I always make this when I'm cooking for a party. One tip: instead of honey I add whatever seasonal fruit is available, as the veggies sweat, the juice from the fruit usually add the sweet element to balance out the flavors. I never understood the concept of fruit in a salad until I tasted it myself. The sweetness of the fruit just adds more flavor and crunch. So pears, watermelon, apples, go great with these salads.
Oh! A few years ago, I actually discovered the 'secret ingredient' in delicious dressing is fruit! Chopped grapes, pineapple, raspberries and blueberries give really great flavour. Every time I made my fruit dressing, people commented on it and was asked what made the dressing taste so good. Add the crushed fruit to dressing, let it sit for a couple of hours to infuse the flavour and then pour it over the salad.
I also added fruit Pam thank you👍🏻.. and to make it as a just one dish for dinner .. added cashews nuts , artichoke heart jar, and On the side… cottage cheese!..I used also balsamic vinagre .. it was a good salad!.. thanks again Pamela😊👏🏻🌸🙏🏻
@@adrianharris9654 Definitely try pineapple! :) But if possible, use fresh pineapple and not pineapple juice because it really makes a difference. I've tried both and the freshly crushed pineapple tasted so much better than canned or juice.
Saw this a couple of days ago and got all the ingredients! My daughter made this today, we thought it was wonderful and so fresh! Our dog went nuts trying to get to the bowl, she thought it was for her (she's a good girl and eats her veggies, though not the tomato or onions). What a flavor party for the nose, taste buds and mouth!!! WOW!!
Readily available ingredients. Easy preparation. Yummy too. Thanks for sharing. I added 1 teaspoon each of Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and before serving topped it with finely chopped cilantro.
I made this tonight and everyone loved it. I used pinto beans instead of chickpeas, red wine vinegar instead of white, and I added a can of corn and sliced avocado. Will be making it again. Thank you for posting!
I’m indian we use alot of spice to dress like more pepper chat masala, but i hated it that way it almost gives spice up taste to the salad and today i tried this for the first time .. trust me i fell in love with this recipe and the taste it brings is sooo yummmm 🤤 i’m definitely gonna try out more from your channel. Thank you 🙏
Chickpeas according to Ayurveda is hard to digest. So the purpose of those spices is to help with digestion and assimilation of nutrients. It is not recommended to overuse the spices though.
I modified to kidney beans & artichoke hearts (because did not have garbanzos & the olives on hand). Plus I threw in some chopped white mushrooms & sprinkled a few sunflower seeds, just because I had some right there. I tried it with half crumbled Feta / half crumbled goat cheese. Lastly, I didn't have white or red wine vinegar (lagging...lol), so just used balsamic. Every one enjoyed it. My wife only said "basil is a little too strong". Glad I subscribed to this channel. Thanks.
I have been making this at least once a week. I use vegan feta by Follow Your Heart and omit red onions and bell pepper. I add one or two more T. of honey. Delicious!
This recipe is a hit in our house! My husband doesn't like salads too much and now I can get him to eat his fruit and veg! Thank you so much for sharing. The mint is a very nice touch!
I make a similar recipe and swap chick peas for a can of cannelini beans, omit the fresh herbs. For the dressing I add minced garlic using a Microplane and the garlic makes the dressing delicious! 🥗
Tried this today. I skipped feta cheese because I didn't have it. But overall it was nice and filling. Definitely will be remaking it. Thanks for the recipe!
I'm making a variation of this for a neighborhood pot luck tonight. I have fresh dill and parsley on hand, a stalk or two of celery I need to use up, so will add that- with the leaves minced. I would add the feta just before serving if there will be leftovers. I believe the feta would "melt" into the dressing and lose its crumbly texture.
This is the best. I add avocado, some cilantro and I started using apple cider vinegar for an extra probiotic boost and omg. Amazing. And so healthy! I also sauté my tomatoes and chickpeas :)
I made this today and it was so delicious! I only used 1 can of chickpeas since it’s only my husband and I. I absolutely loved the dressing it perfectly compliments the veggies and olives. This is going to be a summer staple for sure.
I made this tonight and it was delish! I ran out of bleu cheese but it was still good! The mint and parsley 🌿 combo added a nice flavour! Next time I will definitely get some bleu cheese.
I'm on the second day straight of eating this salad. I'll probably eat it tomorrow as well. It's simple, inexpensive and nutritious. The vinagrette is GOD LIKE. I hate cucumbers, but they fit so well with everything else. Congratuations. Subscribed.
As an Indian. I was never introduced to tasty salads🥗 I got married to a Russian man and he loves to eat salad. It's been 4 months since marriage and I always fed him indian savouries but this time I thought to surprise him and came across this recipe. I made the same way she taught but we do not eat onions so I skipped it. It still tasted scrumptious. 😍 Thanks for sharing and making my married life happier. 😅😅 I will be serving this tonight also.
This looks delicious and easy to make. I will try it the next time my friend comes for dinner. I don't like honey, so I will add some fruit. When my daughter comes to dinner I can easily make it vegan, just leave out the feta, and maybe add cashews and avocado. Thanks so much!
Thanks, I am adding this to my next week's menu. I have everything except for the fresh herbs, so I will use dried (won't be as good, but it will work). I will enjoy this recipe because I like everything in this salad, and it is quick and easy! 🤗
This was an amazing salad! I was missing the herbs but included avocado and used malt vinegar instead and I couldn't stop eating it! What's more my wife and daughter loved it and I thought I made enough to last a second side or main salad but how wrong I was! Win definitely be making this again in a few days!!
Thank you so much I just tried the recipe and I impress myself thank you so much I appreciate it please share more easy recipes I really feel like a professional
Made this a few days ago & it was very good. I Don’t recommend using basil but Cilantro in the salad though. I used the English cucumber as the skin is a lot thinner & you don’t have to peel it
the liquid from the garbanzo (chickpeas) beans can be whipped and used as a cream alternative..aguafaba! Aquafaba is the viscous water in which legume seeds such as chickpeas have been cooked. Due to its ability to mimic functional properties of egg whites in cooking, aquafaba can be used as a direct replacement for them in some cases, including meringues and marshmallows. It is especially suitable for use by people who avoid eggs, such as vegans.
I made this yesterday for 1st night of Pesach (Passover), omitting the feta cheese as that would be mixing a milk product with a meat product at the same meal. It went very well with the grilled lamb and matzo. (Many northern European Jews do not eat lamb and will not eat chickpeas during the 8 days of Pesach. Mediterranean Jews eat lamb and have no problem eating chickpeas or rice during Pesach.)

I can’t find any honey I like the taste of always use fruit also

This is soooooooooooooo good! I even used this as a wrap filling along with some hummus as a topping, some red pepper flakes, and total deliciousness!
Girl.. I tried this but instead of hummus I added Trader Joe's garlic spread-dip, it was fucking bomb!!!
Ooooh, I must try that, thank you for that.
Great idea!
I made this salad and added a chopped apple and crumbled blue cheese, delicious!

This is A+ recipe. I added a diced avacado. Perfecto!!
Avocado*.

👏amazing
Good idea. I might add grated carrot
