- Dunlop has just taken the covers off its brand new Trailmax Mission tire, one the company is marketing as the ultimate 50/50 on and off-road hoop.
In development for the past two years and with more than 30 prototypes tested and rejected, the Mission has two objectives-go almost anywhere a big ADV bike can go, and get better mileage than any other 50/50 tire on the market. Авто/Мото
This guru guy from Dunlop is so smart allowing all the RUclipsrs time to interview him. Free marketing - but good info as well. I’m falling for it as I would like to try them on my r1250gs.
We had them on the GS and they worked great. But longevity is the big question we couldn't answer
I'm interested in getting them for my GS
Cycle News: it was said that the tire is fine on pavement, but not very massive grip on pavement.
I'm like to push my GS a lot and I want good grip. I don't ride much on dirt, however I want do that more, that's why I'm looking for 50/50 tire...
You know this is a great tire, it a Dunlop . Great bike tire. 🙋🏁
Thanks
Be looking for the 10,000k mile reveiw
120/70-17 front? What a pity they have no plans for Motard 17″ bikes? ... add in a 120/70-17 front to your plans, Mr Dunlop. Looks like a perfect competitor to the TKC80 for motard riders who enjoy a bit of dirt/drifting on back roads with their 17″ rims.
Who can answer my question!
Can I use tgis on my heavy cruiser? I Ride fast 90+ mph mostly on asphalt but time to time I have to pull in my long dirt drive way and my street tire all over sliding almost crashing my bike
Also I like looks of this tire
You know, I only counted him saying You know 52 times...can anyone top that?
He is an engineer not a presenter… maybe you should look at yourself.
LOL -
you know, you know, you know. If he knew he wouldnt ask lol.
All I really got out of this video is that we have a new tire that gives us better mileage. In the end, can we depend on it when we are on the road, in the sand, in the mud and some rocks?
Nice infomercial.
The tread pattern on the thumbnail looks like a Transformer emblem, lol.
Mate - I was just told Dunlop will not be bringing these tyres into Australia ! Looks like we need to buy direct from the USA.
we need it in a 120/70-17 front size - for the Kawasaki Versys - :)
Hi im curious: why no double tire compound in that tire ?
Probably to keep the cost/price down. I just installed one on my AT, replacing a Shinko 805. The Dunlop was only ~$50 more than the Shinko.
Looks more like a 60/40, where as a Pirelli MT 90 is a 70/30. I still think I'm going to try a set on my 1190R.
I was gonna say the same thing. Definately gives up off road capability for on road/longevity.
It's for sure a 60/40 in our book, too
Now "You know". ;)
He really needs to work on his presentation in this respect.
They look like great tyres.
Why ? he's a tyre engineer not a presenter, do you think you would be any better with a camera pointed at you.
Engineer not a presenter.. really!
can these tires be used with tubes?
Yes. I just had some mounted on new wheels for my DR650. 90/90-21 and 130/80-17.
cheers!
How many times does he say ( you know)?
Trust me, it was frustrating...
@@cyclenews you can tell he was kinda nervous being on camera.
I’m keen to try them on my r1250gs.
Do you know how they would compare to the Michelin Anakee Adventures. I’m assuming the new Dunlop would have less pavement grip but more off road ability.
Not sure. It's been a long time since we've had Anakee's on a test bike.
I wonder the same I’m running the anakees as well I’m gonna give these a go this week
@@ryanbrown7240 and how is it?
Same here. I have still Anakee2. They are old like a coal: 11 and 12 yes but didn't ride much, stored in dark garage with steady temps and my tires are still doing good. However, I want to change them. I'm riding 80/20, push hard my bike on a pavement, so my concern is: Anakee Adv or Trailmax Mission...
Big question...
i
want 2 try this tire on my 1290 sar
What they don't tell you is that these tires will drive you nuts with its extremely vibration till you arrive at your adventure trail, imagine riding over 5 hours to get to your trail, they will drive you nuts!
Thanks for the update
Guess I don’t need to watch the video in its entirety. The Dunlop guy says I already know. You know!
Looks like the marketing men have earned their pay check going by the number of people who are going to try them, time will tell if they are any good or just marketing hype
Yetiboy01 Australia - absolutely. The marketing worked on me except I was told Dunlop don’t plan to bring them to Australia. I wanted a set for my r1250gs.
@@vtv8man I wonder why? Is Dunlop scared of the the competition or wont the tyre stand up to the conditions here
its a new tire thats enough to get me to try it. instead of trying the same old tire thats been around for the past 10 years.
You know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
My goodness he has no skills!!!
You know,
Must have used it 35 times. I lost count!
Dam.
Thanks Tom! Will you come do the voiceover next time?
Yeah sure, a single compound tire that's already obsolete. Design by the sales department just look at the tread pattern.
This isn't a 50/50 tire. It's a 70/90 tire.
I had to start this video over and count the “You knows” from the engine. I counted 48. He’s definitely an engineer, probably a genius but public speaking is not his thing.
Are these things really any good?I don't trust any of these reviews..
They're a good tire if you're only doing a few dirt roads and then some road. If you want to get more off-road, you'll need a knobby tire, for sure.
Ya-know...
Yeah... you know.
Dunlops are garbage anyway wouldn't be putting them on my bike rather Anakee wilds or Tractionators
US made products are never garbage.
