I've been driving for 14 years now and always drive till gas light comes on or close to it before fill ups and never had a fuel pump issue in any car i've owned. shoot my first car i got at 16 was a 96 maxima and i ran that thing out of gas a number of times and because i was low on cash in high school i always put 10 bucks in at a time so basically i drove that thing 85% of the time under a quarter tank. drove that car over 100k miles. still ran fine when i sold it but it was rusting out and i was then 23 yrs old at time(215k miles). great car and never an issue with the fuel pump. cant say i run cars out of gas anymore, but certainly drive em til gas light comes on, still never an issue. guess i'm lucky. also, I've learned to back in to parking spots with my 350z so not to tear up the front bumper.

hey bro, great video... what type of build are you doin on your 350z ? i just bought a 2005 anniversary edition and im not sure where i should start. just trying to get some idea's on how to keep her reliable and bullet proof ?
Anyone that laughs at you for checking your parking has never dealt with a body shop. When a 14 day repair turns into 94 days, they give you the car back with torn up leather interior, and their paint cracks 1 year later because they put a bunch of bondo under the paint it readjusts your attitude real quick.
What are you talking about the two minutes is for oil to fully circulate the entire engine which is what protects the engine from damage waiting for the oil to "heat up" does nothing you dont have a gauge to show you engine temp you only see coolant temp which doesn't have to be at normal operating temp other wise everybody would have to warm ther cars up for 15 to 20 minutes on cold days completely unnecessary unless you just want heat but if thats the case just drive a few blocks after the initial two minute warm up do your research here are some facts for you >>> In the thick of winter, the common wisdom is that when you are gearing up to take your truck out in the cold and snow, you should step outside, start up your engine, and let it idle to warm up. But contrary to popular belief, this does not prolong the life of your engine; in fact, it decreases it by stripping oil away from the engine's cylinders and pistons. In a nutshell, an internal combustion engine works by using pistons to compress a mixture of air and vaporized fuel within a cylinder. The compressed mixture is then ignited to create a combustion event-a little controlled explosion that powers the engine. When your engine is cold, the gasoline is less likely to evaporate and create the correct ratio of air and vaporized fuel for combustion. Engines with electronic fuel injection have sensors that compensate for the cold by pumping more gasoline into the mixture. The engine continues to run rich in this way until it heats up to about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. "That's a problem because you're actually putting extra fuel into the combustion chamber to make it burn and some of it can get onto the cylinder walls," Stephen Ciatti, a mechanical engineer who specializes in combustion engines at the Argonne National Laboratory, told Business Insider. "Gasoline is an outstanding solvent and it can actually wash oil off the walls if you run it in those cold idle conditions for an extended period of time."The life of components like piston rings and cylinder liners can be significantly reduced by gasoline washing away the lubricating oil, not to mention the extra fuel that is used while the engine runs rich. Driving your car is the fastest way to warm the engine up to 40 degrees so it switches back to a normal fuel to air ratio. Even though warm air generated by the heater core will flow into the cabin after a few minutes, idling does surprisingly little to warm the actual engine. The best thing to do is start the car, take a minute to knock the ice off your windows, and get going, Also hopping into your car and gunning it straightaway will put unnecessary strain on your engine. It takes 5 to 15 minutes for your engine to warm up while driving, so take it nice and easy for the first part of your drive. Performance cars often enforce that process with a graduated rev limiter-you don't get full RPM until the engine is up to temperature. Knowledge is power 👍
@@TALONATER Temp gauge means nothing in this case; once rpms reache 1100 at idle, you're good. Drive it normally BUT avoid full throttle until the oil is at actual operating temperature [around 212F] - it takes longer than you think; around 14 miles of steady driving.
Chris Forsberg did it to his drift 350z idk how but recently I’ve seen TJ Hunt do it as well. I think it would be cool seeing someone show everyone else how to make it work. I was thinking about doing it my self but am tight on cash with college in the way. I also heard that it’s a decent fit in the 350z.
370z dash is way better in my opinion since it’s one huge piece instead of the 3 piece 350z dash that makes weird noises when you drive and looks like crap held together with rubber bands lol
Hey what's up bro unfortunately I have no idea what my 0 to 60 is sorry honestly it's probably terrible because my car is so light now I have major traction issues ☹️
i didnt do cams but i hear 272's are the way to go if your cam lift goes over 11.0 mm you must upgrade your valve springs also on the intake side if your lift goes over 11.0 mm theres a chance your piston may come in contact with your valve when the evtc advaces the timing if this is your case its highly recommendedthat you recess the pistons for adequate clearance thats all i know 👍
Yea that's what I got I my end also as far as the 272. But yea I'm thinking about having my headers ported an polished an changing the lifters Cam lobes an bearings while I'm at it. I jus got my JimWolfTech clutch kit in mail so get that put in on Monday an see what that does. Prolly have the z1 Ecu tune pretty soon too which I heard was either 300 or 600. Can z1 get rid of my chrismastree dash while theyre doin the Ecu tune for emissions an mpg
oh man your gonna love the jim wolf setup you should consider the rjmperformance clutch pedal as well its soooo amazing also its 300 for a mail in reflash as for the lights the cel is the only one they can ditch i have a video for removing all those lights 👍
Question regarding #7, I have a g37 coupe and I will at times flash my high beams to signal other traffic to go etc. Does doing this actually negatively impact the longevity of my lights?
G35 have bi-xenon HID’s. It moves a flap letting light out higher down the road. Its not doing anything to the ballast/bulbs. Now wear on the solenoid or whatever moves those flaps (never really looked) is probably increased. Cant say ive heard of those going out tho
my personal opinion is it will be just fine others will argue with me but if it actually does damage to your engine wouldnt they have taken it off the shelves years ago 🤔
Won’t hurt anything. Higher octane just helps stop premature detonation due to high compression/heat. You can always go high octane, race/track fuel is 100 octane in CA. But never go low octane with a high compression engine! You can destroy your engine FAST!
I let mine warm up for 5 minutes summer or winter I have to agree 10 minutes is definitely Overkill even in winter but if you're just trying to get some heat it's not going to hurt anything 👍
@@TALONATER only reason I wait so long is because when I don't, I notice the oil pressure gets pretty high when I'm not even getting on it, i.e. 100psi @ 2-3k rpm, idk how bad that is to do all the time

Glad they only use cheap plastic specially for "Americans" because.. it seems like they love cheap plastic. European 350z don't have the problems with the plastic interior. My 350z from 04 is looking brand new from the inside. And i daily this fucker for 160km each day. Also got no problems with the doorhandles. And many others things American 350z owners complain about. Also the 350z in EU was about 50.000 euro new. The 370z is 100.000 euro new nowdays because of the CO2 levels. But got my car this week at the dealership. Replacement of 6 spark plugs they rated it at 370 euro. WTF
that is some very interesting info bro sounds like we did get much cheaper plastic than you and cheaper door handles 😔 as for the 370 euro for a plug change wow should have done it yourself took me about 30 minutes to change mine 👍
We only got one version. Track version(full option). I think the thing is that CO2 is heavily taxed here. You can't sell cheap looking "sports" cars with high CO2 output. Because the extra CO2 will outweigh the little extra cost to put higher quality stuff on the car to compete with more luxery sportscars. For example, a new Porsche with higher performance than the 370z is 30.000 euro cheaper than the 370z. Just because the porsche has lower CO2 output. (And you know offcoarse that the german's have been caught red handed with CO2 scandals. Thanks to the USA the whole CO2 rules here are becoming more fair now. Americans punishes our carmakers, we will punish your software companies. :) Fair deal right. For the 350z, i think they just tried to put the 350z as cheap as possible on the US market with a cheap V6 engine but with good performance. Good value for money.
that is crazy about the c02 it all makes total sense now and yes i agree they were put together as cheap as possible really the motor tranny, diff and brembos are the only qualty parts on our versions
what makes you think i think I know it all just sharing my knowledge and these are literally common sense things im laughing at how ignorant you seem to be at judging peoples videos 🤣🤣🤣
Hey theretrofitsource.com is a good olace to buy those stupid expensive d series bulbs my d3s average 130 a piece I got a set for 75 they use morimoto brand one of the best in the market
about the fuel pumps you are wrong mate. fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel running inside them not surrounding them. having said that it doesnt matter if the gas is at the lower part. what does matter however is that due to the movement of the car you have fuel moving around the gas tank so basically you are risking leaving the fuel pump without touching any fuel and yea ..that would gradually burn it up
Great points mate, and I’ve had to replace the clutch because of excessive use in traffic here. Replaced both door handles although the first one was done by the $tealer$hip for an insane $300! Did the other myself with a spare from eBay for $10! And that door-leg-crush is real! 🙀
Thanks for the great videos! When the kids came along, I stopped buying 2 door cars. Now, they're old enough to drive, so I bought myself an 03 touring (today). I'm glued to your videos! Thanks for all you do!
Lmao I had a lowered Camaro and a BMW Z4 I know better than anyone you never pull all the way up in any sports cars and you should always take bumps at an angle. But people please do not be that jackass who leaves their high beams on on dark roads when on coming traffic is approaching 1. It’s illegal 2. It’s plain rude. Turn them off wait for passing traffic to go by and when it’s clear if you still need them turn them back on
What if you live in communist california and pay over $5.00 a gallon for premium? Can I allow my Z to drive under a 1/4 tank every other day…..or? Will California pay to replace my fuel pumps to compensate for the enormous inflation on gas prices? No? Weird…..they won’t fix my cracked wheel either. Another lovely thing about this state are the potholes we pay taxes to have fixed….but don’t get fixed… Yeah ……hate my state…
Many say you don't have to warm up a car anymore...however; my Cadillac CTS V-Sport locks you out of higher revs/engine load until the engine is at a proper temperature so I am siding with a warm up is always good.
Absolutely whoever is telling you that doesn't know anything about an engine and how long it takes it to get to Normal operating temperature I think some people just assume it just automatically happens the second you turn the key lol cars have definitely changed over the years however an engine and how it operates and lubricates itself is still exactly the same 👍

@@TALONATER that's right... I (wrongly) thought that you were saying you 'warmed' up your car in 2 minutes before you give it holy hell.
No no i always drive for a bit before that its all good bro 👍
@@TALONATER Temp gauge means nothing in this case; once rpms reache 1100 at idle, you're good. Drive it normally BUT avoid full throttle until the oil is at actual operating temperature [around 212F] - it takes longer than you think; around 14 miles of steady driving.
I feel like were beating a dead horse here 🐴 🤣🤣🤣
You should get a 370z dash! It’s the one piece and should fit snug.
i never thought about that before but i dont know about fitment 🤔
Chris Forsberg did it to his drift 350z idk how but recently I’ve seen TJ Hunt do it as well. I think it would be cool seeing someone show everyone else how to make it work. I was thinking about doing it my self but am tight on cash with college in the way. I also heard that it’s a decent fit in the 350z.
370z dash is way better in my opinion since it’s one huge piece instead of the 3 piece 350z dash that makes weird noises when you drive and looks like crap held together with rubber bands lol
i will check all of this out 👍
lol 100% agreed 👍
Iv got a v35 350gt coupe skyline and the doors kill my shins every day
😖
How do you run the 0-60 bro (here we say 0-100 km/h) really liking your channel & love your passion. Salutations from Québec Canada !
Hey what's up bro unfortunately I have no idea what my 0 to 60 is sorry honestly it's probably terrible because my car is so light now I have major traction issues ☹️
@@TALONATER Damn bro yeah I understand that.. I haven't even tough it was a possibility!
I have a 350z convertible roadster ,n I know nothing about keeping it up.
🤔
Love the car man, is that the track 350? Whered you get all the carbon panels?
Thanks man its not a track model its a touring six speed all the carbon is seibon and i purchased all the carbon from www.thmotorsports.com
Hey bluezguy, I'm looking at tomie camshafts an I was wondering if there's a right size to get, or any advice will help.
i didnt do cams but i hear 272's are the way to go if your cam lift goes over 11.0 mm you must upgrade your valve springs also on the intake side if your lift goes over 11.0 mm theres a chance your piston may come in contact with your valve when the evtc advaces the timing if this is your case its highly recommendedthat you recess the pistons for adequate clearance thats all i know 👍
Dude, the door thing. It’s happen to me and my BF now. Lol
oh man its brutal 👍
Has no one said anything about this mans Epiphone stove. Hey man you tune that stove to half step or keep it in standard? Lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What is the perfect tire setup for 18 x 9.5 and 18 x 10.5 ? I want RPF1's but not sure yet. I want them sitting perfectly flush to the fenders.
i have 18×9.5 all around with 265/40/18 and i love it👍
Yea that's what I got I my end also as far as the 272.
This is an excellent video.
thanks man 👍
Question regarding #7, I have a g37 coupe and I will at times flash my high beams to signal other traffic to go etc. Does doing this actually negatively impact the longevity of my lights?
If your high beams are hid yes if halogen no 👍
G35 have bi-xenon HID’s. It moves a flap letting light out higher down the road. Its not doing anything to the ballast/bulbs. Now wear on the solenoid or whatever moves those flaps (never really looked) is probably increased. Cant say ive heard of those going out tho
Knew most of this, but I did learn a couple of things. Where did you get the cf lip and the harness bar?
seibon cw style lip www.thmotorsports.com the harness bar is a k harness bar modified by me i cut the legs off its from www.enjukuracing.com 👍
Thanks! Love the build
Give her hell bubbies!
Will do captain 👍
Where’d you get those vented fenders from? They look 🔥
I got them from a company called Seibon 👍
you could just reverse park for number 8
Facts 👍
More like thatcarbonzguy
😂😂😂
That's weird the doors are so heavy on the z. I've got a g35 sedan and it's got the lightest doors I've ever seen on any car.
So is your stove actually an amp or do you just have that epiphone sticker on there for fun?
😂😂😂 it's just a stove bro 👍
for the doorhandle problem does anyone know if there are different aftermarket ones that are better and stronger?
Absolutely not the OEM ones are the strongest and they're junk everything aftermarket is even worse there internal parts are plastic 👍
@@TALONATER damn that’s upsetting so I just gotta keep replacing them
Yes sir it's incredibly annoying but it is what it is bro 👍
@@TALONATER well thank you for responding helps
Anytime bro 👍
Interesting stuff! Thx
👍
did you daily your 350? i was looking into getting one for my next car!
Nieko looks like a track set up so almost definitely not. Doesn't mean you can't daily them though, I'm planning on dailying mine
yes sir been daily driving it for over 6 years 👍
Quick question man I run octane booster every time I fill up my car is that a bad thing or is that good for my car?
my personal opinion is it will be just fine others will argue with me but if it actually does damage to your engine wouldnt they have taken it off the shelves years ago 🤔
Won’t hurt anything. Higher octane just helps stop premature detonation due to high compression/heat. You can always go high octane, race/track fuel is 100 octane in CA. But never go low octane with a high compression engine! You can destroy your engine FAST!
Is it weird I let mine warm up 5+ min in the summer and 10 in the winter
I let mine warm up for 5 minutes summer or winter I have to agree 10 minutes is definitely Overkill even in winter but if you're just trying to get some heat it's not going to hurt anything 👍
@@TALONATER only reason I wait so long is because when I don't, I notice the oil pressure gets pretty high when I'm not even getting on it, i.e. 100psi @ 2-3k rpm, idk how bad that is to do all the time
@@bamudeadson hmmmm that is weird 🤔
Awesome thanks man, also my friend jus said something about turning off the anti theft before I pull the motor, but I unplugged the battery an started unhooking sensors before he told me that. What should I do?
if you unplugged the battery there's no power, if there's no power the ecu will have no idea your doing anything at all your good 👍
what carbon fenders are thosw?!
Seibon 👍
Waiting 3 min from cold start to drive is a myth..
Okay fair enough I'll give you a shot if you're going to make a blanket statement like that you're going to need to back it up with facts I'll be waiting 👍
Better safe than sorry
Do you know where you can buy new door hinges? Yes I have smashed my shin, OUCH!!!
ebay most likely will be the cheapest 👍
thatbluezguy yeah that's what I thought thx!
👍
Just avoid parking lots with cement stops. WTF is with those things!?
i agree those things are soooo stupid 👍
Check out my 350z hatch switch mod
Will do bro 👍
Giving it holy hell lol
I have an 06 350z can I mod?
Yes of course you can mod your 06 350Z
Door handle are 18 bucks on eBay 😂
😎 👍
thatbluezguy what year is your 350z?
2005
Ahh, I'm either going to get the headlights you got or 2006 OEMs. For my 2003, do you know if the 06 are compatible? An was it easy to put your Depo? Didn't need anything else? It was just plug in play?
there is some wire swapping well the plug itself is different from 03 to the 06 up the depo's were crazy easy to install just got to swap the wiring harness over and your good to go should you decide on the depo's fyi there a quarter the price of oem's i got a full how to install video 👍
How much does your Z weight now?
2720 but i have since ditched more weight 👍
put a 370z dash in your car it fits and it looks better
i 100% agree and its on the to do list for this summer 👍
thatbluezguy if you do this. Plz make a detailed video
this will be happening and will do sir 👍
Good value for money.
that is crazy about the c02 it all makes total sense now and yes i agree they were put together as cheap as possible really the motor tranny, diff and brembos are the only qualty parts on our versions
u should boost ur z :)
i am highly considering 👍
All same shit with the 370z too
Buy one ... :( I did
👍
He thinks he knows it all about the gas I’m laughing rn
what makes you think i think I know it all just sharing my knowledge and these are literally common sense things im laughing at how ignorant you seem to be at judging peoples videos 🤣🤣🤣
Hey what kind of oil do you use?? 5w30? Full synthetic? Blend? Any brands specifically and oil filter brands?
Enjoy bro ruclips.net/video/ecNmssqclz4/видео.html 👍
Hey theretrofitsource.com is a good olace to buy those stupid expensive d series bulbs my d3s average 130 a piece I got a set for 75 they use morimoto brand one of the best in the market
oh nice man thanks for the link 👍
thatbluezguy heck yeah man good content btw my buddy got a z and isn't quite as mechanically inclined like I am he's in training lolol
thanks and yeah i have some friends who cant even do an oil change 😆 but you gotta start somewhere 👍
thatbluezguy. He's starting with valvecover gaskets haha X,D
I mean he knows a little buuuuut this is no simple task on a Nissan lol
wow valve cover gaskets is a big job on a v6 👍
about the fuel pumps you are wrong mate. fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel running inside them not surrounding them. having said that it doesnt matter if the gas is at the lower part. what does matter however is that due to the movement of the car you have fuel moving around the gas tank so basically you are risking leaving the fuel pump without touching any fuel and yea ..that would gradually burn it up
i recently watched a video explaining that i never knew that thanks for the correction 👍
Great points mate, and I’ve had to replace the clutch because of excessive use in traffic here. Replaced both door handles although the first one was done by the $tealer$hip for an insane $300! Did the other myself with a spare from eBay for $10! And that door-leg-crush is real! 🙀
$300 😱 ...hey man they get us all at least once until were comfortable working on our cars ourselves 👍
Thanks for the great videos! When the kids came along, I stopped buying 2 door cars. Now, they're old enough to drive, so I bought myself an 03 touring (today). I'm glued to your videos! Thanks for all you do!
Thank you so much man I really appreciate that it means a lot to me 🙏
glad you’re back brother 🤝
Ohhh how many times that door has smashed my shin... fuuuuu
😂😂😂
Great Video!
thanks man absolutely love your channel 👍
Lmao I had a lowered Camaro and a BMW Z4 I know better than anyone you never pull all the way up in any sports cars and you should always take bumps at an angle. But people please do not be that jackass who leaves their high beams on on dark roads when on coming traffic is approaching 1. It’s illegal 2. It’s plain rude. Turn them off wait for passing traffic to go by and when it’s clear if you still need them turn them back on
100% agreed bro 👍
Wish i had a z and great video !
Thanks bro and start saving bro 👍
I graduated high school 2020💪🏼 and I’m a buy a 350Z been wanting one for so long and these tips are gonna help me out thanks man💪🏼
Congratulations on graduating bro 👏👏👏 and good luck on getting your 350Z 👍
Did you buy it yet?
What if you live in communist california and pay over $5.00 a gallon for premium? Can I allow my Z to drive under a 1/4 tank every other day…..or? Will California pay to replace my fuel pumps to compensate for the enormous inflation on gas prices? No? Weird…..they won’t fix my cracked wheel either. Another lovely thing about this state are the potholes we pay taxes to have fixed….but don’t get fixed…
Yeah ……hate my state…
😂😂😂😂
Many say you don't have to warm up a car anymore...however; my Cadillac CTS V-Sport locks you out of higher revs/engine load until the engine is at a proper temperature so I am siding with a warm up is always good.
Absolutely whoever is telling you that doesn't know anything about an engine and how long it takes it to get to Normal operating temperature I think some people just assume it just automatically happens the second you turn the key lol cars have definitely changed over the years however an engine and how it operates and lubricates itself is still exactly the same 👍
