      I just got the same combo - D606 rear and MT21 front for my new-to-me WR250R. Have not put them on just yet. Have you installed and how do you like them. My Trail Wings would slip and slide around on sand and dirt. Kinda felt like riding on snow. Not cool.

      That is my next combo. Especially with how the pavement wears the front. I’ve flipped my d606 front even though directional I am 100% going with the d606 again with mt21 front next time

    I had D606s front and rear on my DR650 and liked them, now I'm on a DRZ400E and am hating the D606 on the front, I have to run very low tyre pressure to have any confidence on the gravel roads, will be changing to a MT21 as soon as, however the D606 for the rear is always a winner 🏆, great content Josh keep up the great work

      I have them on the front of my KTM 690 Enduro R. I think I’ll deflate them a bit, because they get kinda squirrely on gravel roads and small rocks.

    • @A10Cobra
      @A10Cobra 5 месяцев назад

      I run the D606 under 5 psi with rim locks on the front. I also found the front a little squirrely off-road. Lower tire pressure helps. Predominantly off-road riding. I'll try something different for the front tire next round. D606 on the rear is great. WR 250 R.

    • @DualSportDoug

      The front D606 is evil. I've seen two very good riders crash (front tire wash out on them). They both said it was due the D606.
      For that reason, When I needed new tires back then, in 2006, I stuck with the MT21 on the front of my DRZ and went to a D606 on the rear. The rear 606 holds up better than the rear MT21.

    • @_JoshJB_
      @_JoshJB_  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@Adon.Y I didn’t mention tyre pressure in this one. I’m pretty lazy with my pressures. Usually I’m on 20 front and back and I just run with it. Can lower them a bit when off-road but I would leave a little extra in the rear if you’re carrying some luggage 👍🏼

    Hey Josh. Long time watcher, first time commenter ! Being a T7 rider, I started following for the T7 content. I'm currently running a D606 on front. Loved it for the first 1000k's👍 But I found the off-road performance went away quickly as the tyre scolloped from road use. This is probably due to the weight of the T7 more than anything. Pity they're directional. If you could swap rotation to improve wear, I'd by another. I'll be trying the Motoz Dual-venture next. Being a non-directional tyre ( you can swap rotation), i should get better wear out of it🤞Anyway, really enjoy the content. stay safe out there, and keep the vids coming bro👍🤙

    A million years ago I bought a 640 Adventure and it came with 908 Rally Raids. They were absolutely terrible on that bike. I wanted narrower tires right off. At the time the 606 was a new option. I got them and never looked back. They grip until they are bald. The front wears terribly and ends up looking like reverse shark teeth at about the halfway point. But they still keep gripping. So I just don't care. They are loud. But friends have gotten all sorts of tires and I have watched them struggle in all sorts of conditions. And the 606 just works for me in Utah. Lots of gravel, packed dirt roads, and sand. Not much mud. And they grip like crazy on the road. I like to carve canyons and these do not really hold me back. The 640 is no powerhouse. So that is part of this. But that describes a ton of bikes in this segment. I do not think they would do well on my 1190, but I could be wrong there too.

    i've got a d606 on the rear of my drz that's done 7000km i'm doing some commuting now which is why i left it on to run it right out. so i would say definitely you can take a d606 to 7k km if you want to wear it right down to the limit or even more if you ride gentle.
    on road the rear will let you know it's at the grip limit by gradually starting to slide it doesn't just let go all of a sudden. so while it isn't a road tyre it is fairly road friendly.. there's better offroad tyres that will only last 1k km and there's better on road tyres that will plant you face first into the ground as soon as you leave the tar. so the d606 does very well at doing both.

    I like the 606 because of its on-road characteristics. For me they will lean all the way over to the edge and not slip. I can get the rear to slide under throttle while cornering but its predictable. I think these are fantastic road tires if you want to run a knobby and they do well off road too. Probably not the best off road but on road they are unbeatable.
