    I painted my 1984 Monte Carlo with Western Highglo single stage. The paint was 79.00 for a gallon of paint, a quart of reducer, and 8 oz of hardener

    Tamco used to in fact do their single stages based on one of their clears you got to pick which clear to use as the basis for your single stage.

    In crap hole southeast Michigan this is all you need on any car here in the cold mouths period. We deal with rocks,salt,heavy traffic, gravel haulers and road construction constantly.
    This is better than factory paint.

    Just watched Showmod and you Lighting up the tire, dam that motor sings, Get the bugs worked out and it's gonna rip. You better nut and bolt it. I have a feeling you are gonna be surprised when it hooks hang the frick on Courtney you built a Rocket. Great Job on the Blow and Go it's the same thing I do on off-road cars and roundy round cars that get crashed weekly.

    Thanks for keeping it relatable! So i bought some 1ktoday and guy said to mix it 8-2 with reducer? For bed of my street strip truck, do i need to get a hardner also? Nothing will b in bed of truck

      1k mines one part so mixing it with something makes it a 2k from what I’ve always heard. Unless they call it 1k bc there’s no hardener. You need to get the products data sheet and follow what ever directions it gives

    Definetely keeping your shop in mind when it comes to my 86 fox. Its is the same light regetta blue as you did a few years ago. Looking for around a 5k paint job nothing crazy. I still have a long ways to go though.

      Honestly if you’re going to add clear over single stage you should just do base coat clear coat

      On these jobs nothing at all. If it bothered you you could just spray paint it black

      Unfortunately I don’t pay attention to numbers. I don’t even use a gauge that I can read it. I go off sound alone and how the paints laying out. The product your spraying will have a recommendation on psi in their tech data sheet though

      Possibly but I’ve never done it with such cheap paint. If you’re going to put all the time and work into wet sanding and buffing paint then I’d never recommend doing this and instead I’d do a base coat clear coat job as it’ll turn out better and easier to cut / buff.
      The point of these paint jobs is cheap fast and done.

    I'm getting ready to do this to my 96 dodge ram truck and I've prepped it a lot more then you. I've sanded all the way up to 400 grit the body is not perfect and I'm going back with black witch is the original color. I just want it one solid color not 14 shades of black. 😂 I'm hoping it turns out as good as that car because I know you will see every flaw on it but from 30 + feet away it will be awesome 😁
    And I want to thank you for the tips witch gives me the courage to try it myself.

    good job, not bad for what it is but if it happens to bother you then you can still do paint correction on single stage. ive done it many times before. because certain colors really bother me when they have orange peel and that dusk light hits it lol

    rustoleum gloss tractor paint is about $50 a GALLON. One coat. Use foam hand paint brush (no masking). Paint 5 or 6 cars for that $400, instead of just one.

      No reducer. I just used paint and hardener. Each product will be different though

      @zcam1969 no it requires no reducer. Not all paint needs reducer. Some is thin enough right from manufacture. This stuffs in the thicker side though

      Talk to your local paint supplier and ask them about their cheapest single stage trailer / equipment paint. That’s all you need. This is from my local supplier NCS
