Can you please confirm: in Great Britain, is the letter "z" pronounced as "zed"?

AnthonyJ350 in New Zealand they meet in the middle by pronouncing it “zeed” as in rhymes with seed, with enunciation on the first part of the word
Can we acknowledge the fact that you have to add two extra letters to resemble how you pronounce it? Kinda indicates that you pronounce it wrong..

is the most comfortable car I have ever owned. Mine is
a base model with a 6 speed and it just plain fits my physique perfectly
as does my newer 2014 Infiniti Q60S. The basic Z / G35-37 and Q60 platform
just plain fits for me.

ADD-ON: you can roll up the window on a 35oz by putting the key on the drivers door and turning it into the lock position and holding it there until it tools up all the way :D. Great video btw 👍👍👍

AnthonyJ350 Thanks for all the great videos on the 350 Z. ive been looking for one for over a year, finally bought a 2003 Touring 2 weeks ago, with 91k in mint shape. The thing that i loved soon as i saw it, was real wood grain center console and door trim, and speaker trim etc etc. everyone posts videos how to paint them etc, the real wood dash gives a real professional look. never seen one like it. im the 3rd owner, guessing the original owner got it.

Watching this video was satisfying. You really hit the nail with your logic about the Z. I remember back when nissan first marketed its features. They emphasized on the suspension and zero center of gravity while sitting in the driver seat. The suspension on the 1st gen G35s desperately needed a complete overhaul right out of the box. Compared to the tight smaller frame on Z's, it was designed with more thought in my opinion. You also brought up a very good analogy. Its better to get something right the first time around versus having to comeback and do it again. not many would think to use bedliner paint. at the end of the day it all comes down to personal prefs and finding that sweet spot. Your videos just gives me more confirmation that we made the right choices on buying the right cars to own. For that you have my full respect for this channel. Great stuff man.

Well it was the first thing I thought of when I found that compartment.
instead of hanging the petrol cap on the flap, you can place the threaded part between the 2 notches directly underneath the filler

For access to emergency gas cap opening, use a 3/4 inch hole saw or larger depending on how much room you need to gain access to open a access hole and either keep a small section of coat hanger that's been pre-bent to the right proportions or even cleaned welding rod in your rear seat glove compartment or thread a length of wire with a knot on one end. Fish it through or loop it over and around the actuator and have it like a pull line that remains hidden under the trunk carpeting.

Also does your temp gauge change between different systems? I have a button on my cluster that I hit and it will cycle through temp, mpg, rpm, miles till empty, and a few other settings. I can even adjust my redline shift light from that little gauge.

It's a 12V outlet for me, and i still have the other one in the center of the car behind the seats. Also, another cup holder? That is hilarious. I counted 6 stock cupholders when i bought mine, including a stock insert for the center console. So you could have 7 drinks for your 2 seater.

I have purchased a set of seven inch light bars for my 2006 350Z convertible.
I have also bought a separate wiring harness with its own on off switch.
Do you have any suggestions on where I can run the wiring into the cab ?
I’ve looked at attaching the lights to the “bumper” and power directly to the battery.

There is a sub woffer hole behind the drivers seat. You have to take this pannel off and stuff. Learned quite a bit though ive owned mine 2 years and I didn't know half of this!
When I took off my factory exhaust and replaced it with the Tomei I just left the ground off and didn’t notice anything different. If it does do something it’s nothing major if I’m wrong lemme know

Hamster Smash HR is much better than the DE. I'd stay away from the DE
2006 Rev-Up? Be sure to always check the oil. :) Most people advice not to buy a 2006... because of it's oil consumption. Best is the HR then DE and then Rev-Up

As for the window master switch repaint. USE PLASTIDIP! it looks stock and it’s rubber so it won’t flake off

Hey AJ, what about the factory supplied cd for the navigation system ? Any updates for that from either Nissan or Infinite ? I have a pretty nice 2005 350Z and wanted to update the nav system. Rock Auto has replacement parts for the Z. Let me know if you come up with anything else. Rob - Great video btw ! !
Unfortunately most manufacturers don't really support the electronics as far as software goes, as the vehucle ages.

AnthonyJ350 I am thinking about it, I like the frs but I feel living in Alberta you don't get to appreciate the true car it is. It's built to be on track, while the z has lots of get go and still can be a lot of fun to drive on tight roads.

what model would you get from a 03-06? any particular one
Eiyzen 2003 tends to have the most problems. 2005.5 with the newer transmission and up I would pick. 2005 Anniversary and 2006 have the more powerful engine.

I have a few questions, is it true insurance is expensive for it and if you upgrade it is this car good on gas thanks.
I think insurance all depends on the area you live, but in general this car would cost more than a Civic for insurance pretty much anywhere. If you upgrade the car it will become faster, but for what it is, it will have poor fuel mileage still.
Does the auto wind down work for the Japanese models? aka Fairlady Z? My factory keys in NZ seem to look different.
Jimmy Anderson It should. Try putting your key in the door and holding unlock (should roll them down) then hold it in the lock position (should roll them up).

I inherited a 2004 350z a couple years ago. The car is really fun to drive but I don't really like the convertible top on it. I haven't had any issues with repairs. I have been able to replace the radiator fans, an ignition coil, and the camshaft sensors by myself.
Ya they're actually pretty decent to work on which is why I like them so much.
Did you ever get around to ask nissan about the ground strap? Only reson I can think of would be for grounding the o2 sensors

Thought for sure if you locked the doors and left the window down you could roll up the window by pressing the lock button once then hold it down. I'll have to check mine again. Stock key fob mind you.
x Pappin x You can put the key in the door and roll them up, but that sucks because you have to walk all the way back to the car.
The ground on the muffler, is for stopping a static charge from building up inside the muffler. That way a static charge, will ground out on the frame, which makes no accidental combustion within the muffler, from unburnt fuel. Great video! Thanks for posting!!
Interesting, why wouldn't it be factory on every vehicle? Or is it because a 350Z runs more rich from factory?
@@AnthonyJ350 Sorry but I don't know! What I wrote was just a theory!! But every part on the vehicle does something. Could be; having to do with the with high lift cams and timing, high compression, and things of that nature.
Also without a good ground, your ignition system will underperform, you'll experience random issues with charging, and you can easily end up stranded. ... Ground the engine block to the frame with a heavy ground wire or cable, making sure that both connections are clean, tight, and metal to metal.

What's the clutch slave cylinder issue? I might have it. And what's the fix? If it's what I experience, many who replaced the master cylinder didn't fix it.

The full sound system is roughly 5 grand in product alone (retail) and the engine is just bolt ons, you can check my 350Z playlist to see all the videos and product we install.
When painting the plastic panels and you do is start with a 400 grit sandpaper then use 800 then 1000 use a plastic primer then you can coat using a water base paint an the more primer better sticking to the plastic
If you wanna use something like a lacquer base paint just make sure you clean the surface well and when done with the lacquer use a clear coat and lay it on kinda thick but be careful not to turn it white.

how did you get the remote for the gas ?
I'm an Installer so I wired a bunch of things to the Viper 5806V. I can remote start the car and also roll the windows up and down from either the remote or my phone.
While living in Japan I realize there is a crazy amount of static during the winter. Many cars there have grounding tabs connected or hanging to the ground. This is probably why there is one on the muffler.
1983jakesan That's really interesting. Noone can really confirm what that strap is for.
What alarm system are you using?
The older Viper 5X06V Platform. Newer installs I use Compustar's CMX brain with an Idatalink AL Blade.

For the HR you are going to have to get a kit for the DE and make your own intake pipes i think

Zurita Zuritax....Youre gonna need tons of different size LEDs, Resistors/solder and all of them must be the same color temp and quality. Not something that can be done easily for gauge clusters, time clock, vanity lights and etc dash panel bulbs. Trust me I've looked into it

Hey Anthony! I got a used 2006 350z with the rev-up couple months back, and as much as im enjoying it. I finally came about the oil consumption issue you talked about. Did some research with a few other videos showing either a catch can or changing the PCV valve resolves the issue. Can you confirm or know more about this since you have an 06? Thanks in advance
Jeff I did a closed version of the catch can. Saikou and I agree it's the best version because it helps promote proper piston ring seal as well. The ones that claim that it solves oil consumption use a "vent to atmosphere" but I can't confirm, but the theory makes sense. I think you're to run into consumption if you drive the car hard. Best thing you can do is wait 30 seconds to 1 minute to let the oil circulate, drive it easy under 3k rpm for 5 to 10 minutes to let the engine components get to operating temp, put a larger oil pan (I have a Stillen unit) and put on some sort of baffled catch can (search my video) and just do regular oil changes with a quality synthetic oil.

I have a base model with a manual and it came stock with a carbon fiber drive shaft. They all have this drive shaft.

What should be my first things to do when wanting to mod the car ie motor trans suspension exhaust
First do small things like catback exhaust and intake and stuff.
Airflow. First, the basic. Intake, exhaust, etc.
Then manifolds, plenum spacers, airbox.
If you're gonna turbo, do that at some point.
At this point you'll want to have it tuned, extra air wont help much if the computer doesn't adjust flow for it.
You can go further. Forged pistons and the likes. But i don't know anything about that.

my windows keep on wanting to come down after I make them go up with the interior switch..For them to stay up ....I have to literally flick and let go 4-5 times..... What can I do to correct this so the windows go up and stay up like every other car I've owned....
First it's a 2 stage switch, only pull it half way to not send it into auto lift mode, which will allow it to stop all the way up.
Second, to reset the calibration on the window motor, you need to remove the door panel to access the reset button. I'd suggest looking up a video on the procedure, as it's too much to type.

Sounds like the motors have to be taken apart and cleaned.
