absolutely - this is the Trailer for the Episode " A350 - Luftahnsa's next top model" ruclips.net/video/xOifSK8hQcI/видео.html
With the most details of how this very plane we were shooting had been built in its details. From Carbonfiber-Wing-Layout in Hamburg Stade to the nuts and bolts - drill in Toulouse.

Always blue skies!
This will remain as an epic cockpit video and the Pilots greatest ever
Everytime I see this kind of video, I cannot wrap my mind on how amazing that single act is in the hall of times, and we do it everyday, everywhere, like business as usual.. humans are amazing, everything it took to get to THAT moment of kissing the runway
Yes, white males did invent and construct it! No racism, just stating facts. Western humans rule. And animals are als amazing
I Love watching these professional land a massive jet with such professionalism, inspirational!
The more amazing thing is, he rides his motorcycle during the active operation hour of KSFO in the middle of the taxiways! Gosh, this pilot enjoys his life! I hope wherever you are, may you be healthy and good Captain Raps!
I was fortunate to have flown on this very flight. It was amazing. The crew was wonderful as was the food. It was a very smooth ride. Beautiful plane. Loved it. jp Wisconsin.
what a big bird, beautiful to watch
birdwatching is fun
Shlomo Sheikchilli true
whale is more like it!
Idk why people say its ugly, i'm hella shooked over how it looks. Surely it's big and bulky, but that bulk is smooth, thats what matters
+Luna McLean it looks like a bird he means
This is called PERFECTION ! When you love your work, you don't work at all , you're just having fun ! You enjoy every minute, every second . You really can't have enough doing it .
I have the utmost respect and admiration for pilots. It still amazes me how they get off the ground. God bless all our pilots. Stay safe. 🙏🙏🙏💕
The conversation in English language of these Lufthansa pilots is really great.
Excellent Video!! The Best Landing video I’ve seen! The amount of different cameras, their angles, clarity of voices, views, ATC, music, editing, every aspect of Landing covered.....everything!👍🏻
Greetings from Mexico!🇲🇽
that's beautiful! The captain is retiring... this is why HE landed this bird rather than the first officer. what a class act...
Thanks for the entertaining show. Brings back memories of my 15 years working SFO as an UA mechanic.
showing the approach/landing from many different angles and camera positions is definetely a lus
What's a "lus" ?
tomaz antonio stern you 9
a plus, I guess
I like the German pilot and co-pilot. Very professional and precise. Serious and masterful. Good job.
They exude confidence & make it look so easy. Love to watch their vids.
Such a great video with many camera angles.
I have watched this video at least twice before.
Happy retirement, Captain.
Es gibt keinen Beruf den ich so sehr schätze, , Piloten sind für mich die GRÖßTEN. Das war ein tolles Videos. ❤❤❤👍
Gives good appreciation for the amount of engineering, communication, coordination and resources that go into safe landing. Hope passengers get to appreciate it rather than just eat, sleep, sh!t and choose to complain about some minor discomforts.
Such a beautiful bird! Never gets old watching these. Well done!
faszinierend, so einen Vogel fliegen zu dürfen.. ein Traum. Danke fürs teilen.
These pilots ALWAYS so professional set the standard for sterile cockpit focus safety I would fly with them anyday
I loved watching all the technical skill necessary to land this beautiful airplane. Thank you for putting me in the cockpit.

I never get tired watching A380
True.
I love watching the Jumbos also. A380, Boeing 747......When I was in the Air Force, the C-5 Galaxy and the C-17 Globemaster.
I watched this first landing of the Lufthansa A380 at SF airport. I was there along the waters edge seeing it personally.... (along with probably a thousand other fans) it was the first landing of an A380 in San Francisco. I greatly respect Lufthansa!
Lufthansa es una de las mejore linea aerea

Le deseamos un buen vuelo y mucha diversión.
Wonder how these flying machines fly with so much baggage and descend so beautifully. Absolutely marvelous!
Biiiiig engines :) I think the weight of the fuel and the plane itself are bigger factors.
Beautiful plane
Gorgeous big bird
Nice smooth landing
Great music at the end
I must say, those two are the BEST Pilots I have ever seen in my life on RUclips. I hope The Captain is enjoying His Retirement very well. The coolest dudes in the Aviation Industry.
BRAVO!!!!
Danke für das Lob!
San Francisco airport is an outstanding and very professional airport with very professional and dedicated control tower personnel. Hats off to them!
It is great weather today, but it can be treacherous when there is fog. They had an open air balcony showing the tarmac in past years. It was a great place to watch 707s, and DC-8s and the newest airliner the 727s. There were propeller driven aircraft like the Electra. Flying into SFO made you feel like you were landing in the bay, but just as you were about to touch the water a landing strip would appear. They used to have a flight from Oakland to SFO to position aircraft. Lasted 15 minutes, cost 12 dollars. Money well spent.
I enjoyed this Video . I'm not a Pilot but, to just see the skill it takes to Fly a Plane is fascinating to me. Thank You.
I never tire of watching this. The captain instills confidence in Lufthansa.
Danke mein Herr!
I have had the pleasure of travelling on the A380, and will do as long as we have them.
🏆
It amazes me how they can communicate with so many diffrent accents and languages spoken over the wireless.
Jürgen Raps, you're a legend!
true that
A credit to his profession.
I never get tired of watching this video. I must have seen it a dozen times. 😊👍 ✈️
Boner
Beautiful video.
Two pilots who love their job
Captain is a bit of a dick though, imo
Amazing the technology all coming together to allow such a beast to gracefully fly. Great crew, excellent video!!
Fantastic video, cameras positioned everywhere - cockpit, ATC, the ramp, the ground along the ILS, and even a little Wagner at the end. Outstanding video.
This was SO AWESOME, I am awestruck at how smooth and efficient the pilots work and communicate with each other.
And the water salute while taxing was beautiful. I loved it, Thank you!!!
I have a lot of respect for those pilots and their ability to land such a massive aircraft.
The best commercial aircraft videos period.
The multiple cameras, the clarity of the video and the good personalities of the pilots all add value to the overall production.
Thank you for sharing.

My father has travelled all over the world basically, and he mentioned that flying Lufthansa is a very pleasant experience in every way.
Me¡
Very Very Nice, congratulations to the two pilots, from Germany to the USA, it is a wonderful world.
What a beauty. Although a bit old for I am watching this in July, 2022, It's been a joy as ever.
haha so many comments from a few days ago when this video came out in 2013
I've been overdosing on The Smithsonian Channel's "Air Disasters"; and, it sure is refreshing to see an airliner land safely..
*WELL DONE GENTLEMEN...THANKS FOR THE FLY ALONG, IT WAS ENJOYABLE!!*
Na herrlich! Mein einziger An- und Abflug in San Francisco war nachts, jetzt konnte ich endlich mal was sehen. Gute Sendung
The most professionally produced multi camera video of an approach, landing and ground taxi to gate I've ever seen. Nothing else comes close.
You made our day, Thanks!
I'm nearly 50 years old but I still feel a child-like wonder when I watch these amazingly huge planes. One of the highlights of my life was being able to sit in the cockpit of a C-17 in 2006 (it was parked). I felt 8 years old again and I will never forget that feeling.
That’s awesome! I feel the same way you do when I see aircraft. ♥️
Same here 🤗
This channel is great. These videos help inform me of how phenomenal pilots are at their extensive knowledge of flying a plane. These also helped lessen my anxiety of flying as well.
It's been several years since I've seen this video. I live in SF, and just love watching it.
I'm sorry to tell the Captain, and Crew that the Cliff House has closed, due to Covid, lock-down, and a breakdown in negotiations with the Department of the Interior (It's located on federal land, in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area). However, there are hopes that it can be revived, later in 2022.
Airline pilots have the coolest jobs. Very demanding, I appreciate them all
Great video! I really like how you show the different perspectives of what is going on. I can’t imagine how difficult it was to arrange that.
This is why I usually fly Lufthansa from Europe to the US and back. Very professional airlines.
I realize this is almost a 10 year old video, but still great today. Those A380's were really cool. Too bad not many airports could not handle them.
Flown on one in 2018. Wonderful, beats all other planes.
The A380 is a damn fine machine, a masterpiece. I can't wait to fly on one, it looks very comfortable. This is one behemoth of a plane.
A380 is spectacular.
Das war Capitan Rapps letzte Landung 😭😢Sehr Emotional.Viel Spaß noch mit deinem Helikopter Schein.
Werde dich vermissen.
GameCrafter er flog eine andere Maschine noch nach Frankfurt zurück am nächsten Tag also war es seine vorletzte Landung :)
Und wahrscheinlich Butterweich.. 😏
GameCrafter u
OK, it explains his desire to go visual approach instead of ILS. He probably wanted it toooo much, visibly freaking out when the First Officer called out the ILS approach (which is the way they're used to execute it). Putting so much pressure on the crew is *inappropriate!* The result didn't take long to appear: just few more minutes into the approach and you notice the FO's delayed/mumbled readbacks of the ATC instructions, which is a clear indication of overstress. Shame, Captain Rapps! You should have mind those 600 people behind your back more than your pleasure to fly the bird one last time...
Great German pilots are always good to see. True professionals on par with high quality medical doctors, imo. Need to give the air traffic controllers great respect as well, I really don't know they can do what they do, but I'm sure glad they can do it, day in and day out. Both the pilots & the aircraft controllers earn every penny of their wages.
Watching this video is a good example of why there will NOT be flying cars for everyone. Everyone involved in moving planes requires respect and following orders or people die
I love how the algorithm has this pop up on my feed every so often. Gotten to enjoy this video several times now.
Thank's for rewatching :-)
What a amazing job, seeing the world every single flight, ✈️
Fantastic plane, fantastic pilots, fantastic job. Thanks a lot. Danke.
FABULOUS !!! Great panoramic views ! Really felt like being right there in the cockpit !!! Enlightens us, albeit with just a glimpse, on how crucial the ATC-Pilot communication and action both are !!! Salute to the pilots and to all the people behind the curtain ---in the Control Tower--- as well !!! Great teamwork--- the skilled pilots make it sound so simple, but it is actually deceptively simple !!!
A very nice approach and landing! Video is good enough to be part of a professional movie. The three men from ground crew with the thumbs up, was perfect , after the Captain said, “ we behave here,” with a smile.
Flew R/T Atlanta/Seoul/Bangkok and was one of the best flights ever. Like the 747, will miss this beautiful plane.
I like the way the tower spoke to the pilots in German, and the pilots to the tower on English.
My first landing at SF scared me to death. On final approach there was another aircraft to the right, as if we were competing for the same runway. As things turned out we were using the left runway and the other aircraft the right. Both aircraft landed simultainiously on adjacent runways. Never experienced that before - or after. Crazy, but that was 22 years ago.
.. and it is still happening every day without interference.
If you want to observe the whole action in the cockpit - this is the link to the whole episode: petv.co/a380vod
Enjoy the flight!
Absolutely brilliant and entertaining. The visuals where seamless. Excellent landing. The plane is so easy to land. Remarkable.
What a great video. Outstanding German professionalism.

Espetacular!!!!! parabéns aos pilotos,e a todos esses gênios que constroem essas máquinas maravilhosas, thanks a Santos Dumont e aos irmãos Rayth
The best and relaxed crew ever👍🏼
My first airline flight was on a DC-6 from SEA to SFO when I was eight years old. I asked so many questions that the crew put me in the jump seat and didn't kick me out until about five mile final. I was hooked for life.
You guys did such a great job! I have never seen atc in person like that!
Camera work and editing super smooth! Seeing the a380 land on her heels was great! Please continue making awesome content!!
I enjoyed this video more than an award winning movie
I have watched this video several times, always puts me in a good mood. Thank you!

Love to see Germany, German Pilots, World's most loved Airplanes..God Bless Aeronautical Engineers, Scientists Scholars in Aviation History
Magnificent plane. Awesome video! Thanks so much for sharing a world that most of us will never get to experience. My piloting days are over, and I don't even like flying commercial anymore (something to the effect of being sardines in a can), but this stuff still fascinates me, and I still look skyward with wonder every time an aircraft flies overhead. Anyone who doesn't look with wonder at the miracle of flight is dead inside.
Or lives within 20 miles of SFO
I never get tired of watching this video!
They even have cameras on the ground! Amazing stuff
The overview of SF was good to see. My memory of the '89 bay area earthquake saw a mess. Love SF and Oakland.
And many fans return to this video because of the last views of the candlestick park stadium, which has been demolished.
God bless to all the pilots out there big respect to you all
