I think the back to back Stanley cup winning saves by Osgood and Fleury in their respective wins against one another were great. Those wings pens series were electric
This perfectly exemplifies the idea of doing everything in your power to succeed. Goalies give it their all on the ice, and this illustrates it beautifully. Being such a noble position, these saves deserve the applause.
The hardest position in any sport. The athleticism of an ice hockey goalie is fucking inhuman. When you start talkinng about guys like Hasek, Price, Roy, Brodour, fluerry and vasilevsky, you have an entirely different level of play that is just downright beautiful to watch. Goalies are awesome and always the most unique players on the team in terms of how they create their own styles in the net. I always wanted to be one.
My brother and I were at that Stars vs Flames Game. My brother is a Stars fan and I'm a Flames fan; we drove from 3 hours away in Oklahoma to be there. Oettinger is an animal in the iron, he's the only reason why the Flames didn't win every game with 5 or more goals.
I love watching these before games and practices. Really helps goalies visualize success and understand moves to learn and train themselves. You're the best Jens!

Part 2 please; Martin Jones in 2019 game 7 sjs vs vgk, with about 3:20 left in the 3rd the sharks were up 4-3 on the pk and jones made a great glove save and the crowd went crazy.
as a goalie i cant imagine what it would be like to make a huge desperation save with 22k people watching live. i was lucky enough to do it in front of 1000 at a hs game but multiplying that crowd by 22? insanity.

Then you didn't watch him in Buffalo, par for the course for him, I stopped being surprised after a full year of watching him do it, I was more surprised if he got scored on 😂
@@SabresGuy87 no not at all. When he first came to the wings in the early 2000s I was only like 10 years old so I didn't follow any other teams at all besides the wings. I just remember him always dropping his stick and getting the job done in the most bizarre way as if to make every save a highlight reel. And then when he skated way out of the net and slid across the ice making the dude do a front flip was awesome lol
