Carter gonna be the most sampled drummer of the 21st century so much gold here for hiphop
If those ghost notes get any more real, we all know who we're going to call.
@Mickey Zombish I'm gonna call your mother.
ghostbusters?????
The video is about the bass, but I'm in love with those hats and snare.
Literally why do your demo videos have some of the tastiest jazz licks I've ever heard
did you used to be named monkey dangus
Came for the bass drum - stayed for the playing
Did you shorten the beater height for bass drum?
rich hufnagle yes I did
That second snare tuning was godly. Love the high ping/ring from that brass.
fam! this sounds fantastic. you make a small-sized minimal kit sound huge and loud. testament to stellar playing !
I have been playing drums and learning about the history of drums for 49 years and I have never before seen a 17" bass drum. Awesome! Thank You.
Beautiful...Steve Jordan vibes and feeling...
This is ALL a drummer needs to do!!!
I’ve seen a bunch of carters videos and at this point I am confident he could play a wet paper bag and make it sound like tightest kit you’ve EVER HEARD.
Carter thanks for doing all of these cool vids! I watch all of them! I love the jazzy roundness of that bass.
Sweet beats. You're cooking something special here. Awesome tone to the kick! It really commands your attention for such a small size and it's tuned really well. I noticed it was lower in the beginning and it sounded really deep too.
Steve Jordan at 5:17 👍
everything in this video sounds glorious, but most of that has to do with the man holding the sticks.
Sounds so smooth, and also very melodical. I also dig the overtones of that snare.
Carter, what a GREAT sounding bass drum. Your grooves are really nice
Love all your playing & your sounds. Love the phrase @ 3:20-3:22
That last groove is very Gadson/Jordan 👌🏽🎶🥁🔥
hearing it no mics just makes you appreciate this dude's playing that much more. He's got such an advanced touch. Really admirable
xueq seriously man. Really great - no close mics, but the mics he’s using - earthworks are really amazing mics. He has them set up perfectly in a great room.
Unbelievably smooth and clean! Impressive :)
That bass drum sounds BEAUTIFUL!!! and as always you're grooves are perfect
Awesome sound, excellent playing* thanx and bravo!
Beautiful sound...well captured...congrats
Love the oldskool skiffle swing sound man , and ur tones are so smooth I almost fell over
Your whole kit sounds amazing
DUDE!!! the opening first minute was SO killer, that feel and groove .. damn tasty! loved the whole vid and where you took it. I think the tuning and tone choices are perfect between the kick, snare and the ride/crash.
That was poetry in miniature. Beautiful feel. See that all you young drummers out there; you don't need a zillion drums and cymbals to make music on a set. I'm playing on a 16 inch bass drum these days (Ludwig Breakbeats kit) and having a blast with it. The smaller bass drum can still sound like a little cannon if you tune it right.
the sound of mahogany, wide open. and great playing!
funk soul brother laying it down
Three ply shell, ultralight hardware. The sound is great! The look is great! The back is great!!
Unreal groove!
Great style of playing 🎵🎶
Man what a sweet bass drum! Tasty playing good sir
Som incrível desse bumbo. A caixa também é excelente. Toca demais também.
Incredible bass drum sound and excellent snare too. You play a lot. Cheers from Brazil.
A badass kit, played in a badass way!
beautiful sound, all around not just the bass drum
Bloody amazing!! Would love to see a half time shuffle John bonham styles!
This, would be obligatory for every drums review
Fair dinkum mate!!!! So much with so little. That was delicious. Thank you
When I see a player like this get this many sounds out of 2 drums and 2 cymbals it makes me realize if a player NEEDS that many drums they probably don’t deserve THAT many drums.
Those slippers tho!
amazing sounds
SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!!
Sweet groove man
Whoa. Incredibly great BD. Snare too. Thx. D
simple is good. good sounds, and good looks.
Everything is excellent
Eu ficaria dias curtindo um kit desses sem parar.... top!!
Excellent Grove bro 🔥
Sounds awesome!
Man this sounds great!
beautiful!
Got a nice vibe to them
Really nice set drum!!
Love that snare
This sounds great!!!
Great Drumming .
Best kit I have ever played on, was at Roosevelt University. 20 in bass, 12 tom, 14in floor tom. A 40s Gretsch.
enjoyed this a lot! Thx!
Cool sound!!!!
I’ve always wanted to test/play a 21x15 or 21x16 kick. So nice & punchy
Further proof (as if we needed any!) that it's not the bow, not the arrow, but the archer that scores the kill/bullseye. Thanks Carter. Eargasm as always!
That snr is lovely too
Just call it a snare, hang around studios enough and you'll see signal to noise ratio when reading your post. I was like nice signal to noise ratio? He's got 1 room mic.... wait, oh
Thats all you need right there 🤘
Sick grooves
Sounds pretty good!
That's BRILLIANT
Hihat stand looks dope
I like videos where the person plays a bass and snare, many times they're much better than the person with the neil peart or terry bozzio sized drum kit xD
21DaHoagie12 Yep, for sure ... In fact, I’m inferring, that 99% of the time, you are 100% consistent with the people that agree with you. Fact - - based upon user analytics ...

22” agop sig medium & anniversary 16” hiHats? Sounds way way great, thank you Carter!
Sick. 5:17!
Sounds great, but that ride is sooo wicked!!
Does The Lion King brass realize that you are THE one and only funky drummer of our times? :) I really really love your "demos" and your tasty grooves are always so inspiring and pleasant to hear and watch. I wish I was your neighbor. Cheers.
would be a small nightmare tracking down a set of heads for that thing! whole kit sounds killer
cant believe i never knew this guy before man...too much groove
Sounds great.
Sounds great
All those great tunings. How to ever choose just one.

The man! Great!
This is one of those moments where less is definitely more.
Came for the kick, stayed for the snare

Almost sounds like a “24
T Davis seriously
Lovely sound! ?uestlove could be pleased
Sweet!!!!!
i wonder if a drummer in 1948 ever played a groove like this? weird to think about...i dont think this ever was invented yet...no music ever had this feel back then
i love it... boomm boomm
Kool!👍 😁 🍻
That’s jazzy. 😉🖖🏼
could you do a lesson on how you play double time swing at 3:23? I like how you play the snare and bass
I would like to see him tune and play a first act kids drum set to see what he could get out of it.
Hey, what preamps are you using or interface? Sounds great. Not just the sounds but the playing.. ;-) Groovy
