I fiited these tyres to my Truimph 900 Rally pro.. Have done 3500 km on them including a trip to Namibia which was predominantly a sand and loose gravel ride. I was really impressed how the tyre tracked in sand and the grip it privided in rocky sections.. considering that it is a realtive quite tyre on tar which
provide excellent performance in the twisties, I must confess that it is the best all round tyre I have ever fitted to an adv bike..I have no doubt that I will extract 6000km on them ...what a tyre!!

Great video! I fitted DTM tires to my brand new 2020 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro when it had 11 miles on it. Over the course of one year, I put 18,000+ miles on them, mainly pavement riding, with occasional off-road rides which included rocks, gravel, loose dirt, and sand.. 90% of those miles were heavily loaded with rider+luggage, or heavy two-up riding. I was superbly impressed with their traction in the majority of conditions...except for hard-pack snow and ice. At the time I swapped them out, I felt that I likely had another 2,500-3,000 miles of tread life left on the tires, but I was needing a knobby set for 4,000 miles of off-pavement trail riding. I plan to purchase another set of DTMs for my 2021 Yamaha Tenere 700 very soon for my round-trip ride to Alaska and back. Great tire Dunlop! Just as an afterthought, I am also running Falken Wildpeak AT3s on my truck and love them too!

That's actually impressive since I've heard from "2 Wheeled Rider" in his review that Dunlop claims that you will get up to 8000 miles out of them and that's already a bold claim. ruclips.net/video/q70MlDI95ZY/видео.html

Great to hear Keith providing great detail and not just rehashing marketing material.

I'm really happy with this tyre. 1200GS, mainly on road. Fast but reasonable pace, not racing.
It lasts forever, grips as much as I dare on public roads and is decent for easy off-road, as long as you don't get into deep mud or sand.
The only caveat: it spins when the tarmac is wet. But I live in Madrid, so it doesn't happen often, when it happens I rarely ride, and then I can adjust my driving if I need to.

Thanks Bruce and team for bringing us these very important educational videos. Some of our clients have had great results with the Mission tyres on our Karoo tours.

Great video, I think I am sold and will be changing my OEM BRIDGSTONE Batlax off my 2022 R1250 GSA. The OEM is pretty good on road in my opinion, and in SPECIAL in heavy rain with standing water, the only issue for me is I do a 15% off road, and the OEM is really bad due to being a 80x20 tire.
Too bad NO ONE ever reviewed the DTM under heavy rain conditions, I would be very interested as I am always caught on rain in long trips.
    Thank you
    Cheers

I put a set on my ktm 690 enduro r to replace my worn out knobby tires. I don’t get off-road as often as I’d like but I do use my bike for commuting to work and quick trips to the shops a lot. I had to change the rear every couple thousand miles so I decided to try a set of 50/50 tires. My buddy has a set on his BMW F800GS and he likes them so I gave them a shot. They were very slippery when I first mounted them but after getting some miles on them they are really good. They are quiet and smoother than the knobby tires. I am hoping that they last longer than the other tires I’ve run. After hearing how long they’ve lasted on these heavier bikes I’m pretty sure they will

I also have them on my 2005 1200GS. Mud and deep sand, be careful, but anything other than that, no problems, even in hard rain on the N2 PE to George safely at “120”km/h on highway speeds. 😮😂

This video seemed like an infomercial for the Dunlap tires. The real question that I would have is why do current owners say they work real well in the wet when new but once they get some miles on them, they become slippery in the wet??

did adv rider training with Thomas Bohm with these fitted to a Tiger 800 XCA - perfect performance - even dug the bike out of deep sand in 2nd from standstill (stall - I stuffed up my clutch control)
2 guys with me on the course had Trallmax's fitted to 1250's - they were also siging the tyres' praises - one of them is a member of our 2022 GS Challenge team so he knows his shit
and I rode these back from CT to Jhb in one day on tar with panniers loaded - held up beautifully even at 40°+ thru the Karoo - and yes, I was in a hurry to get home

    • @SuperSnallygaster

How were they in the wet? I'm looking to fit these to my 1250GSA. I do a lot of highway miles to get to the forest roads and it inevitably rains at least one day.

@@SuperSnallygaster the front is perfect but the rear is a single hard compound which does get twitchy in the wet
the rear will twitch and give you a pucker moment but it has never let go or gotten out of control even when I was being stupid - might be the TC that kept things under control
therefore - rain mode (if available) and easy on the throttle (as you should be in any event in the rain)
on my second set now and still happy to recommend for longevity and dual-use - I ride a lot of dirt and appreciate the dirt performance while still having a tyre that has good pavement manners

    • @zeuszoegutsy
      @zeuszoegutsy 6 месяцев назад +1

@@SuperSnallygaster just be very wary of mud as the lugs are not deep/wide enough to properly clear unless you have enough speed
my 800 Tiger is lighter than your 1250 and I think for your bike and use, the TrailMaxes would work very well

excellent review guys its really good to get a good in dept look at these kind of tyres and im looking for something for my gs that it offering both i mostly drive on road but lately i've been going off road with one of the lads and his
T7 he's got the mitas E07 + tyres and there great tyres but on the gs im looking for as much of an advantage i can without sacrificing too much on road !! i was looking at the mitas E12's for more of an aggressive approach because some of the places we have been going to have been rough enough that i wouldnt of made it on the road tyres road 6's !! but i try and tackle as much as i can because it such a laugh but my question is would i be better as a novice off road rider going for more of an aggressive tyre then these just until i gain more experience ?? we all know the gs is a big bike but i slightly determined to use it for what its made for without having to buy a second bike because i always wanted the gs and know ive got one im happy to treat her the way she should be rough and ready !!

I have a Trailmax Mission on my KTM 1290 Adventure R .... Never again will I put these tyres on my bike. It has no grip as the tyre is to hard and takes forever to wear out. It spins in 1st, 2nd and even 3rd without effort. When the road is wet this tyre is dangerous. This is just my personal experience actually using them. Will 100% not fit these again

    • @heinifalk809

In the rain I can drift with this tyre better than Ken Block (RIP). Really not a fan. Front tyre isn't to bad but the rear I would go for almost any other 50/50 tyre. Look... In all honesty this tyre will give you 15,000km but to sacrifice grip for longevity
