    Great Kyle. Looking forward to the full test video of the tyres. Very interested!

      Yes, I am interested too. I personally "really need" to see how it handles deep sand wash sand and gnarly pointy and flat faced rocks... as that is what I ride in A LOT here... If it can't do those well, then in my opinion... its not really a 50/50 tire, but more of an 80% Street / 20% Dirt tire. Time will tell... Thank you for watching! - Kyle

    I'll give these a try on my Africa Twin. I've been a huge fan of the Shinkos (804-805) for the last couple of years on a few different bikes, but the torque on the AT shreds the rear tire in under 5000km.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад

      Ha! Ha! Speedytrip... I have an issue with tires shredding off the back of my bikes too ;) Its a "fun" problem to have ... I too have found the 804 / 805 tires to wear out quick... but they are CHEAP price wise as compared to other similar tires. Fun! Fun! Thanks for watching. - Kyle

    Awesome video !!! Looking forward to see how they perform in the sand. Also maybe you have the chance to ride them in the rain a bit, because I remember the Dunlop tire which came with my Africa Twin didn't work that well on wet pavement. However, this one looks like a winner so far.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад +2

      Thanks Swen! Yes... on tarmac and dirt / gravel roads this tire did exceed expectations. Now... just how good will it perform in the more difficult terrains... time will tell! Stay tuned! Thanks for your support. - Kyle

    Excellent. Be good to see how they perform in your standard testing. I have the Anakee Adventures on my GSA at the moment and have found them to be a bit slippy on wet roads. Mind you our roads here are pretty crappy. I think I prefer the TKC 70s so far as a good all-rounder.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад

      Very interesting feedback Triple Black Pieman, very interesting. I found the Anakee Adventure to do very well on wet asphalt, but not so much on cement. Streetability, I like your TKC70 suggestion, but did find it lacked the dirt performance I have come to enjoy from some of the more aggressive tires in the segment. Thanks for watching... and when the Mission Tire arrives I'll be a storm watcher... to see if I can find some RAIN to test in! Cheers - Kyle

    Those new Dunlop 50/50 tires seem awesome, but, im curious: why no double compound ?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад +2

      Dunlop said that they played with lots of technologies and tread compounds. This current compound gave the best feel and the most even wear. If the tread blocks were not so deep, a dual compound may have been warranted, but cold / wet weather straight line traction would have suffered. Any softer on the sides, off road traction would suffer and cornering squirm would present itself. This is what they believe to be the best set-up. Thanks for watching!

    How is the road noise, compared to street tires?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  4 года назад +1

      This Mission tire is as quiet and as smooth as a street tire. I have only put 2k miles on it though... I am unsure if it will get noisier as time goes on... 5k on a K60 Scout and the noise it nearly unbearable without earplugs! - Kyle

    I would definitely try these tires on my XT600 if they made a suitable rear size, like 120/80-18 or 4.60x18. I don't like to run mismatched tread patterns, so as it stands i'm planning to put on a set of Metzler Sahara Enduro 3's next season. I'm just really wanting a 50/50 or 60/40 front tire that won't cup badly on pavement.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад

      Totally understand! That front tire cupping is a real problem that most manufacturers have not cured. I think you'd like them on the XT and they should have your size mid-2020 from what I have been told. Thanks for watching! - Kyle

    Can you tell me what was the preasure of your Dunlop tyres?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  4 года назад +1

      Dunlop recommends they tire to be run at full pressures. I was running 35ish on the street and 25 to 30psi off road depending on the terrain.

    How do these compare to the Anakee Wilds or Anakee Adventure tires?
    I am riding the Anakee Adventure tires on my Africa Twin Adventure Sports, and they have been really amazing on road, and surprisingly good off-road. I have done things with them that I didn't think I could do with any tires.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you for your inquiry Kiran. Dunlop is marketing these tires as a true 50/50 that will compete with the Anakee Wild... BUT I "see them" being more like the Anakee Adventure tire. Hopefully the Mission tire does surprise me as did the Anakee Adventure, that would be nice! Thanks for watching. - Kyle

    what about the weight of the tyre on the 790?... i'm worried about too much unsprung weight...

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  3 года назад

      It’s the heaviest of ADV tires, but you won’t notice it much on the 790. FYI the lightest of all ADV tires is the TKC80 or run the TKC70 Rocks in the rear for light... or the Bridgestone AX41.

    The Vstrom is 80/20 bike or something like 70/30 top...it is like "mule" for loading with official 3 x10kg at back. How many bikes in his class have similar capabilities? It is wrong to compare it with KTM 790 or CRF1000... Also try to put OFF the traction control and will see the diference.

    Awesome Kyle as usual. Thank you 😊.
    I’m still very keen to try them on my r1250gs.
    Do you know how they would compare to the Michelin Anakee Adventures. I’m assuming the new Dunlop would have less pavement grip but more off road ability. Do you think it’s a true 50/50 ? Cheers Ian

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад +3

      I really think this tire will be a great R1250GS tire... As for a true 50/50 rating, I am interested too and the jury is still out. - Kyle

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад +1

      After having put 3k miles on these tires - YES they are a True 50/50 tire. I will see about 6k out of them and most riders will see about 8k mixed street / dirt. They are equal to the Anakee Adventure on the pavement (except in the wet) and perform like the Anakee Wild off-road. In the wet, the lack of Silica and the single compound work against it... but they still do a great job. When the AX41's on my personal bike wear out (love those too... but they last like 3k miles only) I will mount up the Mission Tires for a long term review. I think you will love the Mission tire on your R1250GS. Thanks for watching! - Kyle

      Kyle Bradshaw ...So after your thorough review and comments and taking into consideration that these tires are below MICHELIN ANAKEE ADVENTURE on pavement because of their capabilities on wet and, also considering that they behave pretty much like the ANAKEE WILD off-road, would you say that the CONTINENTAL TKC-70 ROCKS, with the Silica compound and the new pattern for off-road, can be the best of both worlds and overall superior than DUNLOP’s and MICHELIN’s? Thanks for your insight!

    Looks like the marketing men have earned their pay cheque going by the number of people who are going to try them & social media posts, time will tell if they are any good or just marketing hype

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  5 лет назад +1

      Exactly! Time will tell. I was disappointed 2 fold... 1, that I was not able to mount up a set on my 1190 so I could punish them and "really test them." and 2ndly... that our group rides were very mild off-road. Nothing really challenging. Now way to test a 50% dirt rating on a flat fire road... I need some obstacles! I am looking forward to getting my set that I can put to the grind here in another week or so... Stay tuned! Thanks for watching! - Kyle
