    I think your comment of using the inner display "to consume content" is telling of how you use the device. In such a case, the Pixel would be fine; however, if you want to use the inner display to get things done (i.e. "productivity"), the Z Fold's software is second to none and is why I stuck with my Fold 5 despite the launch of the P9 Fold.
    3-app split screen, being able to configure the orientation of 2-app split screen, being able to have up to 5 floating windows (on top of the 3-app split), and the app compatibility fixes Samsung brings for things like forcing aspect ratio, orientation, and content scaling, are game-changers compared to the relatively basic software of the Pixel, not to mention something like Samsung DeX.
    Mind you, Samsung also has (essentially) the full raft of Google AI software in addition to their own Galaxy AI, if you care about that stuff.

      You're absolutely right-Samsung devices really do have top-notch software. Personally, I could never fully embrace the three-app split on the Z Fold. On a 7.6" screen, two stacked apps just feel too small to me, and the floating app feature never really clicked either. For me, the OnePlus Open nails multitasking with its approach. Having the third app tucked neatly below and easily accessible with a quick tap is so much more convenient than trying to juggle two cramped apps or constantly resizing a floating one.
      That said, I do agree that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold isn’t the best when it comes to multitasking with more than two apps. If we’re just talking about two side-by-side apps, the Pixel’s larger screen actually makes it a strong contender. But if you need a third app, it’s not the foldable for you. I’m curious to see if Android 15 will bring any new multitasking features, though I’m not holding my breath.

      I got this case and I like it myself. It got bad reviews since and they're not wrong that the magnet doesn't line up with the battery coil to charge on a standard wireless charging stand or MagSafe charger. If you check out other cases they all have the same issue with charging but that's because Google put the coil lower than all other phones on this fold. Other than that I like the slim look and feel of the carbon case. It is a bit pricey now. It doubled in price since I ordered it. I would shop around a bit more. Z fold is lighter than the pixel 9 pro fold, but the size difference and thinness does make it feel lighter than it is. Google did amazing with this one. I think the saying "3rd time is the charm" will be true next year when the release the next one.

      I think your statement is right on. I totally agree. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold does feel pretty light unless you hold it for several minutes. Then you begin to feel the weight. But I believe that's the same with any phone. I'm pleased most is the one-handed use with it as a bar phone is just awesome. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate your support.👍

    Great review and i still have the OnePlus open with no issues at all. (Thank God). 2 things you did not mention 1} no stylus capability (its nice to have even if you don't use it) and slow charging speeds. Thats why i love my OnePlus open and i cant wait until the new one comes out in 2025

    • @GOTgoodoldtech-1964
      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964  Месяц назад +1

      You're absolutely right, I didn't mention those two things. The video was actually just a how I'm doing with it right now and why I choose to daily drive the Pixel 9 Pro fold. I'll do a full comparison video with the other foldables once my OnePlus Open comes back. The Pixel Fold actually does charge faster than the Z Fold does. And it holds battery life a lot longer. The OnePlus Open doesn't have wireless charging while the Pixel 9 Pro Fold does. That said, they put the charging coils lower than all major phones so I have yet to find a charger it just works on. The case is you buy to have MagSafe built into it. The magnets are in the wrong place as well. So much for wireless charging LOL. As far as the stylus goes, I kind of hinted to it in the video saying that the Samsung case was thicker because of the stylus, but who uses a stylus anyway. I rarely used it on my Z Fold 5 when I was using it as my daily driver. I do have another pen that works on the OnePlus Open. I haven't checked to see if it works on the pixel fold. I'll have to do that when I get home from work. I'll let you all know in a video if it does. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate your support. Keep rocking that OnePlus open.👍

      I can definitely understand your hesitation since it's a very thin phone. I'm not sure I agree with it not being sturdy though. It feels just as much as solid as any other foldable I have. Unless you're one that tends to try and fold them backwards like JerryRig, I don't think there's an issue. LOL. Thank you for tuning in to the channel. I appreciate your comment support. 👍

    I just tested the pixel fold 9 pro and while I like it , I noticed it was heavy and i prefer one ui w things like stylus support and I'm waiting for the z fold 6 special edition w the bigger front screen and hopefully corning glass

    • @GOTgoodoldtech-1964
      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964  Месяц назад

      The stylus is definitely a unique feature to the Z Folds. I can certainly understand why that would be a selling feature for those who enjoy the stylus. They kind of spoil it for me because the stylus doesn't work on the front screen, and of course the front screen's too narrow. The quick use of the stylus was one of the big selling points for the Note phones and now S20 Ultra series phones. You should be able to just pull it out, write a quick note on that cover screen, and be done. But with my Z Fold, it's really time consuming just to try to write a quick note. By the time I get the stylus out, open up the phone, get to the notes, at my age, I forgot what I was going to write down, LOL. I could be wrong, but from what I'm hearing, the special edition won't have the S Pen or the digitizer for it, so I'm afraid you may be quite disappointed with that one. Thanks for tuning in to the channel, and I appreciate your comments and views. Your support for the channel goes a long way.👍👍

    The device is one of the worst things Jerryrig has EVER tested. It has the durability of mashed potato and is about as fast. The Pixel 9 is a far more sensible option.

    • @GOTgoodoldtech-1964
      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964  Месяц назад +1

      I saw that it was crazy how he was able to just fold it back and forth in half. I can assure you I will never try that with mine. That said, it feels very secure to me and very fast. Knowing that JerryRig goes to the extreme doesn't bother me at all. There's not many of us that buy a phone and try to abuse them like that. I respect your opinion and you have the right to buy whatever phone you feel safest with. Thank you for watching and sharing your comment. I appreciate your support. 👍

    The only thing I like about Pixel phones are the cameras. Compared to Samsung they show truer shades of color much similar to iPhone. Other than that I literally hate everything else about Pixel phones. I’m still holding out for a foldable Apple phone. With iOS 18 releasing today it’ll be a nice refresh at no additional cost to me. Also I’m a regular viewer of Linus Tech Tips and he’s come under scrutiny by announcing he won’t be getting a pro version to upgrade from his Note 9. He will be going with a standard model as the differences from the “basic” models are not substantial enough to warrant the extra cost of a pro version. Which I have to agree with. A normal consumer doesn’t need a pro or a folding version for the daily tasks of using a phone. Which brings me to the question are you going to be reviewing any of the iPhone 16 models? I do hate that Apple left the desirable color options on the regular models too. The pro model colors just look bland.

    • @GOTgoodoldtech-1964
      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964  Месяц назад +2

      I agree with you on the cameras with the Pixels. They do hold a closer true color just like the iPhones. I do think that iOS 18 will have some refreshes however, it will not have the full AI features as of yet. Apple is still a few months behind on that, which is odd that it's not going to have promised features when released. I saw the Linus Tech Tips video and I also tend to agree with him. I may just get the iPhone 16 this year to review. If you're waiting for a foldable from iPhone, you've got until at least 2026 and it'll be a flip phone rather than an open large foldable. At least that's the deal they have with Samsung. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment and support.👍

      @@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 I updated to iOS 18 on my 13 pro max. My honest opinion is that it makes no difference from the last update. I have my phone and Icons set where I prefer. The biggest thing I did was deleted 3 widgets that were basically placeholders. Also the photo app layout just annoys me.

      @JoshuaBrown-is8fb That's so funny. All that uproar about iOS 18 and then you barely can notice any difference. I'm betting it makes the older phones run slower to try to push it to the new ones. I've yet to update my 15 Pro so I guess I have to do that and see what's new. I don't expect any AI yet because as they said in their keynote it won't be released yet.

      @@GOTgoodoldtech-1964 The ironic thing is my phone seemed to be faster than normal last night prior to the release of iOS 18. It stutters here and there. I normally turn my phone off and do a restart after any iOS update. Then I’ll wait about 30 minutes to and hour to turn it back on. Seemed to be working pretty adequate for the time being. Also I’m sure once app updates for iOS 18 start rolling out it’ll be more optimized. Once we get a few more patches it’ll be back to normal like usual. I’m not a power user either so your mileage may vary. The dark mode icons which I was most interested in looks so bad. Which may just be due to using a later model phone too.
