- TLC's Sister Wives cast member Kody Brown holds himself out to be a well-to-do Polygamist. The truth is he is a man whose humble beginnings have turned him into a tyrant to the people who started out with him. Kody has forgotten that he is not the only person responsible for his success. Meri, Janelle, and Christine have been there since the beginning. Unfortunately, their contributions have been forgotten. The only person Kody thinks supports him is his new wife Robyn, and if things go wrong he may find out the hard way: no matter how much you love money, money can't love you back.
Kody is the type of person my mother would say "I'd be rich if I bought him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth'.

Unpopular opinion I say cancel the show. Give Christine and Jenelle a spin off. Kody‘s behavior has grown increasingly abusive. It is honestly starting to give me a cult like vibes. Of course Robin can give kody all the attention he wants. Robin does not have a job to worry about, and or go to. Each and everyone of us could be more attentive if we had a nanny and no job needing our attention.
Not unpopular at all. I am feeling increasingly uncomfortable with my views putting pennies in his pockets

That is what I have said. It is time to get Kody and Robyn the manipulators off TV. I would love to see Christine and Janelle starting their lives over.

@@megnakamura7652 yes from the beginning of the show, she was working outside of the home. Christine had a night job. Also watched all the kids during the day.
What's sick is that Robin from day one has never been on struggle bus nor had to help support even herself. Yet, Kody is running a game on the other women treating them as people of no value but taking TLC checks and monies from their working to give he and Robin their best life. His advantage is the cult they're in has Janelle & Meri fearful of losing their celestial kingdom if they leave and Kody and Robin are using it to manipulate them. So glad Christine woke up and smelled the coffee after 30 years. Better later than never.
Think it helped that Christine's mother and aunt left and she had that window and surrport the outside. Meri's mother told her to hold on and stick it out seeing How Kody was treating her daughter but see basically told Meri to suck it up and hang on.
Thank goodness Janelle left him too. Really hoping they follow through with the spin off that we’re hearing rumors of.
That’s a brilliant point on why he detests Janelle’s RV!! Robyn also spent her lean years in a trailer, too. You have brought more clarity to this mess then I have spent twelve years trying to figure out.
His first three wives kept kody in check,made opeortenites for him to see all the children,Robin made excuses for him to only be around hers.she came into the family pushing her own agenda,not trying to blend in with the family.
My husband didn't have a job when we got married. We lived in a camper for three years with three kids. We renovated a house by scrimping and saving whatever we could. Now we have multiple properties and I'm starting my own business. All of our struggles paid off and we saw that we could always find a way to go forward.

I've noticed with Robyn, that the longer it's just her and Kody, the more her faces is in a perpetual frown. She became Kody's favorite because she was young, she was new, and she catered to his every need. It's very easy to stop everything you're doing and concentrate on one person, whenever that one person isn't around that much, but when they are there every day....I'd lose my mind if I had to try and keep up that kind of thing. Great channel, great commentary!

Robin has lived a life of leisure. The first 3 put in the work including living together in a trailer. Christine took care of everyone’s children and held down a night job. Cody wouldn’t even come to tuck in their children. Aspen did at 10. It’s infuriating to comprehend
I agree! I said the same thing. When you only have to be "perfect" once or twice a week and the other wives were buffers for real life. Now she has him 100% of the time, she's like don't you have somewhere to go or something to do?!? She even said why doesn't he sleep on Christine's couch. 😂
That's why Robyn got the amazing wedding and honeymoon. Kody wanted to floss for his dream girl. He wasn't thinking of fairness. He was thinking, had I met Robyn earlier, I may not have chosen polygamy. I mean, the chick has a nanny. Christine watched 12 kids alone. Quiet as kept, Janelle used to manage the family finances when they were broke. Now he gets snooty when she's involved.

Can you imagine if Kody made Robyn move into the Lehi house (they remodel her a space) and has to watch the kid's so Christine can work? Was that on her vision board? Would Kody have been "the one" if there wasn't a show paying a lot of $$ to each of them? Because by the time Robyn came in they had a documentary already and the show was already starting production.Christine even pitched the show that has givin Robyn her lush life. She wanted to be an actress and now she is. I'm sure Robyn love's Kody on some level but I don't think she would've stuck thru all the trying time's like the other 3 did.

With christine kody said he was attracted to her bloodlines. She is polygamy royalty. Her grandfather was the leader of the aub and on her maternal side the lebarons. He flat out told christine he wasn't attracted to her but to her family. Thank you i enjoy your content
Robyn did the same thing because she married a Jessop. Ironically, her ex didn't want anything to do with polygamy.
Kodiewodie is mad because he no longer has claim to any of her inheritance. He has been waiting for those assets, cash and power. It is all gone for him now.

Kody married Christine because of her name who her family was. When he talked about how her family is like royalty to their faith (her grandfather was a leader in their faith) you can tell that’s what made him even marry her and nothing else. Then of course she ended up being the “basement wife” who ended up having to take care of everything to do with all the children and that helped their relationship when she was willing to always say yes to Kody whatever you need. If she wouldn’t of been so agreeable all them years they would of fell apart long ago. That tells you everything you need to know about Kody.
That inheritance Christine will receive is now out if his grasp! That's why he us so angry!
I agree! It was like that with my ex. As long as I did what I was told, said yes to everything, didn't argue, catered to him, he was fine keeping me around (while he had a side hustle going on with some other woman). When I stopped putting in 200%, it became obvious to me something was up even though he denied it. My health was suffering badly and I just couldn't do it anymore, so when I quit doing all the things, he became extremely mentally abusive and angry. I ended up attempting suicide at the end. Even then he wanted to be in control of everything. Wanted me committed, wanted me to go stay with my mom, wanted me to just leave I am sure. My psychiatrist told me not to leave. He said make boundries and stick with them. I did the best I could when I got home and eventually I did leave and go see my mom. It was just time and I didn't care at that point. Thats when I found out there wasn't any money. He'd pulled all the savings - I was suppose to get half for my eventual trip to find somewhere to live. He had to fork over a credit card to pay for stuff. Anyway, the day I left was such a relief. I felt liberated, free, and it was wonderful. Can't say the last 14 years was perfect, but I never looked back.
Kody was in such a hurry to move to Arizona. When they purchased the land and never built their homes, I knew right then and there Kody had ulterior motives. You just confirmed it. He and Robyn deserve each other.
This is a great observation. And I think Christine was at one point taking care of upwards of 10 young children (in a pretty small home) - I can't even imagine given 2 would easily run me ragged.

When we married my husband and I had nothing. We worked our way through school and his graduate school, a real struggle with a child to care for. Restored old houses while we lived in them. Pulling in the same harness was everything and brought us true happiness as a couple for 40 years.
Same here. My marriage was tolerable during the hardest times, we really struggled. I was so busy trying to stay afloat and watch the kids and work when I could - ended up being more costly to work than to stay home). We worked together then. Then things started going better, he made more money, kids were older, I could work and bring in some money. What I didn't know then was he was living a double life. He worked out of town a lot, out of the country even. I trusted him for so many years. Kids grew up and moved on. I was still 100% invested in our marriage. He wasn't. After nearly 30 years we were divorced. Somehow I got blamed. Still haven't figured that one out. I haven't spoken to my oldest daughter since 2005, my youngest daughter since 2017. My son and his family still have a relationship with me. All I ever wanted was someone to grow old with, to love and be with. I don't have that dream anymore. But I cherish every relationship I know of that has. It proves it's possible. It proves it can be done and done well. I've been single for 14 years now and I have come to cherish that also. I have proven I can support myself and love life even without a man in my life.

Bingo! Robyn only knows TLC Kody. She never experienced the 20 year Struggle Kody or how the other wives had to live during those years. Robyn is the trophy wife. Trophy wives rarely stay. I don't see Robyn ever staying with Kody if/when Struggle Kody returns. Robyn cares about keeping the TLC money. If the TLC money dries up she will look elsewhere for the security. For Robyn, money = security.

Do I believe that Robyn is “the one”, absolutely not, here’s why; what Kody did to his others wives is nothing new, the fundamental differences is they’re Mormon and his actions was viewed on an international platform. Kody has done what millions of men do when they become wealthy, they abuse and abandon the Partner that has stuck by them in difficult times. Fear not, here’s the kicker, he will ‘reap what he sow’…the way he treats Janelle, Christine and‘Meri’ is disgusting, they helped build that sister-wives empire.. and just like a Jezebel, Robyn has invaded, living off ‘the fruit of their labor. My friends, she will also reap what she sow…the lies, pure manipulation, she’s cruel and lack empathy. Let’s address the ‘Robyn being the one’, do I believe that Kody loves Robyn? Absolutely not, she’s a co-conspirator in the abuse of the other women…she’s Kody’s ally, his enabler against the other women, but it will backfire. In my opinion, Robyn will always be the mistress, sidepiece, because she slithered her way to legal partner. Does she care about the sister-wives, only in theory, because it’s financially beneficial, just like you mentioned. I was raised in the mainstream Mormon Church, Kody is the typical Mormon man, who believes he's King, Robyn also has that mentality, she has raised in a polygamy home a break off of Joseph Smith's teachings, men in the Mormon Believe that the woman (slave) is to make their life easy the woman is not respected, they are to be OBEDIENT. Maintain the home, tend to the children, then make sure that you are pampering them
I go to the lds church and the women are respected.
Robyn doesn't realize that "struggle Kody" is who he is with his other wives today.
My family of 6, 4 kids under 10 yrs old children lived in a tent one year when we moved across the country. We children did not even notice. My mom was so devoted to us and my father, and my he was right there with us drilling in the field. What Incredibly wonderful memories ❤️

Because I did not give the time & attention he wants to break up. I love him and I Truly did try to give him attention. But I am also a working mom. And reality is working moms r Stretched thin.

In reality Robin owns the majority of the Family's wealth. She owns 60%of C.P. and the million dollar home.
Koy's big mistake was to bring to us the picture of a family going by the rules of the AUB. But we don't have the same beliefs, so we judge him by the standards of the normal world. AUb probably thinks Kody is doing great.

Brother you speak truth! The best thing that Kody Brown could do for himself and his family is to listen to you! He has allowed prosperity to derail him! He is not the man he used to be. He’s never been “a catch” and has always been a showboat, but I think there was some decency under all his big mouth show off ways. I don’t think that he was intentionally cruel before he got a tv show and Robyn. Now he seems to have lost any redeeming qualities that he once had. He and Robyn are both so upset bc they see their luxurious life-style being threatened. Neither of them actually work, whereas Mary, Janelle, and Christine all bring in a nice chunk of change in addition to the TLC money. If they stopped pooling “family money” and Mary and Janelle wised up, Kody and Robyn would be in a world of hurt. They might not find each other so lovable if they had to get up and punch a time clock, or live within their means. What if they “gasp”! had to go back on welfare? Both of them need to really suck up to Meri and Janelle to keep the gravy train coming. I see what a precarious position they are in, so surely they do!

When they lived in the trailor, there were no kids, if I'm remembering correctly. He had married all three before Logan was born. You'd think that would have bonded them, but clearly it did the opposite. These people really went into this mess with no plan.
Kody already losted Meai, Jennell, and Christine. Robin is still with Kody, his other wife's give Kody and Robin alot of money to put down on that expensive house, because Robin couldn't buy it . Kody only saw these women as cash and breeding cows money to make and put in his pocket.. Not saying these beautiful women are cows, its just a saying. He's the type of man that knew this all the time. If they work, wow he gets 4 pay checks. And he gets to poke fun at all three women. He says he don't love them, so you see he knew from the start, they were just money makers. He also feels the more kids he has the more it makes him a man. I have a friend that way. Not that he wants to support them just have them and make him self king. These women have to wise up and leave on their own, only they can see what he's doing AND BELIEVE IN WHAT IS BEING DONE TO THEM.
