What a beautiful room you made out of it! Drum sound and your playing are fantastic. I am a metal drummer but I really appreciate some tasteful dynamic drumming. 👌🏼
... every drummers dream is to do this ! lol
I've just finished my drum studio this weekend :)
- OK... It isn't nearly as smart as Carter's...
Yep
It's like a beautiful movie...
My drumset is in my living room and the neighbour and i have a "no bitching about volume" agreement. ^^
that audiomute stuff even looks cool. the sound diffrence is crazy. drum sound is crystal clear.
Shipping is not too bad to UK Reach our if you want a quote.
Dude what a dream studio. Looks and sounds absolutely beautiful.
Wow, lockdown would be great with a room like this 👌🏻👍🏻 one of the most laid back creative drummers I’ve seen in a long while 👌🏻👍🏻
In 1997 I wrote my dissertation on 'Converting homes to home studios' Pre internent it was no master piece, but I've always had in mind how I'd love to do it, and watching this was spot on. Stunning room.
The drum dream of a dreamy drummer!
Thats stunning MAN. Well done! HA! That reaction when the flutter was gone! Unbelievable!
Just when I thought I need to move on from my '67 Ludwig Hollywood and an older slingy jazz--I'm keepin' with 'em! Thanks for a wonderful tour, dig those effortless grooves.
WOW! That is the best example of flutter echo I've ever heard. Like, by definition! And the best elimination of it lol! Great job
I knew where the problems would be and came ready to solve them... I did not expect it to be so bad! Even with years of experience, I am always glad to hear the acoustic corrections happen so fast! Thank you!
This has got to be a dream come true! Congrats on the beautiful and functional studio!
13:40 and on I go, "Oh! He's not just a good drummer. He's a percussionist." What a nice video! I enjoyed the transformation.
Studio builds have become part of the genetics of drummers. Great video and beautiful work!
This is one of the coolest videos I've ever seen! Studio is EPIC, and your photographic and editing skills are evidently quite up to par. Real nice job Carter, and as always, thank you for sharing and inspiring!
Very inspiring!....Someday....
What a wonderful space! Sounds great!
WOW! That's cool! Great sound proofing. Also, love the background music with the Van!
Wowza! I've watched a lot of before/after vids of "studios" but this rocks them all! Doesn't hurt that you have made skills too. Thanks for sharing! Time to look into Mitch and his company also!
This room is dream come true
End result is amazing.
Wow. What a room. Sounds incredible. 👋🏻
That room sounds amazing! What a fucking result! Clean studio quality drums, solid mixing too
Wow, that setup from 13:03 is really nice! That stack of metal sound like a clap.
Lucky man! Congratulations!
I really love this video!! It gives me so much inspiration for my future studio space. Thanks for your work Carter, we appreciate it!
Beautiful and inspiring!
Looks great bro!! Love your drumming as well! The room sounds amazing!!! Great job again!!!!
It's so beautiful 😭
5:06 love the sound!
the last groove is super dope. nice job mate
Sounds great at the end!
Gorgeous.
Subbed for that tasy van riff. Great wood working dudes.
And as always,
I was entertained
Congrats, that's a nice sounding room!
Congrats Carter! It looks great! I've been using Audimute in all my studios for a good 10 years.
I appreciate yall part timers yall are the real backbone of amateur musicians who probably should just stop & learn how to play before going on u tube
BEA-utiful !!!
I’ve built several rehearsal and recording studio...
I’m guessing you dropped 10-15 G’s on this project.
Worth it, for us players anyway.
Thanks for the vid 🤩
A place to live and die for...........................
What a neat studio, love the shelves and guitar stands to hold drums and cymbals!
Beautiful work anda beautiful solos at the end!
What a great project it came out amazing. Especially with that last clip of you playing the drums what a great sound
Nice playing man . Great left hand and dynamics
Glad I found your channel. You got those drums sounding so good. Such a clean and crunchy saturated recording.
beautiful
So damn good!!! Every drummer dream!! Enjoy!!
You're a lucky man Carter! Brilliant stuff.....
Looks great!
I really want a nice home studio, good studio mate
Looks great and sounds great. But I wonder.... what is the sound (level) like in the rest of the house (behind the white door) while you play ?
Paul Westerveld I didn’t design it to be sound proof. I designed it to sound amazing. I don’t worry about bleed.
@@cartermclean You so gangsta
In other words they improved it by +/- 2dB
Focus was on sound quality vs acoustic Isolation. With all the absorption there was less sound leaving the space. Peacemaker helped keep the sound off the structure (reduced structural resignation). I don’t believe we even put seals on the door... again...different objective. Glad to help if you have questions... Just reach out. I am so proud of Carter’s outcome!
Awesome! One day I hope to build one too!
looks great man nice job!!
27 people thought buddy rich would have framed it differently. 😳🙄
I dream of this kind of set up.
And so I’m always glad to see people do it.
My drums have been held hostage for the last 11 weeks in our rehearsal place.
I can’t play in the flat I’m in.
So I’ll just have to wait.
Those snares sounds crazy!!
Love it
First Class job! Looks and sounds amazing!
Great work! And second drum kit sounds amazing!!!
'Gets the Headely Grange sound. Robert Plant books studio time. Shows up with All-Star cast.' Hey, we can dream, right? Great work.
Beautiful project! Congrats!
very cool - nicely done
jealous it looks so amazing
Hell yeah bro!!
Nice.
McGreen kit is sounding phenomenal. It would be cool to see how you get such a melodic sound from those drums!
haha, awesome. I like how the drum randomly appears in the room throughout the clip.
This is super inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
KILLER drum sound
Darn dude. Beautiful space. I could get lost in a spot like that
Very cool. Very very very cool. I'm sharing with my fellow drum nerds.
Wow!!
super studio bravo !!!
super batteur avec du matériel à l'ancienne (vintage)
bonne continuation pour vos futurs projet et merci pour votre partage...
Such a cool project!
wow!.. Very good,
Beautiful! Nice home for a couple of old drums. Lol
damn thats gorgeous
Every drums dream!
13:03 A M A Z I N G kit & groove!
Your rototoms sound great in that room.
Hey Carter, where did you get those cymbal stackers you have on the floor??? So much easier to have access and change out setups when their not packed away in road cases and less room involved if you have music store type trees... Thanks man!!! Great video!!!
classic Mitch
Thank You!!!!!! I live for transformations like this space!
Are those just guitar stands you have your cymbals on? Why didn't I think of that! That groove at the end reminds me of a Prince song but I can't remember which one. Awesome 👍
This is amazing bro!
How did you address the issue of interstitial condensation between the concrete floor and the new floating floor?
The rolls of sound barrier in the floor most likely acts as a moisture barrier, because it's a rubber sheet over an inch thick, and taped at all the seams.
Magnifique studio
Hi Carter, question: why did you opt for a wood floor over carpet? Wouldn't carpet help to absorb a lot of ambient noise?
Great playing as always.
@@kevinhartnell2075 - I've been a carpenter for 25+ years and built several quiet rooms like this, including one for a major studio. I've done both with carpeted floors and laminate/wood floors. I'm simply curious as to his decision and how he arrived at it as I prefer carpet.
@@kevinhartnell2075 - Hi Kevin, I've been drumming for almost 30 years (semi-pro for a while) and I get that some players/engineers prefer a more "live" room, but that can be achieved as easily as moving/removing baffles and panels like you said. In my opinion, carpet not only helps soak up ambient audio but helps keep gear in place, is better for dust control, helps absorb vibration and is more comfortable on the feet as I tend to be barefoot in the studio. Just my opinion.
Great work! Nice room. Inspiring stuff.
Very cool! How is the sound in the rest of the house? I have a basement studio and the neighbors and my family gets tired of the noise... curious how much the AudioMute worked - looks like you have every product in use. Did you test any sound levels inside the house? Before and after? Or just verbal appreciation from the Mrs?
Very nice. The only thing missing is the clutter from unwashed bandmates including guitar pedals, broken cables, empty red bull cans with associated insects, and one broken practice amplifier with “awesome tone when it works” next to the door.
But do you miss the garage?
Great drumming as always
Really cool!
Beauty Man!
Nice! But where do you work on your car and store all your stuff?
woow nice job
who the hell are YOU...and why have I just learned your name!
OMG dude... the studio is amazing but your talent is the true discovery here for me!
Will... Carter is an amazing drummer and human... Glad you found him!
Nice! I am in the middle of my build out... Hopefully I can make a cool video. LOL
Nice
Genial ver este proceso, gracias!! 🇨🇴
Sir, can you tell us your track?
Loop track I guess in the first video, and I really love it while listening like randomly hear, I didn't notice the sound but when the guitar and drums were build-in in the same pattern --- it tickles my head quickly!
Morfbeats! For those wondering what that is, they make that giant bell with the spring he's playing at the end. www.morfbeats.com/
Fluttering solutions.. Remember to angle your walls and ceiling 7 degrees or more out of parallel.
Sweet!
