For access to emergency gas cap opening, use a 3/4 inch hole saw or larger depending on how much room you need to gain access to open a access hole and either keep a small section of coat hanger that's been pre-bent to the right proportions or even cleaned welding rod in your rear seat glove compartment or thread a length of wire with a knot on one end. Fish it through or loop it over and around the actuator and have it like a pull line that remains hidden under the trunk carpeting.

Richard Gollen I did and I didn't. I wired the Viper into the door activating that feature through my remote, that's how I rolled them up in the video.
Please be more specific. I have the clicking noise you talked about with the rear drive shaft that you said can be fixed with thread lock. Where exactly do I put the thread lock? Thanks
I know this is an old video but I’m new to the 350 scene and looking to buy one, what is the monitoring system you have in the dash cubby above the radio shown slightly at 15:43?
Two small tabs below the fuel cap also allows the fuel cap to screw into them. Careful that there's no fuel on the cap otherwise it will drip on your paint
Mark Smith But then you have to walk all the way up to the vehicle. You might as well get in. My way you look like a boss cause you roll them down as you walk towards the vehicle.
Not sure if it has been noted here but the compartment behind the passenger seat has a floor that lifts up for more hidden space. Well mine does anyway.
What's the clutch slave cylinder issue? I might have it. And what's the fix? If it's what I experience, many who replaced the master cylinder didn't fix it.
Also does your temp gauge change between different systems? I have a button on my cluster that I hit and it will cycle through temp, mpg, rpm, miles till empty, and a few other settings. I can even adjust my redline shift light from that little gauge.
Zurita Zuritax....Youre gonna need tons of different size LEDs, Resistors/solder and all of them must be the same color temp and quality. Not something that can be done easily for gauge clusters, time clock, vanity lights and etc dash panel bulbs. Trust me I've looked into it

53/47 is not some arbitrary number because they couldn't move the motor... The 370Z and GT-R also share the same weight distribution because it just works.
@@AnthonyJ350 same I daily drove a 370Z Nismo and now a 350Z enthusiast and they're both amazing around corners. If they're making a stink that means they're not really true enthusiasts ;)
Airflow. First, the basic. Intake, exhaust, etc. Then manifolds, plenum spacers, airbox. If you're gonna turbo, do that at some point. At this point you'll want to have it tuned, extra air wont help much if the computer doesn't adjust flow for it. You can go further. Forged pistons and the likes. But i don't know anything about that.
my windows keep on wanting to come down after I make them go up with the interior switch..For them to stay up ....I have to literally flick and let go 4-5 times..... What can I do to correct this so the windows go up and stay up like every other car I've owned....
First it's a 2 stage switch, only pull it half way to not send it into auto lift mode, which will allow it to stop all the way up. Second, to reset the calibration on the window motor, you need to remove the door panel to access the reset button. I'd suggest looking up a video on the procedure, as it's too much to type.
Jimmy Anderson It should. Try putting your key in the door and holding unlock (should roll them down) then hold it in the lock position (should roll them up).
I think insurance all depends on the area you live, but in general this car would cost more than a Civic for insurance pretty much anywhere. If you upgrade the car it will become faster, but for what it is, it will have poor fuel mileage still.
The full sound system is roughly 5 grand in product alone (retail) and the engine is just bolt ons, you can check my 350Z playlist to see all the videos and product we install.
Anthony! I have purchased a set of seven inch light bars for my 2006 350Z convertible. I have also bought a separate wiring harness with its own on off switch. Do you have any suggestions on where I can run the wiring into the cab ? I’ve looked at attaching the lights to the “bumper” and power directly to the battery. What do you suggest?
The biggest quirk I see in the 350 is the engine. Especially that timing chain tensioning system. The chain will never fail, but the tensioner and those skid pads are problem prone as the engine gets miles on it. Most of the people I know here and on many forums talk of the 'start up rattle' of the 350Z. I noticed they fixed this in the 3.7L engine of the 370Z and G37 coupe. well, at least I have yet to hear a 370Z have that initial start up rattle I hear in my 350 and others. And yes, I have replaced the chains, tensioner and those skid pads as well as the water pump.
archangele1 That's a good one, thanks for sharing! At what mileage was it making that noise and would you drive the car pretty hard compared to a regular car?
I bought my 07 back in 13 with 50k mi... no problems what so ever with this car engine wise and I just got to doing a full tune up @ 120k mi.. only thing I've had to replace is the driver door handle which is common to stop working (I could get out but couldn't get in) which is a serious issue for 2 seater.. other than that this is a great car fun to drive and won't let u down.. still fast as lightning.
Depends on you budget and what you ultimately want from a car. I could have bought a 370Z but purchasing that car would max out my budget. So I decided to go with a platform that still had lots of performance potential that left me room to spend money to modify it. I don't like answering that question so I just tell people why I chose the car I ended up with.
350 Zed.....Thankyou 🇬🇧

Just in case you guys also didn't know. the "ugly" tan interior Z's don't have the peeling/scratching paint problem, even on my 03 ^.^
Ugly or tan interiors? Color is very subjective and individual. Some people prefer a lighter colored interior.
you missed one thing, how to bring the windows back up, put the key in the door and put it in lock position, hold there until your windows go up
Richard Gollen I did and I didn't. I wired the Viper into the door activating that feature through my remote, that's how I rolled them up in the video.
also forgot about how to disable and enable the horn lock function
Please be more specific. I have the clicking noise you talked about with the rear drive shaft that you said can be fixed with thread lock. Where exactly do I put the thread lock? Thanks
Here's the video we did on that subject ruclips.net/video/3ipx1OWx3kk/видео.html
I know this is an old video but I’m new to the 350 scene and looking to buy one, what is the monitoring system you have in the dash cubby above the radio shown slightly at 15:43?
Here's the video I made on it ruclips.net/video/l9zGcAY3MQA/видео.html
Two small tabs below the fuel cap also allows the fuel cap to screw into them. Careful that there's no fuel on the cap otherwise it will drip on your paint
Thanks for the tip!
Can't roll the windows down or up using just the key fob with my 350 :(
Mark Smith Need to go aftermarket then like the Viper unit I installed.
use the key
Mark Smith But then you have to walk all the way up to the vehicle. You might as well get in. My way you look like a boss cause you roll them down as you walk towards the vehicle.
Push and hold the unlock button.
Did you ever get around to ask nissan about the ground strap? Only reson I can think of would be for grounding the o2 sensors
I haven't been able to figure out a definite answer yet honestly.
Not sure if it has been noted here but the compartment behind the passenger seat has a floor that lifts up for more hidden space.
Well mine does anyway.
poindexterrrrr No I didn't mention that, thanks for that one.
Dang! this man is prepared
What's the clutch slave cylinder issue? I might have it. And what's the fix? If it's what I experience, many who replaced the master cylinder didn't fix it.
They leak due to over extension. Replace the slave and install the RJM clutch pedal assembly ruclips.net/video/E5cpYiVZNRI/видео.html
Are there any things about the convertible that you can do a video
They kind of look like bath tubs with the top down.... Sorry, I'm not a fan how they look. Wish they did a t-top or targa for these cars.
Hey I’m looking for a 350 which years should I stay away from? Which years are the hest
2005.5 and up have the most updates. 2006 has the revup and newer interior. 2007+ has the HR motor
Also does your temp gauge change between different systems? I have a button on my cluster that I hit and it will cycle through temp, mpg, rpm, miles till empty, and a few other settings. I can even adjust my redline shift light from that little gauge.
Mine does the same.
Anthony why not change that ugly orange color on the gauge cluster???? Can you make a tutorial on it please? I am having some trouble with mine
Zurita Zuritax Ughhhh that's so much work lol
Zurita Zuritax Maybe next year when I have nothing else to do to the car.
Zurita Zuritax....Youre gonna need tons of different size LEDs, Resistors/solder and all of them must be the same color temp and quality. Not something that can be done easily for gauge clusters, time clock, vanity lights and etc dash panel bulbs. Trust me I've looked into it
I noticed you installed a screen in your dash for the tuner. Which tuner and screen do you have installed. thanks
Lex Pro Greddy's Infometer Touch
Thanks and I appreciate all your great videos
Lex Pro No problem. It will work on 350Z except for 2007+ I'll try to do a video on it this week or next.
How can I tell what what model of Z I have..? Mine is a 2008 but I cannot tell if its a Touring, Grand Touring, Enthusiast, ect... It has full leather, heated seats, cruise control, VDC, Navigation, Splash Guards for each tire, And lip spoiler if that helps...
Matt Pearson Sounds like a Grand Touring. Do you have Brembo brakes? You can also call the dealership with the VIN and they can confirm your trim level.
Yes, it has the Brembo package as well.
I thought on the Grand Touring the front wheels were 18" and the rear wheels were 19"... Mine are 18" all around.
How's it possible to get the windows to go back up. A work in the wiring or wasn't too sure on that
Ya you have to wire into the window module in the driver's door. I do wiring for a living so this was normal (or maybe expected lol) for me to do.
oh so that would be done by anyone whose experienced. I'm a new 350zedd owner so I've look through and learning as much as possible. Your video just threw me off lol. i was think alound "so they can go up!" haha
Haha, they can if you have a good installer wire up your aftermarket security properly.
AnthonyJ350 would a different key fob be aftermarket as well? i have a base model 08 350z thats an HR
Yes typically a different key fob is aftermarket.
When I took off my factory exhaust and replaced it with the Tomei I just left the ground off and didn’t notice anything different. If it does do something it’s nothing major if I’m wrong lemme know
I don't think your wrong. Did you notice any worse radio reception maybe?
Ok i just got to the hatch part with the lack of space. i just wanna say i fit a brand new Cooling Fan Assembly for my Z in the hatch and still had viewing room.
Cooling fan for what in the back?
@@AnthonyJ350 my cooling fan assembly went bad I needed a new one so I put it in my Z. Lmao
@@KamikaseGamer OH, I thought by "fit" you installed one back there lol
53/47 is not some arbitrary number because they couldn't move the motor... The 370Z and GT-R also share the same weight distribution because it just works.
I'm not saying it is. Some enthusiasts make a big stink though wanting it to be 50/50 static. I don't really care, I like how the car drives.
@@AnthonyJ350 same I daily drove a 370Z Nismo and now a 350Z enthusiast and they're both amazing around corners. If they're making a stink that means they're not really true enthusiasts ;)
im thinking of getting a Z next summer, only problem for me is space. is it possible to get a foldable wheelchair inside?
I'm not sure how thin it folds. The rear storage does allow for ok length but it's very shallow.
@@AnthonyJ350 all right. guess ill have to get to a dealer and check it out myself then! :D
Thank you, very good detail and clear understanding video, keep it up.
Thank you!
What should be my first things to do when wanting to mod the car ie motor trans suspension exhaust
First do small things like catback exhaust and intake and stuff.
This is my top list ruclips.net/video/62hfePo6vP8/видео.html
the cardholder on mine is a cup holder score
Nice! I just use the one in the center or the door panel.
my windows keep on wanting to come down after I make them go up with the interior switch..For them to stay up ....I have to literally flick and let go 4-5 times.....
I'd suggest looking up a video on the procedure, as it's too much to type.
thank you sir @@Lazaralis
Sounds like the motors have to be taken apart and cleaned.
Thanks to this video, I've realised the design features of the 350Z are so mad it makes my Alfa Romeo GTV look like a sensible town car.
Thanks for watching!
Wait you cant manually open the gas tank without ripping apart your trunk?
Doesn't seem like it.
Does the 53-47 philosophy include the weight of the passenger and fuel? Or it just the dry weight?
julianbryantjb I'm really not sure. They were pretty practical with the car so it's safe to assume they were considering fluids and driver
the motorized hatch, motorized gas lid...etc.. is that carried throughout all years of the 350z
Timmy Peterson As far as I have seen yes.
Thank you
so glad this video was on a DE
Thanks for watching!
I like that alarm system you have on it, is there a way you can tell me the link to get that specific one?
John Fraga Check out Viper.com. I have the 5806V.
Awesome! Thanks man, my Z didn't come with the key fob for some strange reason and this one looks pretty nice.
John Fraga Ya it works really good.
Does the auto wind down work for the Japanese models? aka Fairlady Z? My factory keys in NZ seem to look different.
Jimmy Anderson It should. Try putting your key in the door and holding unlock (should roll them down) then hold it in the lock position (should roll them up).
Didn't work :( my keys look like this, autokeystransponder.com/Uploadpic/1003/10/201003100810359408.jpg
Love the vids though.
Jimmy Anderson Oh weird, I have never seem those. I guess electronically they might be very different compared to North America.
I have a base model with a manual and it came stock with a carbon fiber drive shaft. They all have this drive shaft.
archangele1 Thanks for letting us know! Did you end up upgrading the rear diff with an LSD unit?
I have a few questions, is it true insurance is expensive for it and if you upgrade it is this car good on gas thanks.
I think insurance all depends on the area you live, but in general this car would cost more than a Civic for insurance pretty much anywhere. If you upgrade the car it will become faster, but for what it is, it will have poor fuel mileage still.
I have an '06 manual. do you know how to add cruise control on it?
I'm looking into getting a z very soon, can you tell me the best engine to go for?
HR 2007+ is the best. 2006 REVUP has good power numbers as well. They all can be pretty good.
Hey bro idk if you gonna reply to this but I wanted to ask where and how much that stereo or whatever that says the details on the engine at
The full sound system is roughly 5 grand in product alone (retail) and the engine is just bolt ons, you can check my 350Z playlist to see all the videos and product we install.
I just got a Z33 and I was looking for a key fab. I saw yours and was interested in what brand it was. Any info?
kaden Christensen Mine's a Viper unit (5806V). It can do whatever you want depending on the installer.
This video will help with running wire ruclips.net/video/bXElAdXWgnY/видео.html
If I was looking at a Z should i just be looking at the 2007-08 models with the HR models or would I be ok with an older model with the other engines?
WhinslorCheck I see no problems with the older ones. 2003 to 2005 makes less power. Are you getting a manual?
I am looking for a manual, yes.
WhinslorCheck Do you want more performance or more of a bargain?
I'd be willing to wait so I can get more performance, I of course would want the best deal.
My 04 roadster has a cup holder instead of condom tray too lol. You forgot the aluminum hood.
Good point, I thought people new about that. Thanks for the suggestion!
Dude that condoms compartment has me dying 🤣
Ya I had a good chuckle trying to find a use for that compartment lol.
Where did you get the carbon fiber film for the interior door handles?
Mr. Precision Just found it on ebay
Neat key assembly... I dont have that key fob with my 350z, can only unlock, lock, open hatch, andnpanic
It's an aftermarket Viper system.
AnthonyJ350 Might have to check that out... Looks awsome-thank you as well!
You should watch the video where I show all the features I hooked up. ruclips.net/video/QEiJREXkLAI/видео.html
Awesome reviews. I gonna have it soon
Thanks for watching!
what would you say is the best year and model of 350 or 370 z ?????
Depends on you budget and what you ultimately want from a car. I could have bought a 370Z but purchasing that car would max out my budget. So I decided to go with a platform that still had lots of performance potential that left me room to spend money to modify it. I don't like answering that question so I just tell people why I chose the car I ended up with.
rcisourmiddlename 300zx was the best z
