For me I remember a old Courage the Cowardly Dog episode that referenced this.
HOLY SHIT DUDE...I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS BASED OFF OF A REAL AD! XD
After years of scamming people, Tom decided to pursue a prank calling career under the name "Buk Lau."
He/she wants to twerk like Miley Cyrus.
Lol, OwnagePranks
Lol
lol
"It's a small elite club and you ain't in it...." - George Carlin 😏😒😠🤔
Illuminat Freemasonic luciferians = shaq, Jennifer lopez and just about every celebrity and Musician who sold their soul to be in the club.
When the title of the infomercial is "Secrets of Success" (SoS) That should be the first clue! These OG hucksters at least had enough class to include ironic and sarcastic humor to their cons! Just like that Hawaii shill and his "... beautiful beaches!" 🤣😂 Blessings all! 💪❤🙏💯
and holy shit $300,000 in 1991, that's over half a million now
and just in 1 week
For my time and expertise that is a steal
😂
If based on the currency now, its probably million a week
@@ricobacalla7834 Nah, $300,000 in 1991 is $567,834.80 today
What are you talking about that’s more than a million back then for sure lol
Dan Lok might be the unrecognized son of Tom Vu and some WATERFALL 😆
"History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes" - Mark Twain(?). Different tools, same scam
Young coffee here.
I went to his seminar located near Anaheim convention center back in the late 80's! He was running down the aisle. Knew it was a scam because the lawyers were just using his story.
There was a cartoon... I can’t exactly remember which one, either Johnny Bravo or Courage the Cowardly Dog that randomly had a Wu like character, that would pop up on their TV on an infomercial, it was hilarious!!!! Little did I know they pulled it from a real life situation.
I remember too 🤣🤣🤣 never understood until now
izzojunior omg that’s why Tom Vu looked familiar! Thankyou for this 😂
Cartoon network days
The character was from courage the cowardly dog, he used to advertise about "Get Rich Schemes", and eustece once got scammed 😂
Beavis & Butthead featured Vu in, like, 1991
I always watch full ads of these become millionaire 'gurus' on your channel as it gives me immense satisfaction to know that they are indirectly paying you to expose themselves.
That means i watch every ad on your videos. Lol
I love how no one in the ad is going to even mention the *copious* amount of bikini-clad women 🤣
LMFAO my dad told me he went to this guy's seminar back in the day when he was young and gullible, just freshly graduated from college. I was showing him today's scammers which prompted him to mention this guy.
Of course it's not a "Get Rich Quick Scheme". It's a "Fast Money-Making System". He says so right in the video 😂
Sorry I didn't hear that. The waterfalls distracted me 🤣
Which is completely different!!!!! Absolutely, 💯 not at all the same thing!
No it's a "Become wealthy in a short period of time method" , totally different than a get rich quick scheme
@@NeighborSenpai The method of the acquisition of wealth rapidly.
Is that the don’t be a don’ter be doer guy from Pain & Gain?
Same question i had! Good observation man!
Jonny Wu 😂
Yes that was based on him lmao
ohhhh i see....you're one of those guys that think all yellow or black people look the same huh?? smh
@@4evaReadyEddie lmao it’s a parody of him what are you saying that I’m a racist because he reminded me of his parody?
I remember this guy. That commercial was on all the time for a while. It was so popular that Jim Carry spoofed it on In Living Color
These guys are actually pretty damn good if they're able to come up with a system that people willingly give them money. Greed never fails.
Coffee went so far from here regards his reporting.
Great transformation!
I remember seeing this infomercial as a small kid. I always remember seeing SMC infomercials too. They had one with Tom Bosley too. And we can't forget about TINY CLASSIFIED ADS!
7:13 Well well well, Coffee. If you need a mentor, I could help! It’ll only cost you $297 per quarter, but because you’re a close friend, I’ll slash that price to $99 per month!
99 per month is more than 297 per quarter... I pass
And the first 100 people to signup will get bonus merchandise and one bonus year of premium membership
What?! Real- wait...
If you are interested DM me.
Dude, you're selling yourself cheap.
Why does this sound so much like Grant Cardone. The "wish I had a mentor" line the 16k "bootcamp". Brazy
Cardone is giving most of his money to Scientology
Tom Vu was a genius...... and I agree, I think the scammers today are getting worst......
You are doing a good service to America, I am proud of you ❤️
Dude, reminds me of Jordan Belfort. He used to have cheesy infomercials with yachts and girls.
Get rich quick scheme: *I sleep*
Quick money making system: *WOKE*
Im in my 60 s , this guy was the butt of a lot of imitations jokes " What R U waiting for ?" LOL he was Hilarious ...
Ever hear something called "trump university". He made some videos talking about wealth and telling people that they could become rich like him.
"Don't go chasing waterfalls. Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to..." - TLC (1994)
Yep, and this Tom Vu guy wasn't the first either. People were probably doing these schemes in ancient Greece!
Babylon had them too😂
You can Google copywriting examples of newspaper ads selling books, audio tapes, seminars on how to get rich. Before TV existed.
I remember when I was a kid in the late 80's this church would advertise a free Gold cross pendant for simply calling and having a brochure sent to your house. Of course, they were trying to sell you something. But you'd still get the gold cross pendant. Well, long story short, they did send me the gold cross pendant. It was a plastic cross painted in gold flashy paint. Scam... My stepfather told me, no one gives you anything for free. And the usual quote: If it sounds to good to be true it usually isn't. Well, fast forward 30+ years. And I have yet to hear of anyone I know in all those years, gaining anything because someone just wants to help you out. Sad truth to those out there who grasp on to hope that this time will be the truth to help with their situation. NOBODY CARES ABOUT JOE SHMO'S LIFE ISSUES. ONLY YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE> IT TAKES WORK>>>
daaaamn that facial hair has more charisma than charisma on command
ahhahahaaha charisma on command is only clickbait
Tbh he had a much better ad than half of the current gurus.
Lol I remember Tom Vu from a parody on Beavis and Butthead - “Make a lotta money!”
god i forgot about tom vu. Those videos were the best part of being high at 3am
"I not smart, I not good looking, Im Tommy Vu- You dont take my course, you deserve to be poor!"
This is pure gold. I hope you are taking notes...It's like he's the rich dad you've been needing your whole life!
Jordan Belfort used the same tactics before Tom Vu back in the 80's
The only difference is Jordan is possibly the best salesman with the best system.
He actually provides great value.
On how to scam people
If he provided value then he would not be a scammer, maybe that is why this channel did not use him as an example.
So you go to jail for providing value 🤔 huh
LOL. This reminds me of a MADtv skit where Bobby Lee does a character like Tom Vu. Hilarious!
Losing money on a scam is in itself .... a very educational experience. As always it’s better to learn from someone’s else’s loss, but if it was your loss... that memory really gets embedded.
"He who is running a race ought to endeavor and strive to the utmost of his ability to come off victor; but it is utterly wrong for him to trip up his competitor, or to push him aside. So in life it is not unfair for one to seek for himself what may accrue to his benefit; but it is not right to take it from another."
