Should of kept exhaust stock
My Z mods include taking off the mud flaps/splash guards to give it a more linear look and powder coating the stock 17" rims black. I'm happy. The stock exhaust/engine sounds very good. Not too loud but definitely not quiet.

A lightweight flywheel makes rev-matching much easier. I have a 19 lbs flywheel with an upgraded clutch in mine, much better response and feel.
It does have too heavy of a flywheel. It also has lethargic gearing and poor power delivery like every 350z. The right way to modify a 350z involves a lightweight flywheel, a real limited slip diff, a shorter final drive, tires, and brakes. Done. Giant rims, speakers, and tech bullshit have nothing to do with it.
Wtf he said that Z has 270 hp he reduced the HP, my 2004 nissan 350Z with the single air intake came with 287hp STOCK and I already got it at 314hp with simple modifications

I'm not a car genius by any means, but I can 100% agree with the LWFW conversion. Just made the change last week when I installed my Action Clutch Stage 1 clutch w/LWFW, along with a wilwood clutch master/slave cylinder and SS clutch line - changed the entire way the car feels while driving in the best way possible. Shaved about 35 lbs off by getting rid of the OEM dual mass flywheel.
Yoan Davila 314? You're a fucking idiot. You can pull those numbers without a turbo. Any DE pulls about 240hp on a good day. Mine is a 2003 and pulled 244.
That was 287 at the crank, not at the wheels... and that was over a decade ago.
if you look harder you can find crazy good 350z's that handle really good and sound better.

You should get Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 and ART pipes. Do not start mix matching exhaust parts again. Proven for many years, number 1 exhaust note and power maker in the VQ community.
Motordyne G35 exotic speed makes beautiful exhaust for the VQ as well and for those that get smog checked. You don't need to remove pipes (art pipes) to pass.
I dreamed of owning a 350z all throughout childhood. And i have to say it was such a good decision to get one. My only regret was getting a 2006 instead of a 2007/8 with the HR motor. Nice build on this one, not a fan of the exhaust note, but I know it's in development!

Lightweight clutch & flywheel, Plenum spacer or a bigger plenum, Remap and exhaust are the first things i did to mine, mine is a DE and i'm getting just over 302bhp on the dyno and you wouldnt believe how big of a difference the flywheel makes.
Besides the exhaust sound (which you already said you're working on) the car is tasteful and well done man. Internet haters will always find something wrong with your build. Don't worry about em dude, your car is on point. I'd love to have this 350z. Great job.
Thanks! Ya some people don't realise we put this car together in 2 years and I'm not made of money lol . I wanted to try to get more power for cheap and I didn't want pipes all under the car everywhere. I definitely learned I sacrificed the sound quality which is very important to this crowd. I took it as a learning opportunity and we're going to see if the new exhaust part will correct it.
The 350z is such an iconic car. I remember playing need for speed underground 1&2 and gran turismo trilogy on the ps2 etc. These days we all know the GTR is main icon for nissan, but lets face it the 350z is like the forefather for the GTR. But how could I also forget about the G35 the 350z's twin lol, in my opinion they are all cool cars with such in captivating histories which makes them all unique in their own ways!😊

A couple days ago in Palm Beach I was out with my buddies and a car pulled up down the road in the night and my friends were assuming the type of car by the sound of the engine and they assumed it was a 350z and when the car got to us, it was a LaFerrari 😂. As a Z driver I’ve never felt better.

Got a 87 prelude as my daily. One time I was messing around prolly at 20mph accidentally put the car in park (it's an auto) and the trans is still perfect, the car is awesome.

i got test pipes on my Z and it sounds nothing like that. Its literally straight pipe to an agency power catback. Just get a tomei daaaaahhh. I would not be able to tell that is a VQ coming down the street.

Greg Matias I agree, hardly sounds like a VQ. This is coming from a guy who had an '03 350z with a Motordyne TDX2 Shockwave exhaust system and now an '07 350z Nismo with Nismo exhaust.

I’m sorry this 14 minute long video and I didn’t even understand what’s the right way to modify a Z lmao. I own a Z. Here’s a tip in under 14 mins: coilovers, meaty rest tires, backup camera, if you have a silver/white car make some black accents (if it’s black make some red accents be it the rims, the seats or what not), a crackling exhaust, maybe supercharge it if you have the bank and you’re good to go, assuming everything else is in tip top condition. You could throw a little duck tail spoiler on the back and a little front splitter if you need to back up some power but it could be purely aesthetic too.

Get an hr its from 2007 mine is 2006 but its becouse hr s in europe are expensive i got a low milage 2006 and i am still happy no oil consumption problems for now
You should come to Melbourne and I'll show you how to modify a 350z, that car has 20" wheels and an exhaust note that a civic would be embarrassed of.
If one of these was passing me on the road and I had my eyes closed I would think a 17 year old kid in a 1997 140hp civic with a wide body kit and a bunch of stickers was passing me.
The Roads Untraveled probably have the best sounding cars :)

Right without trying to sound like any typical Douche off the internet, everything about modifying that car is the wrong way for me, I am gutted as I own a 350Z HR and was hoping to learn something new or hope this video complimented the Underdog 350Z Here is a brief of what I would recommend and has worked for me: Buy a 350Z HR GT Pack (Comes with brembo's straight away) and a better engine altogether Coilovers either BC or KW Ark Grip Exhaust or Similar Intakes (I went for Nismo but plenty around) Test Pipes (Decat in UK) Good Tyres (not general tyres FFS) Banana Arm Bushes Rear Camber Arms Lightened Flywheel with Uprated CSC 20mm front spacers 25mm rear spacers And enjoy!

I’ve always had a problem with the panel gap between the hatch and bumper on 350’s, although the 370 improved on panel gaps all around, especially by the hatch

Dont understand the need for a short shifter gears are already pretty close. Ive got an 05 roadster just a blitz drop in filter and a big single circuit werks catback and it opened it up just the right amount no rasp and its quiet when you want it to be but when you put your foot in it the unmistakeable vq burble makes it way out has all the right pops and crackles

Most of the torque above 5000rpm? Not unless he's f'd up the tune -- torque curve is very flat from 3000rpm (or below) up to 5500rpm according to my 2006's dyno.

So, yeah, this exhaust sounds bad. It may just be the recording? I have an Invidia N1 exhaust on my 05 Z and it sounds incredible. I get compliments all the time.
