there is no shortcut for how to know who/what is trustworthy other than using your brain and thinking critically, because scammers' entire career is figuring out and mimicking those shortcuts. nobody is going to be wearing a trenchcoat in a dark alley asking you to donate to the Eating Babies Foundation.

Bro, I am seeing so-called “educated people” get caught to these snake oil sellers every day.
I believe people need to start not only to think about themselves but also about others when deciding on something.
Most people only think about benefits they going to get instead of others who are going to suffer from that.

I've been binge watching a bunch of coffeezilla and have to agree, these con artists always have a charismatic "well they seem like a nice guy" attitude. The surprising thing I keep seeing is on small time grifters trying to sell gaming universities to people trying to push almost cult like social networks is how their followers just blindly follow with those excuses:
"Well you'll see if you join the discord they are all really are a nice person/people"
"Oh they don't see like the type to lie"
"You just need to try it to see it work"
"Oh, it doesn't always work if you don't try hard enough"
I just wish there was more that you could do to inform. these days, these con groups have media teams to downvote videos, sockpuppet accounts to harass people, & dox critics. It happens from the biggest names to the smaller ones, but it seems there is no real way to stop some of these people, they ALWAYS come back.

to appeal to his audience, brian rose recently posted a video saying that "hospitals are no busier than this time last year". glad nobody in his family is currently in an ICU to test that statement.
also, actions have consequences. brian posted lots of pictures on his community of him riding the tube without wearing a mask. because he knew his followers would like that.
a bit later, i found myself on a tube train where everybody was wearing a mask. all except one person - and that person had a londonreal t shirt on.
and like some bad movie, that person was coughing into his hands every now and then {eyeroll}. thanks brian, we appreciate your work ;D

While "con" is often used abbreviated like this in terms like con-man, and it makes we think of someone more obviously and even cartoonishly scammy, like with a suitcase of snake oil, the word is really the shortening of "confidence" in the expression "confidence trick," a trick based on earning the mark/target's confidence. The more likable one seems, the more likely one is to succeed in this line of dishonest "career."

I agree. Charisma, rapport and likability are actually the Staples of scammers. It's because of their personality that they're actually able to sucker so many. AND might I add that many of them actually believe their own scam which makes them a lot more believable. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
