As of November of 2022 he has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering to the investigation headed by the IRS, FBI, and DOJ. Depending on sentencing he faces up to 20 years in prison so this story does have a happy ending at least

What your company produces is not the nessisarly the value of the company. Any money given away could be counted as charity and non taxable income and usually isn't reported with a companies total net worth.
The only way a giveaway like this could ever be legitimate is if Jeff Bezos wanted to speedrun bankruptcy.

If Jeff Bezos put ten thousand dollars in one thousand six hundred amazon packages a day, it would take him almost thirty five years to burn through his entire fortune, not taking into account continued amazon profits and likely growth.

That’s the crazy thing. He could have done this legitimately. Just say. “I’ll take 5 random order confirmation numbers and put $1k in that order. You just have to spend x amount on your order to apply”. He still would have made money off of that. Not nearly as much but it would have been legit.

I feel like this still violates some type of sweepstakes law in the US. That’s why most commercials would say “no purchase necessary” to win. But I’m not entirely sure.

Alternatively, maybe they realize that their math doesn’t work out but insofar as any customer doesn’t realize the same, it’s easy money coming from someone who probably lacks the wherewithal to get it back from him. It is extremely difficult to recoup losses from fraud of any kind. The sad reality is our legal system, via its tolerance of fraud, actually encourages it because it keep lawyers employed and earning high salaries.

I personally don't care if he did. I read his book and it gave me a new perspective. I changed some life habits and have since become financially secure. I now have multiple income streams and don't have to worry about my future. Without readig his book, I may have reached the same goals but not nearly as fast.

No dude, “large transactions” aren’t done in physical cash, they're done via wire transfers. Withdrawing physical cash is GUARANTEED to set of GIANT red flags w/the IRS & FBI. REAL businesses WANT to have a paper trail so they have documentation they can refer to in the event of a lawsuit, audit, etc.
To all the other commenters, please don't ever offer to settle a transaction in cash when speaking to a prospective business partner. It will only spook them & make you look like a crook and an idiot.

If you ever tried boosting posts on fb or ig, you will see tons of people liking your page from places like India, China and other similar countries, especially if you don't have success with your target audience.. This is how fb makes you think that paid ads are worth the money. Basically you just have to invest some money in advertising and you will get likes from Facebook.
