I broke mine after a year got insurance but the warranty covered it they sent my back in July another one brand new in days then sent to broken one back they hold a deposit when you do that about five days. But got the new one in 3 days. Love it.

    I like the idea of a foldable but I think it’s a good idea to wait until software is more optimized. Not to mention the price. Have you had any issues with the pixel in software or hardware aspects? I’ve heard people on Reddit saying they’ve had issues with the inner screen touching when closed causing spots/ bubbles on the inner screen? Also what’s the durability like with extreme temperature fluctuations? I live in the Midwest and it’s either ridiculously hot/ humid or freezing cold. Would the aspect of going in and out of those conditions cause screen damage for such a fragile device? I can upgrade next year so might just hold out for the pixel fold 3.

    • @GOTgoodoldtech-1964
      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964 6 часов назад

      Thank you for all your questions. I believe the software is optimized really well. The price is only going up, but if you pick one up that's 6 months out or longer you can save a few hundred. I haven't had any issues with the Pixel so I'm liking it a lot. I keep mine in a case so I don't feel any heat and I haven't received any heat warnings. I think the Pixel 9 Pro Fold feels very solid like the Z Fold 6. It's heavier but feels solid. I agree the 3rd version will be even better. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! 👍

    I'm loving the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. I barely use the Z Fold 6 anymore despite it's more flexible multitasking features. I find that I don't really use more than 2 apps at a time on phones because they are smaller than tablets. Now when it comes to tablets - nothing beats the Samsung Galaxy S9 Ultra for me. Using 3 or more apps makes much more sense on there. Google did a great job this year and made a big leap from their original fold.

    So with the first one, you went through all state, and they didn't charge you a deductible and just gave you a refund for the price of the phone? The second one you didn't purchase insurance on and decided to use the one plus warranty service or you had purchased that service? Were there deductibles with that. I only had one experience with having to return a phone, and it was a Samsung Note. Ultra, and it was a nightmare, and there was a big deductible. I finally got them to cut a check for me. Because the replacement they sent me was also damaged. But it left a very bitter taste in my mouth. And so I'm wondering if you were to advise somebody with a OnePlus with regard to insurance, what would you recommend? I hope I'm clear on that.I feel like I said a lot😂

    • @GOTgoodoldtech-1964
      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964 13 часов назад

      Your questions were actually very clear-thank you for the opportunity to clarify. For the first phone, I purchased it on eBay with insurance included. Filing the claim was straightforward; there was no deductible, and once I sent the phone in, they simply sent me the money. With that, I went ahead and bought a second phone, also from eBay. This one didn’t come with insurance, so I decided to go with Allstate since it had worked so well the first time. When the second phone cracked, I thought I'd try out the manufacturer’s service to see how it compared. In both cases, I didn’t have to pay a deductible, nor was I asked for one. The experience was good overall, though a bit lengthy. In the end, I was thrilled to receive a brand-new, boxed OnePlus Open. Would I recommend this route? I think so. Any service will have some challenges, especially if you need to mail in your device, like I do. If you’re near a service center, it could be a different story, and you might be able to walk in for repairs, as you can with some Samsung locations. I hope this clears things up! Thanks again for being part of the community.👍

    • @dorothy135
      @dorothy135 12 часов назад

      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964 thank you, that was very helpful. My experience with that one phone, a Samsung note 20 ultra, that I actually paid by the month at AT&T (which I almost never do I always have unlocked) was because I had to deal with asurion and the deductible was really high and the customer service was abysmal. And I also had the note in mystic bronze, which I loved, and they only had black refurb. I was returning it because I got screen burning and ironically, the second phone they sent me as a replacement, had screen issues as well. That's why I clamored for a check. And I then took that check, and I went to best buy and I bought myself a mystic bronze note. I would have to say all things considered that was my favorite phone. In light of the upcoming AI and the fact that I was gonna no longer receive updates etc. I decided to upgrade it, thinking let me trade it in before the trade in value goes down too much, and I got an s twenty three ultra. It turns out the trade in value did not change all that much. The following years, so that was just a miscalculation on that. I don't know why but I never bonded with that phone. So I upgraded it for an s twenty four ultra. I like that phone, and that's what I currently have. But I have an itch to try a fold. I wish the Samsung Fold 6 was good for me. Because I could get it with the trade in for like four hundred and seventy dollars. But so far, the oneplus open and the new pixel folds are so much nicer for me. The stylus being an exception and like you said, oneplus has one that I could work with. I was very impressed with the pixel. Feel in hand was really nice. So thank you again for your informative videos and your informative responses about the insurance. Those insurance deductibles really can be quite substantial, and it's very upsetting to take a phone that is otherwise in pristine condition, send it in and get a refurbished phone back.

    Mr. G.O.T., as always a very informative and "to the point" review, none of this "blah blah blah". I've had my OnePlus open for a year now, no issues at all (thank god). I love the fast charging (67 watts) on the OnePlus open and that beats the measly 25 w on the pixel fold 2. Waiting to see the OnePlus open 2 and how they're going to improve it. (Hopefully they have a stylus available for it!) It will be interesting to see if you stick with your new pixel fold or if you go back to the OnePlus open. Have a great weekend 😁

      Thank you for your kind words. I just don't have time for "blah blah blah". 😂 I don't have an issue with charging because all the devices last a full day for me and charge fully while I sleep. What does bother me is the wireless coils on the Pixel are too low and most of the chargers won't charge it and I have to be careful of the placement or it won't charge. Most of the time I just plug it in next to the OnePlus. I'm looking forward the Open 2 as well. The message was done on the OnePlus open. Secondly, the OnePlus open is an awesome phone and apparently they have a stylist you can purchase for it but I find myself not using a stylus much even with the z-fold six. I am looking forward to seeing the OnePlus Open Second edition to see if they do make some improvements especially on the stability of the screen. I'm pleased I was able to help but I'm also disappointed that you're not able to get the opportunity to see how well done the OnePlus open actually is other than that one "Minor" defect. 😂 Thank you for coming back and sharing once more I appreciate your support. 👍

      Those are excellent questions that everyone should ask themselves, which is why I review and produce these videos. The OnePlus One is a great phone and has many features and reasons to purchase over the others. I'll cover that in detail in another video. That said, your reasoning is very valid. As far as the Samsung Galaxy Watch, I've used it with every foldable and it works great. You just download the Samsung compatibility app and everything works from syncing notifications to the Samsung Health app. I haven't had any issues. I like the Samsung Watch better than any of the others that I've tried. I'm very pleased that Samsung, unlike Apple, makes their watch compatible with any Android. I will admit, I wish a lot of the Samsung features were just an Android feature and could be found on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, the compromise of that small screen on that Z Fold device is just unbearable for me. The phone is great, but customer service was sucks. One Plus originally said it would take nine days to get fixed and return back to me after I agreed to pay 500. However, they never followed through, nor did I give the 500.

      I'm certainly glad you didn't have to shell out $500. One thing we have to keep in mind is that in the end OnePlus did deliver. Although we did have to continue to badger them to get it done. At least they never once denied me service or said I was out of luck. I actually purchased Allstate insurance on the second OnePlus Open and because Allstate doesn't require any information on the device. When you purchase the insurance, you can use it on any single instance with any phone. So now I'm covered as far as insurance goes with this new OnePlus Open or even my Pixel 9 Pro Fold if I need it. What I haven't checked into is if this new OnePlus Open has the full one year warranty with it? I guess I need to find out on that one. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience. Thanks for sharing this. I knew I wasn't crazy! I have both the Z Fold 6 and the Pixel 9 pro fold. The Pixel seems to charge faster than Google advertised. This confirms my speculations. Nice! Better to under promise than over promise. 😃 Both phones get me through the day so that's great.

      No, you're not crazy at all. It's definitely performing a whole lot better than what the specs would lead us to believe. Check out some of my other test videos and it seems to be the same scenario across the board. I don't know how Pixel is doing it, but it could be similar to what Apple does with everything being their own hardware optimized on the devices allowing them to perform better than you would expect. I am pleasantly surprised on almost every test I do. Thank you for tuning in to the channel and leaving your comments. I do appreciate your support!👍

For example does it warm up? does it slow down or give error when in extensive use. have the Pixel 7 pro and that's the issue i have is performance with that and I travel a lot for work. so Music GPS on Android auto maybe running youtube as well lol

      I actually don't have any vehicles to use Android Auto with, that is to say, I don't have any compatible Android Auto vehicles. But I have used it in all other scenarios you listed there, in my car on a tablet mount. I have not had any issues with it overheating in any combination of use. My Pixel 9 Pro does seem to run cooler than my Pixel 8 Pro did as well, so I think the cooling chambers along with the new processor is helping the 9 series quite a bit. Oh yeah, and I have yet to get an overheating warning during 4K video, which is something that happened all the time even on the Pixel 8 Pro. I hope this helps. This video compares the charging speeds of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Samsung Z Fold 6, both with and without cases, using various wireless and wired chargers. Here are the key findings: * Wireless Charging: The Pixel 9 Pro Fold charged at a slower rate than the Samsung Z Fold 6 on wireless chargers, even though it has a larger battery. This contradicts the specs, which state that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold should charge at a faster rate. * Wired Charging: The Pixel 9 Pro Fold charged at a faster rate than the Samsung Z Fold 6 when using a wired charger. This is consistent with the specs. * Cases: The charging speeds of both phones were not affected by the presence of a case. * Pixel 9 Pro vs. S24: The Pixel 9 Pro charged at a faster rate than the Samsung S24 on both wireless and wired chargers. The video also highlights the importance of real-world testing, as the specs do not always tell the whole story. The video concludes with a call to action, asking viewers to check out the links in the description to purchase the products on Amazon and to like and subscribe to the channel for more interesting videos.

      Interesting, this looks like an AI summary of the video. It is a bit inaccurate with the first bullet statement. The Pixel charges around the same or a bit slower on an older wireless charger, this is true. It's false that the Pixel should charge faster according to specs. The Pixel is rated at 7.5 mAh and the Samsung is rated at 15 mAh wireless charging. So the Samsung is rated faster. On a modern wireless charger the Pixel was faster which was contradictory to specs.

    I got my Pixel 9 Pro Fold recently, i noticed the first few dyas the battery was abysmal, but after the few days were done, i found my pixel is lasting 24-36 hours without charge. Why i went pixel 9 Pro Fold - Samsung experience for me seems more convoluted in many aspects, not to mention the bloatware i dont need at all, i really miss old Samsung where they cared about a clean UI experience, My phone is a phone, not a gaming device for me, productivity isnt about Games its about real world experience of the average users, most people dont need floating screens (Yes i have that enabled from Dev Settings), but the average person doesnt need 4 apps on one screen as it becomes harder to read or do anything. If you want productivity in that kind of way a Tablet or a PC would be more useful in these cases. Most users dont have the fold for opening it constantly, i find on average i only open it when sitting down, which is 10% of my daily experience. the 90% is just the front screen use only. I find my experience on a Pixel device smoother over Samsung devices and more consistent and cohesive. I like the fact the wider screen is easier to use as it reminds me of holding my normal slab phone.

Software: Samsung's software is more polished and intuitive. One-handed use: The Z Fold 6 is easier to manage with one hand. Pixel 9 pro giant bezels are annoying. Gaming: The Pixel 9 Pro Fold struggled to run games smoothly for me. Customization: I missed being able to customize the cover and inner screens separately, which you can do on the Z Fold 6. To be honest, I’m already stretched with my budget since I have to buy all these devices out of pocket. The Honor V3 is one of those outlier devices that just isn’t as popular in the US, so it wouldn’t bring in as many views as some of the other ones do. It took a while for the OnePlus Open to gain enough attention to really spark interest, but the good news is that it's starting to pave the way for other manufacturers. So, it’s only a matter of time before we see more global devices catching on. In my next video, I’ll be diving into why buying devices outside of the US can be a bit risky. I know I haven’t covered everything here, but hopefully, this gives you a clearer picture of why the interest just isn't there yet. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate your support! 👍
