Because usually the people that run these companies that make resto-mods are actual automotive engineers and enthusiasts, while the large auto manufacturers are ran by accountants and lawyers. Albeit good for business, accountants and lawyers are some of the most emotionally unresponsive people to have ever roamed this earth and that doesn't really mix with an industry where design is king.
@@rtflone It's not about the price itself, but the principle of it all. People that enjoy cars want them to be simpler and cheaper, which is the total opposite of what we've been getting from manufacturers for the last 15 years. We're complicating cars just for the sake of complicating them, not to make them better. Let's be honest here, the only thing these new cars have over a car like a 20 year old VW Golf IV is safety features. Other than that, the Golf is more reliable, was cheaper when new even adjusted for inflation, and it still has pretty good fuel mileage, especially the TDI models. My friend's 2004 VW Passat TDI still gets 50 MPG if you drive it carefully, while newer cars struggle to reach 40 MPG, even though the engines are more efficient and the body is more aerodynamic. If new cars were objectively better than old ones, there would be no need for resto-mods.
Always appreciate a Jethro vid. Simple, knowledgeable, and unforced presentation style. Hell of a lot of soul in that car as well, the finished product is going to be a work of art if this is the strides they've made since the last video
Looks just so menacing, love it. It is a proper V12 British muscle car :) Nice to see JAG restomod TWR awesome job :) TopGear team great video and it was since to hear from Magnus and Jethro.
Jag V12 properly performance tuned is simply fabulous! Wish they'd tried to go more in this direction for their Prod cars (xk120 I'm looking at you....)
The real piont in some of these cars; is that if you can`t drive them - then you shouldn`t. Lovely to own and put in your collection. Nice to be rich. To drive them hard - damn few people could - to those..... I salute you. (envy you too)
The integration of Alemio Network with Layer-2, DeFi 2.0 tech and Cross-Chain interoperability has significant potential to enter top 100 cryptos. Well done!
Love it, let’s hope they sell out and they’re all driven till they wear out. And then get a lynx eventer with this power train but mild visuals as a perfect 200mph wagon.
I bloody love this thing! And good to know it drives pretty good already. Lets hope they can add the final polish it needs to justify the price tag. I have a real soft spot for this one as it's built 5 minutes from my home in Newbury. In fact, I saw the previous prototype driving through town yesterday late afternoon. Perhaps Fergus was taking it home 🙂
Its looks? Love em or loathe em territory and all the better for it imo. A kind of '80s brutalism... Shock and awe visually! And aurally too as that monster V12 howls, burbles and then sings is a contender for masterpiece. I abaolutely love it!! 😍🔥
What’s your favourite restomod right now?
@TopGear Kimera EVO37
Nice car. Should have named it supreme cat.
Its on the top end of sporty. Not really super.
That Volvo P1800 by Cyan.
@@aonevelocity 1000%
@@mishumihai223yeah, what a stunner
This is the real Jag
What peace of 💩… cheers to the New 🎀 J A G U A R 🎀 (I’m serious, Jag is dead since 60s)
That 6 people will buy. Do you think an OEM can actually put out a vehicle like this profitably?
It didn't leave you on the road? It's NOT a JAG!
I drove an XJ to my junior prom.
P.S. dad's drive has an XK-120 and an XK-140.
Literally all the restomods are what we really want from the industry, but we keep getting infotainment systems on wheels

@@Stuntman175 Because the accountants and lawyers know that it's mostly rich boring people like them that can afford a $300K toy/car.

That's why we now see even smartphone websites start talking about EV (I'm looking at you, GSMArena).
This thing is art... Not the new Jaguar... Definitely not that... 🤣
Supercharged V12s ... a very rare breed ... and even rarer in this modern world
The noise is 50% of the driving experience, when u add a brutal design and a competition history, that s ticking all the boxes ! ✌️👍🥳
EU regulations will still say it's too loud 😢
К чертям такие правила@@Mufc_Kenny
You think engine noise is half of a great driving experience. 🤣👌
Needs to turn his radio off!
That's gorgeous! Reminds me a bit of Cyberpunk 2077's Quadra Type 66 Avenger
Jethro is undoubtedly one of the best motoring journalists in the game. Top reviewer.

the sound omg, a supercharged v12 is a wild idea though
And here's a Jag that the world should love again.

At least this Jaguar will carry its legacy

TopGear team great video and it was since to hear from Magnus and Jethro.
There are some incredible restomods out there including this one. When I saw the Cyan Volvo P1800 Just fell in love.
That V12 sounds glorious even with the superchargers. And yes, we do need to see more restomods from British sports cars.
Thank God it's Jethro... Bravo for using a wheel man this time 🙏
This is inadvertently saving Jag’s face right now
it sounds glorious, looks brutal and has a get the f**k out of my way vibe to it.
Stunning car!
A childhood favourite…
If they nail the final details it sounds like they’ll have a winner on their hands!👏👏
Thank you Jethro, you have such a beautiful way to help imagine the car in all aspects, most of all dynamically I’m right there sitting next to you
The sound of that V12!
One of the coolest dudes to be in the car community MR. Magnus ❤
Walkinshaw is alive and well.
I would buy this car just for its glorious V12 sound 🎻
Jaguar is the distraction.
THIIISSSSS is the real jaguar reveal
@1:57
State of those welds!
Singer as dying of laughter watching this
Supercharged v12s are my favorite 🔥
Wow, new great cars do exist. Awesome creation salute Jaguar/TWR.
They should make a 75% version of this. Maybe the same engine without the supercharger and less aggressive styling. A bit more GT focused.
This is my favourite car looks so beautiful
E Type looks better to me.
@@f5mando Miles better looking.
This is the car we needed
Absolutely gorgeous!
this should be what future cars look like
Thank you so much, I definitely love the looks as much as I love the OG with its big rectangular headlights, this still speaks to me.
It’s… got…. Flames 🤗
this is the jaguar we needed
Magnus owns every TV clip he´s in..
If I had the money, I would buy one
Looks beautiful and sounds even better

I'm not usually one to jump into presales, but with Alemio Network, I couldn't resist. This is a solid project with massive potential!

the ballance you describe reminds me of my most missed former cars, the BMW E39, beautiful and lovely to handle. like this one
Alemio Network's presale got me hooked - the coolest way to be part of a groundbreaking project. Let's go!
the best looking car I've seen in a while
*Looks like an absolute beast on the road* Hope they sell a good few of em.

Wow this is the best looking jag ever
Excellent review. Interesting to hear about all of the inputs (e.g., steering, brakes, clutch, throttle response, etc.).
Exciting times for Alemio Network - partnerships with major industry players are unlocking new possibilities. This presale rocks...
Great review Jethro
I just want one. Amazing
I think I clicked the like button about 2 seconds in
brits actin giddy cuz they finally got a muscle car
What a great anchorman, such a relief after some of the older ones

Jaguar and Lotus two great brands that failed to hire the right men and paid the price for it
What a machine.
The John McCririck of designers

Supercharger and power is great, though I want to imagine this package with an NA V12 with ITBs and open velocity stacks!
This might well be the last proper Jag
