Have had the fold 9 for over a week. Came from a Pixel 6 pro. I would be a power user, with full work integration of Microsoft office, Outlook, one drive integration. Took a couple flights, lots of navigation, and travel apps. The large screen is bright and a god send for navigating email and MS Teams, and even sms. I clocked over 800 mbs in 5g uc and wifi, much better signal. Doesn't get hot like my old phone. In airplane mode playing movies at 4k res, barely touched the battery. Really awesome phone.
I agree, ive had it for 2 weeks now and the battery life is amazing. Really surprised me. Its the best battery life ive had on any Pixel to date excluding the other 9 phones.
Why do people keep bringing up the price as if it’s any higher than all the other foldable out there? All of them cost the same? You can get a regular pro phone for $1200 or a phone and tablet for $1700.
Because these guys aren't really using the phones. I just got a pixel 9 pro fold and 2 days into using it is clearly gets very hot on the right side which is something on one seems to be mentioning. Instead they regurgitate the same talking points.
They don't all cost the same, price matters. For example with the chipset...the Google P9PF costs $1800 and you get a Tensor G4 chip. For $1900 you can get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with the Z Fold 6. It's on sale currently but you can also get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip for $1300 with the OnePlus Open. There are other Chinese foldable phones out there that are cheaper than the Google P9PF and offer superior hardware in other aspects too, but they compromise in other areas such as software and carrier coverage if you're in the U.S.
@@rohitsaxena7213It doesn't even get very hot for me during heavy gaming and cools down within 30 seconds after closing the game. It stays cool under normal usage.
People that nitpick about the inner screen bezels needing to be thinner, are also people that never use the inner screen. Imagine having paper thin bezels, good luck holding that without constantly triggering a tap, or an unintended interaction because you have nowhere to hold it.
exactly! Pixel 9PF's bezels are good enough for me, I think its the best looking foldable phone to date, the display outside and inside are perfect size and the display is great
I'm completely converted to foldables. I have the OnePlus Open and the Z Fold 6 and now the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Love them! I was using a 15 Pro Max on 1 line and the Z Fold 6 on my work line. On Friday I gave my 15 Pro Max to my stepson and activated the 9 Pro Fold on my 1st line.
I travel a lot but also like to watch lots of video content. I haven't gotten one yet but to me it would be worth it. phone and tablet in one, and I like to carry least things with me as possible
Would love to know what you prefer the fold or the candy bar phones? Currently have the fold 9 in my 14 day trial period (already have a Samsung Fold5) but wondering whether I should go Pixel pro or Pixel Pro XL instead? P.s. not that fussed re: diff between cameras between models, loving the fold. Form factor, the camera is good enough for what I need, excellent battery and fun AI features. It's more the multi-tasking (as have Fold5 as previously mentioned and deep in the eco) only 2 apps at a time, some apps sometimes crash or you need to clear and reopen. I pre-ordered so got 512gb for 258gb price. Those offers are now over so would prob get 258gb if switched to candy bar style. Any thoughts/opinions welcome. Thanks
Why does nobody realise that the creases are a given regardless of how much they want them minimised? I mean, if you want no creases then the screen literally has to stretch to close which is just a no go. The screen is not elastic. The must be a crease where the screen is compressed at the hinge to allow for free movement of the folding design. In other words the screen must be cut slightly larger than the bezel and then creases in the middle to allow it to fold. People need to stop complaining about the crease. The crease is required. It’s basic.
Why should people stop complaining because it’s a given? Plus obviously some people make fools with less noticeable creases. It’s a review. It would be strange if no reviewer mentioned it.
This could have been a good phone, however there are two things I've noticed that let it down. The first is the battery, it's very poor for a flagship phone I'm not a very heavy user and at the end of the day I'm left with 5 percent battery. The second is the software with regards to the aspect ratio. Using certain apps it does not utilise the full screen. I hope the next generation of the Google fold will improve theses issues. 😊
So, personally I went with the 9pro fold this year over the z fold 6, mainly due to basically getting the phone for free through my carrier, coming from my zfold4 I can definitely say the 9pro fold was a large upgrade better in basically every area except not being able to have more than 2 windows open and lack of stylus support. I'd like to know where people are getting that it doesn't have good battery life from because I use mine with constant GPS and Bluetooth as well as gaming, videos and reading ebooks. My battery still ends up with usually somewhere around 30% by the end of the day. I also haven't had any heat issues or major malfunctions as of yet. As to whee my z fold 4 I have to use on power saving and use mostly the outter display to make it through the day obviously this is partially due to long term use but still even new I don't think it had as good as a battery as this one does. Not to mention that the ai features are just better than the competitions, sure you can get gemini on others but you're getting it free for a year and 2tb of cloud storage is massive.
@@jesuscervantesj82 to be clear I don't think there's anything wrong with the zfold 6. I just think Google is actively working towards a better user experience each year, and it feels like Samsung has gotten complacent giving everything the Apple treatment if you will.

As somebody who sells phone contracts for a living we see a huge amount of these devices come in broken. I would recommend taking out some form of insurance. I break even my normal phones constantly so insurance on a folding device would definitely be worth it
Why bother talking about the price if it's the same as the competition, this is a product for people that have money to spend... 100 dollars more or less is not going to be the decisive factor

Give it time. The problm with foldables is app makers have been having problems optimizing the aspect ratio cause there has been too many different Foldable aspect ratios. It seems that this "square" shape is becoming the standard (aside from the z fold who are stubborn af), so now that they have a standard aspect ratio to work with, it should be easier to update their apps for that.
It's strange that everyone on RUclips like the frontscreen because it is just like a normal phone and you don't have to open it to the larger screen. But why should then buy a fold phone? Just buy the normal pixel pro.
Why make a comment other then to let everyone know that your clueless and never have own a fold.🤦🏻♂️. Everyone that has own a foldable knows that their are times more than most where you don’t have the time to unfold a phone and have to resort to the outer screen which on the Samsung fold is extremely narrow and cramped
Does it? I am honestly asking because I am currently trying out both and haven’t convinced myself that is the case at all. Depends on the scenario I am shooting in. Sometimes better with the Fold 6, sometimes better on the Pixel Fold. Both very similar quality overall I think.
@andrewfischer3971 The Fold 6 had pixelated photos like crazy! Also, I can no longer send duplicate apps to app stores. And also Samsung hasn't been updating that phone properly enough. The Google Play Store software update was never done. It's still sitting at April. Or should I say April security update for the Google Play Store. It was just getting old real fast. The phone was a good phone to use. Another thing is I like a lot of the AI features that come in the Pixel phones like Call Screen which is amazing. Hangs up on everybody.
