The xtra wait was worth it, I always love it when Tree covers the NHL. Makes hockey way more fun to watch and analyse.
My dad called the Wild during the 2015 playoffs the “Minnesota Mild” and I’ve never found a more fitting name since.

@@saku9177 the problem with Vancouver is their shooting percentages and GF above expected + GA below expected are at unrealistic levels. Law of averages states these will level out eventually and they’ll come back down to earth.

This Jekyll-and-Hyde hockey from Seattle is really holding them back from competing in the West especially with the sharp decline in goal production. I miss those days when the Kraken won 9 in a row including that Winter Classic shutout from Joey Daccord.

For Vancouver, I always assumed get the core a proper bottom 6 and 4 and they do good (not potential President trophy mind you) but they finally have a real 3rd line and bottom 4 in D. Miller, Petty and Hughes have always been good, especially Hughes who was second in points for D last year, it just finally took them to start winning for people to notice them.

It shouldn’t affect it at all. The wild are garbage and the only way they could beat the Canucks was with the refs doing all of the work for them in one of the single worst officiated games in nhl history.

For the Jets this year it has been a surprise, as for the attendance scare I’m glad it was a minor factor however they do need to not expensify the process for games. They do need to adapt like figure out what to do going forward to not make the same mistake twice.
As an Avalanche I feel like with how the team has been playing this season we’ll see 1 of 2 scenarios play out
We’re either gonna be first round exits cause we’re injured to hell and back, Georgiev just isn’t the guy and we just don’t have the same depth as we did back in 2022, or Mackinnon and Rantanen are going to drag this team kicking and screaming to our 4th Stanley Cup in franchise history because those two are just THAT FUCKING GOOD

I am leaning towards a first round exit for the AVS even with Mackinnon putting this team on his back. I am hoping they trade for a goalie by the deadline but I think it is unlikely. They really have no one they can offer and afford to lose. Georgiev will not win a cup for this team.
Could see them lose in the 2nd round as well. No matter how great Mackinnon and Rantanen are, it takes depth to win a cup. Especially in the net.
Not saying once you get to playoffs you can’t ride one goaltender all the way but if you play them into the ground before you get there, they won’t have the stamina to get thru a cup run.

Cause Arizona is 0-9-1 in their last 10 and there is no mention of it, even last video I noticed some inconsitancies, he said Slafkovsky was struggling while Lafrienere was realising his potential, when they were only 1 point apart when it was uploaded. The Jets' attendance dive was likely inevitable. Winnipeg's economy fell off and all but 15% of the Jets' season ticket base consists of personal accounts, which isn't sustainable. The other 6 Canadian franchises enjoy much stronger corporate support. I hope the modern iteration of the Jets won't have to relocate like the old Jets did.

As a Yotes fan, hated the month of February, but other than that, they have been doing great! You can tell the team is getting better, and specially when we got a new Doan on the team.

As a vegas fan, happy to see brossoit doing well in Wpg. He did well for us in the playoffs up until he got injured.
Good breakdown on the Jets and touched on my number one concern about the team which is the Canadian economy and the inability for the fans to actually afford to support the team where it counts, at the box office. There winning ways might just save them but I wouldn't count on it. My advice to them would be to lower the price of beer at the concession stand as Winnipegers will opt to stay home otherwise & deny it at the same time. Go Jets Go!!!

He tends to go easier on teams that are actively trying to rebuild. Rebuilds take time and are given the benefit of the doubt for a bit. He only really goes after these types of teams if they are catastrophically bad.

It looks like the Coyotes are progressing and starting to gain competence, which is all you can hope for.

After todays minnesota vancouver game, I am extremely unsure what to think. Is it just a bad run of form? Is it us coming back down to earth? I think that the dakota joshua injury is the main reason for the 2 game loss streak, but I hope that we can pull out a win tomorrow. We had a bad run of form earlier in the year I hope that this is just that. Defense needs to be better though.
