  • This is an 08 Nissan 350Z with a single turbo kit installed. It has an oem Nissan GTR upper plenum conversion installed using RJM Manufacturing lower plenum conversion kit. We fully tuned it this morning and set the Boost at 10 psi. It made 517 wheel horsepower at 10 psi of boost

      Waste of money n/a, the swap is to hold more boost since the stock plastic manifold isn't very reliable.

    Is this compatible with the 25hr as well? Maybe a silly question, but it I'm not aware of any major differences in plenum design between the vq35hr and vq25hr.

    • @christiansmith2425
      @christiansmith2425 4 года назад

      I would assume the 2.5 is made with very weak in comparison to the 3.5 and 3.7 when it comes to the connecting rods, pistons, fasteners and bearings which are exposed to immense amounts of stress when pushing any form of boost. Also the 2.5 is not compatible with the gtr manifold because their bored for different displacements.

    Hey I am looking at the moment to buy the exact same intake kit, and I would be very interrsted to know where you bought your ? and maybe get your email or something to communicate with you, cause we're putting a twin turbo in my 370z this winter, so it could be nice to get some of your advice if you'd like to !

      @narciso19G 6 лет назад

      Qlassicrepresent it’s not just the intake that has been changed it’s the whole R35 engine in there, that’s not a VQ engine in that z. You can tell by the location of the dip stick.

  • @spooler7828

    A stock plastic intake from a VQ37VHR performs much better. You don't need this for 10psi of boost. Only when you get to 22psi or higher. On a car pushing that kind of power you will loose whp when going to the RJM/GTR junk.

      Doug Mitchell and only 510hp thats ridiculous....i always scratch my head when people turbo this motor very unreliable once you go boost and too expensive.... 1 or 2j is the way to go once my de gets to about 250k dropping in a 1jz i can make that power and more with light mods......

    • @NiSE_Rafter
      @NiSE_Rafter 5 лет назад +10

      @@Ap-qf8kp maybe he want usable power? 510 at the wheels is still no joke despite what all the 1000+ hp cars on the internet would suggest and if he's running such an aggressive suspension setup he probably tracks the car where power isn't everything. Sure you can swap in a 2j or an ls to make big power more easily but not everyone cares for that big power. Everything has tradeoffs.
      Edit: suspension setup mentioned in another comment

      @@NiSE_Rafter my point is that the vq is not reliable once boosted I'm sure he's probably gone rebuild that engine one or twice through out its life im a big fan of the jz engines but im also a bigger fan of reliability.....the jz is reliability + instant power....the vq is better suited as a n/a setup much more fun to drive and you don't have worry about the motor....im following a guy on instagram with an 800hp 3.8 vq vhr 350z amazing car but he's replaced the motor more than 2 times every other post the car is down for some reason...
