But this is definitely them changing some aspects of the story for brevity and comprehension's sake

I love how you can tell Grog's plush chairs comment came straight from Travis. It would've been so easy for them to just make the script on their own, or using only Matt as a consultant, but I'm really really glad that they consulted people on their individual characters' dialogue and/or encouraged improv. (Which, if they encouraged improv, I love how they added improv to a script based on improvised game. Oh, how these things come full circle. XD) Edit: Guys, I know Critical Role is the creators, I'm just saying I'm glad that they're keeping the entire cast's involvement and that they aren't abandoning it or leaving it to its own devices. I've been burned before by creators abandoning adaptations of their works, despite them being very adamant about wanting the adaptation and being more than suited to make the adaptation.

That was part of the whole deal.

I have a theory, but it contains heavy spoilers. If you are cartoon only, please do not read past this point. I think this is the season where Ripley kills Percy, but unlike the game, they won't be able to just resurrect him. I think they need to retrieve his soul from hell first. I'm pretty sure the coffin we see is Percy's because of how expensive looking it is, and if you notice, there isn't i single shot is Percy with the others in hell. Even the group shots are Percy-free. I do think Percy will be back, but it'll be a fight to do it.
Oooooohhhh, interesting theory! And since this is possibly replacing their trip to the fire plane, maybe they just get the Dawnmartyr Plate in hell. As a bonus.

When Percy dies, Orthax is waiting to take him and wasn’t able to do so in the campaign, but perhaps they’re changing that so that they have to retrieve his soul from Orthax who dragged him down there. Scanlan doesn’t have a demon waiting to feast on his soul so perhaps he’s easier to bring back.
Considering that the most everyone is assuming (hoping) the movie deal with Amazon will be an adaptation of Calamity, it would be so sick to plant seeds of that with this change from the Plane of Fire to the Nine Hells.

I get the feeling Pike is going to fail in the attempt to revive a certain someone and has to have a new arc going through hell, and getting a vestige, to increase in power.
They said not all of the campaign characters may survive until the end of the series. This season just made me so anxious. So many scenes where we have most of the team but not everyone is there. It's gonna be heartbreaking when whoever it is dies.
@justinsampson7029 I'm sure they'll end the series by having either Vex, Scanlan, or Pike grabbing the card out of his hand before he can look at it, having it drop on the floor face up and having some poor extra (paid by Matt Mercer) scream in terror as he is dragged to Pandemonium instead of what actually happened.

It's glad to see Phil bourassa character designs in a truly high budget animated series... I'm a such fan of DC animated movies and Young Justice, but really these productions have never chance (or budget) to express this level of good animation.
Frankly speaking, I squealed. So happy they proved all the other streaming services wrong. Not one but 3 seasons is far beyond anyones expectations and we're greatful to see this glorious story come to animation.
the show just looks so stunning. i can not wait for season 3. And even more i can not wait for M9. VM was what got me in it so the nostalgia really hits but M9 was hands down my favorite.

Looks like the Hells are having a negative effect on Pike! Also, Keyleth crying over VM grave literally killed me. I'm a ghost now.
Pike didn't go with them to the Hells in the original campaign. Marisha almost TPK'ed the party when she failed 2 straight death saves.
I get the feeling Pike is going to fail in the attempt to revive a certain someone and has to have a new arc going through hell, and getting a vestige, to increase in power.
Nice to know Sam hasn’t lost a step. Even cancer couldn’t keep him down.

They said not all of the campaign characters may survive until the end of the series. This season just made me so anxious. So many scenes where we have most of the team but not everyone is there. It's gonna be heartbreaking when whoever it is dies.

It's glad to see Phil bourassa character designs in a truly high budget animated series... I'm a such fan of DC animated movies and Young Justice, but really these productions have never chance (or budget) to express this level of good animation.

Frankly speaking, I squealed. So happy they proved all the other streaming services wrong. Not one but 3 seasons is far beyond anyones expectations and we're greatful to see this glorious story come to animation.

the show just looks so stunning. i can not wait for season 3. And even more i can not wait for M9. VM was what got me in it so the nostalgia really hits but M9 was hands down my favorite.
