Hey guys! Welcome back to another episode on a vicious Japanese car with turbos that are probably too big for its own good. But here at RU we embrace that, we live for that! This is Tanner's 2004 Nissan 350Z. Under the hood is a built twin turbo VQ35 with a number of stealthy modifications to make it 100% practical to be daily driven if that's what life calls for. On the current tune the car puts down 814HP to the wheels, which is approx. 950 at the crank. As far as Tanners knows, this is the most powerful 350Z on pump gas. 94 octane, no ethanol here. Insanity at it's finest. Enjoy!

My first car was an Altima 3.5...beat on that shit everyday and it never failed me...best 1200 bucks I ever spent, got rid of it at 350,000km, boosted wise I don’t know but as a daily it’s the most reliable engine you can get for a first car along with a ford 302, stay on top of oil changes and you won’t have issues
My De currently sits around 372k miles she's getting some work done but engine still strong 💪

Better than a lot of zs in all honesty. I agree though, never felt it needed more than wheels and coil overs
Some of these scenes look like the start of a racing game where you get like a 10 second cinematic shot of the car before it lets you take control of it

DE’s are just horrible N/A, but any VQ forced induced is powerful.
when ur 600+ or more on a vq it doesnt really matter if its de or hr at that point, they both need to be built
Considering it’s making 900hp on a built motor, I don’t think it matters at that point whether it’s a DE or HR

@@zenythgaming6705 literally, you make the de engine block stronger by adding a billet grill which will not only reinforce the engine but make it rev higher, de's are also cheaper to turbo than HRs, I love my de and I plan on going all out with it (1000hp goal, it wont be easy or cheap)
Only HR fan boys care about that, they are better by a small margin but the way the DE behaves IS superior.

How does a car with low profiles front tires and rear sidewall tires handle in the corners? You always hear the comparison between all 4 tires being the same profile but not so much about a mixture.

I like the 90''s 300zx Twin Turbo style and especially love the T-tops. That syle Z looks very sleek and very fast..only con is weight. It was pretty heavy 3, 643 lbs wet..
The 350z has always looked feminine to me. They do look much better with a rocket bunny kit but I do understand money doesn't grow on trees and those kits cost a lot for what they are. Then you have to run really crazy offset which changes the entire steering geometry which I'm sure isn't great for a performance orended build. Considering what he probably has invested into this car for that money your just getting a bone stock mk4 at best. So value for money a 350z is a no brainier as they cost dam near nothing. Besides he can't get an mk4 because I need to get one one day lol.

Car would feel alot faster if all the dump go straight to exhaust out to the back. Believe it or not, those are the benefit of back pressure. Tested it myself in the past.

Maybe highest hp VQ in Canada on pump gass, there are a few more powerful VQ just in Poland alone and we dont even have e85. Germany or Sweden probably have even more 350Zs w/ power over 800whp.

Here comes the DE haters! Lol before anybody starts throwing out fake news! The rods an pistons are the weak points in the DE engine. Once replaced with forged internals power is not an issue
Sadly the hate for the DE has been quite ingrained and it’s going to stay that way now. Even if it’s a fully built DE making 1000hp competing with drag supras. MFs will still be asking why someone would spend so much on a DE and not just get an HR. I’ve contemplated selling my ‘06. People don’t realize hate like this defeats the whole purpose of the car community and scares people away from it. I’ve learned to build my car for my own enjoyment tho and not to prove a point like the all the HR fanboys. They’re basically what people call Supra fanboys but rather than holding the Supra on a pedestal, they’re circle jerking the HR. Both engines are just as capable, ones just the cheaper platform to build with more options (hint: it’s the DE/Rev Up)

I am curious if the car has meth injection? cause that seems like alot of power on pump with that small of displacement, I know I wouldnt do it with out at least 1, 1mm water meth jet. I am doing similar power with a mkiv supra and I am running 2,1mm meth jets and a second pure meth system for high boost, the second kit makes the engine pull alot cleaner and smoother when it comes online. I have also never pulled the engine in my car in my time of owning it over the last 10 years, I credit that to the meth kit.
to the owner of the car I would say to you, if you dont have a meth kit yet, you should look into it, your engine will thank you, BTW very nice car and nice build.

He said he daily drives it in the summer. Could you imagine trying to find ethanol everywheee you go. It hardly exist in Canada as is. You can get barrels of it and such but that's really not practical.

How do you get that kind of power out of pump Gas? I bought a Turbo kit for my 370Z and there isn’t E85 where I live. So I have to figure out how to get the most out of pump gas.
