    Kyle, thank you for doing a true test of these tires. I used to race motocross, have done a number of track days on sport bikes, and now I’m rocking a 2018 ATAS. The moment I saw these tires I thought they actually looked like they’d be a good 50/50 tire despite some people saying they looked too slick. I am extremely pleased to hear they are living up to what I was expecting to see, and Dunlop’s hype. These will be my next tires for sure now. Again, thank you for your work testing and reviewing these. I have become a true fan of yours, and also these new tires.

      Thank you for your support Ethan! Sounds like we come from similar riding backgrounds (minus the motocross)... Check out my R1200GSA at Laguna Seca on TKC80's : ruclips.net/video/m9G7tuF4lHI/видео.html That was a good time! These Dunlop Mission tires have really really impressed me. I would have liked them to include more silica in the compound for better wet weather traction... but that is my ONLY suggestion. They have killed it with this tire for sure. Happy Holidays. - Kyle

    • @matthagge4792
      @matthagge4792 4 года назад +1

      @@manybikes Hey Kyle. You wish they'd have better wet traction, but does that mean they're not great in the wet? I'm looking for a 50/50 tire but I also ride and commute year round in the PNW where we get 3-4 months of rain every year, so wet performance needs to be good for me to feel safe commuting in the rain. Think these would fit the bill still?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  4 года назад +1

      Matt Hagge they were okay / good in the rain - but not spectacular. If i rode them “normally” they were good. If I pushed them with abnormal acceleration or excessive breaking - they lost traction. This tire doesn’t have silica, nor dual compound... which could have improved the wet weather traction.

    • @manybikes

      Yes they are! Pretty sweet tires! Dunlop hit a home run on them... well at least a triple. I would have like to have seen a Dual Compound. Heavier in the center and lighter on the sides. I wear out the center of this tire more than any other tire I have run. Side are super stiff... could use a softer sticker rubber and then they would be "even more amazing" and would wear evenly.

    Thanks for your reviews! So helpful. I’m considering the Trailmax mission, Anakee wild or Battlax Ax41 for my 790R. I really like the longevity of the Trailmax. The performance of the Battlax. I’ve heard the Michelin is better than the Dunlop as a 50/50. It seems you prefer the Dunlop. Few questions: 1. What would you recommend? 2. Would you consider a combination of these three? One for the rear and a different one for front? If so what would you do?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  4 года назад +1

      My pleasure & Great questions! The TrailMax Mission tire is for sure a great 50/50 tire that works well almost everywhere. The AX41 is amazing but wears out really quickly. The Anakee Wild is the most “dirt bike like” feeling tire. I would make a different choice / recommendation for various “different trips” depending on the terrain, distance and percentage of hard core dirt / sand / mud and tight or fast road twistes. A pairing I really like is the Motoz RallZ rear and the TrailMax Mission front. Lots of possible options...

    Thanks Kyle. This video was a real revelation. In the snow I have done many miles with the same snow, more or / and less, having the old TW152 / 101 which worked much better than I saw in comparing them with the Mission.
    In the dirt and light mud, these tires will certainly work well. I think the cold (weather) wet element is not the best in their performance.
    The tire recipe lacks silica and therefore does not perform well in the full liquid range, which is something the Michelin Adventure does extremely well.
    There are - and + as usual at any tire model.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  4 года назад

      Oh man... Put on the Spot. Well... the AX41's are currently on 2 of my bikes. The Dunlop Mission tire is on a third and the Motoz Tractionator Adventure is on a 4th. The AX41 is my favorite as it is amazing when new and has great feedback (sport bike like) from the road and is the lightest tire of the bunch... but it wears out quickly. If you want a little more longevity... AX41 in the front and a Motoz RallZ in the rear would be an option I would run. The TrailMax Mission tire is very interesting... I REALLY Like it... but it does not provide the "road feeback" that the AX41 does... and is less grippy in the rain. But I love it none-the-less as it is the best all around tire of the bunch. There are many way you could go... Sorry to be not so "concise" in my answer to you. Okay... Probably the TrailMax Mission on a GS... Thanks for watching! - Kyle

      The GPS rear will get more mileage than the Mission due to the solid center. The GPS in Mostly Off Road will get about the same traction as the Mission rear tire. The Mission will be smoother running and a littler quieter than the GPS. Very similar tires! That is for sure. - Kyle

The Dunlop TrailMax tires will outlast a TKC80 by 2 or 3 times... it is "super close" to the TKC80 performance off-road and is much better when it it comes to street performance. • @manybikes
      @manybikes  3 года назад

      Mixed Bag Alex... I LOVE the AX41 way more than I do the Mission tires for several reasons... 1st they feel GREAT on the street (sport bike like soft sidewalls that allow you to feel the road) and 2nd the are aggressive and work really really well off-road and 3rdly they are MUCH lighter than the Mission tire, which is very noticeable on the small but mighty 390. Was my favorite dirt tire on my 390 Duke. Now the BIG downside of the AX41 is the fact I got barely 2500 miles out of the rear. Not enough ... that is for sure. I have switched to the TKC70 Rocks in the rear and love it. Check this out: ruclips.net/video/Fziyvet4A6c/видео.html Now the Dunlop TrailMax Mission is a fantastic tire that will probably take you 8k miles on the 390 but is is heavy and you can feel it (and see it on the speedo) when on the highway battling traffic. Hope this helps...

The Anakee Wild will by the best tire choice for your 250. Sizes / dimensions do make a difference too... the smaller / lighter tire you can put on your bike will be best for overall performance.

Before that I had the K60s which were pretty decent offroad but dodgy on the road, especially when it got wet...
    Do you think the Missions would perform as good as the Anakee ADV on road/wet? I'll be honest and say that most of my ride is on road but I do love to explore country roads and you never know what you'll get, so having off-road capabilities would be great.
