this video is an opinion and in no way should be construed as statements of fact. scams, bad business opportunities, and fake gurus are subjective terms that mean different things to different people. I think someone who promises $100K/month for an upfront fee of $2K is a scam. Others would call it a Napolean Hill pitch.
I’ve always wondered if these gurus realise that if everyone quits their 9-5 job, there wouldn’t be a stock market to trade in in the first place.
😂😂

Whenever I hear "dropped out of college" when it comes to success, I always assume they dropped out because something they worked on took off, not that they dropped out with nothing in mind
Duh
Exactly. Like yes, some successful people are college drop outs and some people never even go to college, but they all still do something. They don't just leave college and then wake up the next morning to a random 10 million dollars appearing in their bank account magically.
I can't tell you how many conversation I've had don't truly understand the concept of you don't need college to succeed. Many really think they just suddenly become "successful" without any type of education or personal success. Have a younger relative telling me he can own a construction company without college yet doesn't know carpentry or that industry let alone owning a business.
THIS is what no one thinks about in my opinion.
@@crypticutopia7228its possible to get rich because I have a cousin who is a millionare but it took him years there is no such things as quick money
These people always seem to miss the point of why they actually dropped out of college... It's because they had inovative business idea and didn't have time to attend college and pursue their dreams at the same time. These successfull college drop-outs didn't drop out because they were like "Yeah I guess I'll play a little currency exchange and I'll be millionaire in two weeks!"
Plus they dropped out of ivey league schools such as Harvard lol
And they have access to capital. They didn't buy a mower to mow lawns, they partnered with capital and hired twenty employees on day one.
I like the conspiracy idea that someone put them as the heads of those companies but someone or something is controlling the worlds biggest companies from the shadows.
@@cfamick lol what

As a healthcare professional, i just don't even understand this narrative. I get that you don't need college to be successful, but if my doctor or nurse wasn't at least making Bs in school.... I could never trust them.
Don't come to Canada where most of my nursing classmates barely got C's lol
@@thezeddy yeah, Canada is a bit rough with grading compared to the states, haha.
@@thepurplepanda4 yeah if you make below 75 in anything you can't graduate. Even if it's a breeze of a course like communications . Which in my province every class including trades needed to take. It's essentially how to make a resume and how to not be a dick in the work force 101....to put it into perspective I graduated with a 3.5 GPA/ 90% average. I was the top of my class and we started with 40 classmates and finished with maybe 12
@@thezeddy Honestly I don't trust test scorings either. There's a lot of people who are academically smart, but when they get put in a real life situation where they have to apply the stuff they learned, they draw a blank.
As long as people got through college, I'd say that's enough to AT LEAST trust them to know what they're doing.
College degrees aren't a good measure of competency/intelligence
Do people not realize that before the 9-5 schedule, people were working 12-16 hour days with only Sundays off at a factory?
But people need 2 9-5 jobs just to pay rent meanwhile one job back then would be enough to buy 5 houses.

I mean he's somewhat correct in that no 9-5 jobs are gonna make you rich. Most profitable jobs, like quant traders, SW engineers at top Silicon Valley companies, and wall st. analyst work way more than that. 9-5 is a scam indeed, but you need to work more not less.
Shoutout to Robert kiyosaki for making a career out of about 3 paragraphs worth of information regurgitated in a million different ways

I've read his first book in one seating because it's so entertaining. This was around 10 years ago. His next books are really just the same story regurgitated.
@@phoenix5054 It was entertaining when I was 20 and never had thought about money, and growing up around NYC, the thought of not spending loads of money on my image and over-paying on rent was a new thought to me. However, as a 40 yo, I am not getting anything from the book.
Hey whats the main content of the book? I was about to buy his book but that thing so much to read.
Many years ago.i read one of Robert's books because it was free to checkout at he library. Pages and pages that could have condensed into a few paragraphs.
So if you need a Physical Therapist or a doctor or a nurse, lawyer, guess what..those are considered 9-5 jobs. If your pipes burst and you need a plumber although they work around the clock that is a traditional job. Do these people understand how ridiculous they sound? College is expensive and not for everyone but people are needed in all types of professions and that is ok
God forbid we get invaded. The military is primarily a 9-5 job (If you wanna count PT it'd be 6-8 with an hour break), so who'd defend us? XD
Literally this…literally lol. What about grocery stores, movie theaters, teachers, hospitals…..we can’t all be day traders lol
Indeed. What about all those people unglamorously keeping the *real* economy functioning, day in, day out? Suckers, apparently, according to the JC Penny guru. Ummmm.... Maybe he actually couldn't hack it at JC Penny?
Well many physical therapists, doctors, and plumbers are small businesses rather than employees so I think they are not exactly 9-5. Nurses work 12 hour shifts and honestly I do think nurses might be getting scammed considering the crap they put up with compared to what they are paid. Not to say there aren't good examples of 9-5 jobs. The best advise I ever got on college was from my community college’s academic/career advisor: “figure out where you want to be, figure out the steps it takes to get there, then follow those steps and not get distracted with other things.” So if you’re goal involves trade school, then do that instead of an Ivy League. If it is about experience only, then intern or apprentice instead of college. But if you want a career that normally requires a certain level of college, then do that amount of college. Generally not PhD.
I want to make anime.
Cool but, I doubt anyone has ever decided between an Ivy league school and trade school. Usually you decide between university and trade school and if you do decide to go to university and end up doing well enough to get a scholarship to an Ivy league school, then you do that. Otherwise you end up at whatever university is nearby that you can afford to attend. If you can afford an Ivy League education and are paired for it (through lifelong tutoring) then your parents damn sure aren't going to let you throw away their investment in you by letting you go to trade school.
This right here. This is how it's done.
I was a young kid and my town got WRECKED in the financial crisis back in 2008. I wanted to be one of the guys that looks into corporate fraud. My family didn't have the money to afford school so I joined the army. Did my hitch, and meanwhile planned the next steps. So, I needed an accounting or finance degree, then experience as an auditor so started interning there. Still in the auditor phase and it's so far a good gig. I work 9-5 being a fact-checker on other people's financial data. Good experience and still chasing that dream. No regrets.

Really good advise. I wish I got that advice when I was in High School. I wanted to work in animation and in retrospect it seems obvious, go to an art school but being a teen in high school, my goal was to go to a University. The fancier, the better. You say that like it's a bad thing
Society can collapse either way some people work at jobs but the economy can still not be in good shape I really think there should be a change in the job system. I think some people would probably take more jobs that require no experience that offer health care and benefits the job is remote where you don’t deal with many people it’s not all positive dealing with many people it’s why jobs end up toxic or the person picks up the work from the company and just finish it where ever they stay at. The successful people who dropped out of college did so from unis like Harvard and were so brilliant that they had learnt the stuff people learn in unis by themselves. For example, Bill Gates made an algo that worked so well even professors were impressed that no one had found something better than that (for a very long time after that). What really matters is what major you choose and as you say, you've got to do the work. A degree in some humanities field or art isn't really going to get you anywhere other than maybe being a teacher.
People think they collect their social/ecocnomic benefits because of learning and knowledge. Or in worst case because of connections.
But recent(and not so) studies came to different conclusion.
Almost all benefits come with degree. Higher education is not wealth generation mechanism, it's wealth redustribution through so called signalling. Degree is signal that distribute wealth on highly competitive labor market. It doesn't matter if you fake degree, or get it by learning hard, you get all benefits by stealing wealth from people without degree.
Why we see slower economy growth and salaries stagnation while there is more higher educated people than ever? Because they don't produce welath.
Thats how it works.
@@Acid31337 the problem with what you're saying is that the economy (as measured by the stock market) and national GDP has been rising, so that's already a correction to what you stated. Also very important is that due to tax structure, trade policies that disregard local labor in favor of multinational corporate benefits and the resulting weakening of labor's power to negotiate, wealth has stagnated by concentrating at the top. The wealth transfer you speak of, doesn't really exist. What you're implying is that a burger flipper at some fast food franchise outlet should be making as much as a factory worker in Detroit should be making. Or that a person who dropped out of high school as much as an electrical engineer, clearly improbable. No, the market pays what you're worth and the differentiator of that is your degree.

Woke up at 6am to be in at 7am, then worked until 4:30pm to get home at 5:30pm and was too exhausted to go train, lift, or hangout with friends.
I’d come home, take a shower, eat dinner then go right to bed.
I now work in corporate America, working remotely, and it’s so damn awesome!
My team does not waste time on BS, I do my work and take my meetings from my home office, im able to do my chores in between meetings and work, do laundry, wash the dishes, tidy up etc.
I sometimes get to nap mid day and I get enough time to play with my cats.
When I’m done with work, my wife gets home and she comes home to many of the chores already done.
It’s so awesome!
Is this what happened to all the high school drop outs? They realize they made a mistake but are too laze to go back to school so they try to scam those who graduated? :)
