I think Vivian is just a femboy, they describe him as a boy most parts of the game (even companions) and never gets offended for being called a boy, he even names himself as a boy (in the Japanese version lol, the English always suck, it’s hard to learn Japanese so I would recommend the Spanish one) there are some scenes where it can be interpreted both ways like the scene where Vivian says to have a heart of a girl but that is also something that a femboy would say, obviously all the things about Vivian being trans is a joke, there is no way someone believes that in 2004 they would rather create a trans character than a femboy character to troll the players making them confused when they mentioned that Vivian was a boy, if there is someone that believes that I will laugh so hard I would break my spine.

In all seriousness, Mario is shown to travel to all sorts of crazy places and get along with al sorts of people and creatures. In Thousand Year Door, he teams up with members of 7 distinct species, including a Goomba and Koopa (his most frequent opponents). In Odyssey, he visits more than a dozen countries and is constantly helping all sorts of people along the way. And even when only surrounded by enemies, like in Bowser's Fury, he'll show restraint and even sometimes help said enemies.
What I'm saying is, it is hard to imagine a scenario where Mario would be less friendly to a character on account of them being trans.

You know what, I love the idea of Mario being Autistic. He's a jolly and jumpy guy who wears outfits that range from a cat suit to a fire outfit to an elephant form. He explores various biomes and worlds while participating all sorts of Parties, Sports, and Kart Races. He's always enthusiastic and enjoys whatever activity he does. It makes this character a whole lot more fun and whimsical than he already is.
And it also paints Luigi as the supportive younger brother who goes along with Marios adventures to make sure his big bro is save and happy no matter where he goes, he even invented the Ballon Rally for him in Odyssey to give him more fun in every world
