I can't believe that the Archive version was so cheap (30$) for a time and now is almost 50. LOL I still buy 3rd edition G versions for 25$ when it comes up, I love that old art :P

Underrated thought I think; If you’re ordering a Secret Lair as a way of getting a rare card and not really for the art, you’re better off waiting for the Lair release and buying the original art work card for cheaper. Elesh Norn was at $9 a few weeks ago.
I think that most of the cards that are just in commander pre-cons or random "by themselves" type of sets (not in normal packs or booster sets) just tend to slip past everyone. A lot of great cards that most people don't know about. So they stay cheap until its gains some popularity.
What keeps Dismantling Wave from seeing consistent play IS the cycling cost AND the effect of it destroying your own artifacts and enchantments too. That said, the main part of the card's effect is definitely great.
@@nickhughes8179 I agree, though Gavi decks usually rely heavily on enchantments, if not some artifacts too, and in most cases, you don't want to pop your own stuff too... even of it is zero with Gavi.

Still though, it's second effect is almost not even an option, unless you would otherwise lose. A lot of white builds rely on artifacts and/or enchantments to cover its color pie holes. One of my favorite plays is casting Pattern of Rebirth on some dopey mana dork or something. Then cast Natural Order, sacking the dopey creature, which triggers Rebirth allowing me to get 2 giant boys outta my deck
The Ozolith is one I would keep an eye on. If you are playing a 1/1 counters deck it is amazing. It only has one printing as of now and is going up in price.
If I may add a potential Honorable Mention to you list: Martyr’s Bond. A White enchantment with an effect identical to Gravepact but triggers with EVERY permanent type? This card is crazy good! What’s more, it’s priced at UNDER one dollar at TCGPlayer!
I love Pilferer in decks that want some situational draw to smooth hands out, and also want unblockable attackers. It'd be better as a 3/1, but what can you do? It's great with Reconnaissance Mission type cards, so much draw potential. Funniest part about Voidwalker? If you can recur Voidwalker, it still has access to the other effects. Saying this can be good in a Meren deck is vastly underselling it. Who doesn't like access to counters in Golgari? How about repeated access in a grindy match, a thing Meren already likes to set up if possible? It also sees stuff other players' Voidwalker, it's such a great card to have access to if you are the only non-blue deck. I run a Ritual in Meren, where it's needed sometimes as a solution to a problematic creature. I can always sac what I stole if that helps me more, but I usually just take a Commander. It's a heap of mana, but it's not a permanent and it's off-colour enough to be interesting. Most important factor for Imperial Recruiter, it's RED, the colour you don't get much tutoring in, where it's all instinct and gambling addiction. Ooh, Selvala is cool, I've always wanted one for OG Multani, AKA turn 6 I might have +20 mana to fart around with, so maybe people have a wipe, or maybe they just lose? I don't hesitate to let people play Crowd lands untapped in 1v1, it's not like you're going to change them out for a random 1v1 game, so they shouldn't be punished.
This was a great list. I own most of these cards including the Ritual of the Machine at the end. I also just picked up a copy of Intuition today for 100. Worth.
I remember when you guys first talked about Voidwalker being a not good card and now it's "totally bonkers". Lmao I knew the card was gonna be an edh staple the moment I read it
Agadeem's awakening is probably the card that has one more more games than any other in my deck. They also make a bounce land or two worth it. Pretty cool to tap out, play the bounce land, return agadeem's to your hand, cast it FTW.
might just be me, but I think gamble also is worth getting if you're in the right deck and dont mind discards. managed to grab myself one today for just 10 bucks, quite the steal i'd say

Your definitely right about higher mana value tutors however as power level lessens there are conversations for 3-4 mana tutors, especially black ones which don't reveal. Tutoring for a key piece to cast next turn is fine in lower powered decks imo.
Grave Titan is relatively cheap!!! Don’t overlook it. Not to mention Cultivate, very good ramp in a green creature ramp deck. 🍥 I’d say we start cutting Field of the Dead, it’s overrated
Shoutout to Pilferer, it draws cards and it gets you monarch back to draw cards. Its also untaps to draw cards and when playing against commanders like Prosper you just party.
I bought the Galea deck and I cut a LOT of cards from it, but mantle of the ancients is still easily one of the best cards in it. It helps that I mill myself to use it. Its basically 5 mana to win the game
Fiery Confluence is going in my Torbran deck. The deck is based entirely on pinging with all cards that add/double damage. 4 mana to deal 9+ damage to each opponent is insane in that deck.
Love that you highlighted Ghost Pilferer, is so good, it can easily draw off commanders, flashback, escape, cascade just to mention some mechanics. Plus the discard effect to unblock is really nice, especially if you're playing a reanimator kind of deck and you want to discard what you need to reanimate.

Great picks! The Dauthi Voidwalker I ordered for $7.10 came today, it’s going straight in my Prosper deck, I’ve been trying to make it a little more aggressive while it digs for its combos. I’d also forgotten about Fiery Confluence, which will be great in there! It’s hard to run many board wipes when most of my draws are impulsive and they can so easily be dead. That one can clear small token armies and dorks while saving Prosper and whichever utility creatures I need, or do other stuff. And with liquimetal torque in the deck, I’m always happy to run versatile artifact removal. I bought two Druids of Purification when they were at $7, definitely worth getting more while they’re cheap. Crowd lands, too! Also been preaching Heliod’s Intervention to my playgroup and will continue.
Sick, I forgot about Turntimber Symbiosis. How could Voidwalker not be good? The card basically forces removal. Great list I'd add Svyelun to the list if you like Merfolk, she is so cheap :P
Voidwalker is insane. I’ve played it recently in a couple of my mono black and Orzhov decks and it absolutely smashes. I just ordered some more the night before this video came out because I think it’s WAY under valued right now

One of my favorite underrated cards for gruul decks is Hull Breach. Destroying one player's Rhystic Study or Smothering Tithe and another player's Bolas's Citadel, for only 2 mana? Yes please. It only really has two things holding it back in that it's multicolored and sorcery speed, but I think the efficiency and potential for a 2 for 1 makes it well worth it.
I think dismantling waves biggest issue is that it destroys and destroy is pretty weak in the grand scheme of things cause by 8 mana people are already gonna have their Enchantments and Artifacts be pretty negligible. One card that I think is absolutely nuts is terminus, it just completely cuts everyone off and you can cast It for 1 if you top deck it but overall is worth casting if you wanted to hold on to it
Pattern of Rebirth can be replaced by Defense of the Heart and Natural Order in many cases. That's probably the biggest reason. Sure Defense can't be cheated on timing... But it always activates. You still need to force the cheat, and if you can't you probably aren't having it happen.
Funny story about how I got my demonic tutor for $20 this year. Went to the Lgs for commander and there was a legacy tourney going on. No commander players. So some guy randomly offered to Loan me his yuriko deck. This deck costs around $4K. I went undefeated after witnessing him lose twice with it, showing me how to play his deck. With the winning store credit I got the tutor for $20.
I hate the phyrexian text cards and wish they had just done flavor text on the card that way. I wanted to cards but didn't get the drop because of the printing.
100% agree on the Commander Legends Crowd lands. I have a binder dedicated to them and have been picking them up for $3-5 for months. They won't be reprinted before the battlebond ones which are 4-5x the price. There's no way they don't double or triple in price before they're reprinted. They have been my #1 pickup.
Hey guys, I love ur guys' content. Would u guys ever consider reading the cards out loud when you talk about them? I almost exclusively watch (rather listen) to your guys videos when I'm driving, and I only know about 40% of the cards you guys talk about by heart. I know I'm a niche case, but I thought I'd ask! (Also, I want to ask your guys opinion on the card Soul Exchange, I think it's really strong for it's cmc)
yeah so i didnt get the hype around imperial recruiter. however i put it in my osgir and realized theres 14 targets and can be got back with my sun titan so yeah the card is pretty good.
I just wanted to point out that Yavimaya will make your opponents lands forests as well. It helps your opponents mana fix and that's not always good. A slight drawback but the more of these lands there will be, the easier color fixing becomes for multicolor decks.
No big considering how often people use Urborg, tomb of Yawgmoth to turn all lands into swamps in addition to there normal types. Typically you have built your deck to take more advantage than your opponent when you drop your Yavimaya :P
@@mr.mammuthusafricanavus8299 for Urborg, if you have cabal coffer or magus of the coffers, it can really pull a lot of weight. Yavimaya is still generally better than a basic land in 99% of cases. But it doesn't seem as abusable for the fixing it can give.
It'd be nice to hear what the NPN's think is "worth it". Like "This is definitely $32 good" means what? I assume it means its power is its price worth above other cards in the same slot. So like grim tutor at ~$15 and demonic tutor at $32. If a demonic tutor is $32 strong, it indicates it is twice as good as grim tutor. Maybe? Idk but love the videos and keep up all the great work guys!
Ghostly Pilferer overperforms in my Brallin/Shabraz deck. I originally wouldn't have considered throwing it in a deck that doesn't use the unblockable or discard, but the middle ability has gotten me so much unexpected value. Full disclosure, there's a Prosper and Karador running around in my pod. Great against both.
I think dismantling wave is overlooked because enchantress is one of the most popular white builds so the cycling board wipe is irrelevant to those decks.
Time Warp says that "Target player" takes a turn after this one. That means that I could target any player, right? I could see an ""You can kill him, I can't, have a turn, scenario going on. :P"

Agadeems awakening is so strong. I bought up heaps of them at $5 each. I got to cast it for x=8, and put 9 creatures into play (gotta love dryad arbor)
I run Pattern of Rebirth in my Mazirek deck and it often just wins the game. Throw it on some dumb thing I'm looking to sacrifice anyway and, BAM! Go get Woodfall Primus and blow up every non-creature permanent.
I think when flashing back Sevinne's Reclamation you still only need one fetchland, just let one copy of the spell resolve and grab your fetch, then sac it while the other copy is still on the stack and it will be back in the graveyard when the second copy resolves to do it again. Or do you need to choose the target when the copy happens?
I and my friends absolutely hate the phyrexian text…. That’s probably why it’s so cheap; you don’t wanna have to look it up all the time for new players or have them need to look it up in order to play it
In brazil some prices are diferent, but gonna follow your advise, since you haven't disappointed me so far... My secret lair of phyrexians foil arrived yesterday, but that's for collection only hehe

A Sorcery version of imperial recruiter would actually still be perfectly good. Red has so few tutors, that's part of what makes it so good.
I can't believe that a retro frame foil Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth is under $30. I have one and it is gorgeous. That card will be $75+ in 2 years.

I never figured out why some of the best cards "ever" cost under 1 $.
Because they're not used in tournament-winning decks I wager. But hey, it's an advantage for us without bottomless pockets.

Dismatling wave is also very hard to counter when you cycle it because it's a Trigger to destroy things
Just pulled a foil dauthi voidwalker, threw it in my xantcha deck i was playing/slowly upgrading without even checking price. Such a cool card.
I've loved it since I first played it. Busted it out on a friend playing an Araumi build and I think he has PTSD now.

One of my favorite underrated cards for gruul decks is Hull Breach. Destroying one player's Rhystic Study or Smothering Tithe and another player's Bolas's Citadel, for only 2 mana? Yes please. It only really has two things holding it back in that it's multicolored and sorcery speed, but I think the efficiency and potential for a 2 for 1 makes it well worth it.

I think dismantling waves biggest issue is that it destroys and destroy is pretty weak in the grand scheme of things cause by 8 mana people are already gonna have their Enchantments and Artifacts be pretty negligible. One card that I think is absolutely nuts is terminus, it just completely cuts everyone off and you can cast It for 1 if you top deck it but overall is worth casting if you wanted to hold on to it
Pattern of Rebirth can be replaced by Defense of the Heart and Natural Order in many cases. That's probably the biggest reason. Sure Defense can't be cheated on timing... But it always activates. You still need to force the cheat, and if you can't you probably aren't having it happen.
Also, Agadeem's Awakening is basically Genesis Wave in black, hitting only creatures in your yard.
Funny story about how I got my demonic tutor for $20 this year. Went to the Lgs for commander and there was a legacy tourney going on. No commander players. So some guy randomly offered to Loan me his yuriko deck. This deck costs around $4K. I went undefeated after witnessing him lose twice with it, showing me how to play his deck. With the winning store credit I got the tutor for $20.
I hate the phyrexian text cards and wish they had just done flavor text on the card that way. I wanted to cards but didn't get the drop because of the printing.

100% agree on the Commander Legends Crowd lands. I have a binder dedicated to them and have been picking them up for $3-5 for months. They won't be reprinted before the battlebond ones which are 4-5x the price. There's no way they don't double or triple in price before they're reprinted. They have been my #1 pickup.

I almost exclusively watch (rather listen) to your guys videos when I'm driving, and I only know about 40% of the cards you guys talk about by heart. I know I'm a niche case, but I thought I'd ask! (Also, I want to ask your guys opinion on the card Soul Exchange, I think it's really strong for it's cmc)

yeah so i didnt get the hype around imperial recruiter. however i put it in my osgir and realized theres 14 targets and can be got back with my sun titan so yeah the card is pretty good.

I just wanted to point out that Yavimaya will make your opponents lands forests as well. It helps your opponents mana fix and that's not always good. A slight drawback but the more of these lands there will be, the easier color fixing becomes for multicolor decks.
No big considering how often people use Urborg, tomb of Yawgmoth to turn all lands into swamps in addition to there normal types. Typically you have built your deck to take more advantage than your opponent when you drop your Yavimaya :P
@@mr.mammuthusafricanavus8299 for Urborg, if you have cabal coffer or magus of the coffers, it can really pull a lot of weight. Yavimaya is still generally better than a basic land in 99% of cases. But it doesn't seem as abusable for the fixing it can give.
The fix other players is not a big deal. They may not even be playing green
It'd be nice to hear what the NPN's think is "worth it". Like "This is definitely $32 good" means what? I assume it means its power is its price worth above other cards in the same slot. So like grim tutor at ~$15 and demonic tutor at $32. If a demonic tutor is $32 strong, it indicates it is twice as good as grim tutor. Maybe? Idk but love the videos and keep up all the great work guys!

Ghostly Pilferer overperforms in my Brallin/Shabraz deck. I originally wouldn't have considered throwing it in a deck that doesn't use the unblockable or discard, but the middle ability has gotten me so much unexpected value.
Full disclosure, there's a Prosper and Karador running around in my pod. Great against both.

I think dismantling wave is overlooked because enchantress is one of the most popular white builds so the cycling board wipe is irrelevant to those decks.
I dunno, enchantress is popular but this can slot into any 1-3 color white deck pretty easily, usually GW or Bant are the enchantress colors

I run Pattern of Rebirth in my Mazirek deck and it often just wins the game. Throw it on some dumb thing I'm looking to sacrifice anyway and, BAM! Go get Woodfall Primus and blow up every non-creature permanent.

I think when flashing back Sevinne's Reclamation you still only need one fetchland, just let one copy of the spell resolve and grab your fetch, then sac it while the other copy is still on the stack and it will be back in the graveyard when the second copy resolves to do it again. Or do you need to choose the target when the copy happens?
