No matter how we look at it, the a380 will be sorely missed when it's short-lived existence comes to an end. What an absolutely amazing sight to see and marvel of engineering! And the pros that fly it.. top notch. Its all top notch people at the pinnacle of their professions.. my complete admiration and respect.
Still if u know how to fly an a320, learning a380 won't be that big of a problem, about overhead panel, mcp and all these kind of things are just almost the same, everything u need to learn to do after switching from one airbus to another, is get used to when u should flare, and u should get used for the weight of the aircraft(I know that weights can be different, depends on how many passengers, the cargo hold and so on).
@@latezzbtw the a380 isn't that similar but definitely an easier switch than between boeings, for instance. you could compare it really well to the a350 but a320 is a bit outdated
I am surprised the ramp worker guiding it to the parking spot had to stand on a staircase! Doesn't the crew use a forward looking camera under the nose for that purpose?
This is brilliant! Such a good work. This is the perfect example of how a team should be, great display of professionalism! Would love to fly with you. Safe flights!
Been to Sydney once to get on a cruise to Seattle a few years ago. Was there 5 days and loved the city. People were very friendly and city was well maintained but my favorite part was taking the water taxi from point A to point B every morning. Breakfast, coffee touring etc. all thumbs up. Cheers Bill
hanselxy yes. And no. There were differences but you had to look and be aware. Language was obviously the same but obviously there were accents. I remember Starbucks and probably a few other American eateries. I think that’s where you’re headed probably. I’ve also been to Cozumel Mexico where there are McDonald’s and kfc and probably a few others. It is sad that it’s getting harder and harder to find an identity of a society like certain parts of France are Mid East or you go to Boston you expect something different from let’s say Houston or Louisiana. The world is getting smaller and smaller which is good and bad depending on your perspective.
That landing was so smooth you could only tell it was on ground by slight bumps moving along runway. Had to see FO's body moving slightly from the 'rumbles' from tires on concrete. That was picture perfect landing of world's largest passenger plane. Been to Miami before, it's a beautiful flight in and out of.
I was surprised MIA can accept this plane. I thought A380s had to divert to MCO to ensure they have room. My home airport (DFW) gets A380 flights from LHR. It draws small crowds and the airport security have to keep a car by the runway to make sure curious people don't get too close!
Over 5.5 million views, but only 44 thousand Likes? Hmm... Seems like there's an 'agenda' there. Personally, I don't care who's flying what or where they come from; I just love aviation. A particularly nice feature of this video is the size of the text that pops up on screen as various instruments are operated. Big, bold, clear and easy to read. Thanks for that. Teeny-weeny script in fuzzy light grey against a slightly darker grey background may look 'cool' and cinematic, but it's useless because it's completely illegible on a small tablet or phone. Not everybody watches RUclips in 4K on a 68" screen... 😁
Thks so much for sharing. I miss the old days of touring the cockpit of many aircraft, when 1 of the passengers would always ask "What happens when I push this button?"
Been watching too many "cause of airplane crash videos" that I needed to remind myself that there are good pilots out there that actually do things the right way....good job guys !
As a Frenchman myself, I'm not at all an extreme French chauvinist. But I feel very proud of France when seeing this video because A) Airbus is a European company, with it's main executive headquarters and it's main final assembly located in France, and B) this crew is French (probably Air France) and did suuuuuch a smooth landing and amazing job. This is definitely the kind of guys in the hands of whom you can feel so safe up in the air 🙂
The sheer complexity of the digital map alone gives me anxiety. Would love to be a pilot but never had the chance. Thanks for the video to feel like a pilot for 15 minutes!
1)Why does the A380 at Airfrance not have the RAAS Runway Awareness and advisory system? Other aircrafts at AF like A330-200 or A340-300 have that installed. 2) Also i would like to ask why the BTV was active when you selected Aurobrake LOW. 3)Were you flying over the everglades at around 5:00? If yes do you need to take special precautions over that area? 4) Why did you use heading and then Track TRK and again heading? I thought TRK is used only for non precision approach, but you used ILS. If you can answer these questions i would learn alot more. Thank you
1/ they have the RAAS 2/ they finally activated the BTV before landing 3/ no special precautions. Just try to not land there;) 4/ they used track because the chart notice it for the 271. Otherwise Heading by the ATC

I watch the a380 coming in to land in Glasgow from my work behind the airport and it's like it's hanging in the air, barely moving. It must just be the sheer size of the thing.

it means 100 feet above the decision altitude of the approach.
