Morning Yoga Workout Flow | Yoga With Tim | Day 20

  • A strong and dynamic yoga practice.
"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving..." MLK
When we practice yoga, we should aim to restore movement of any area of the body that has lost its full range of motion.
If a certain pose irritates a part of the body, we should modify the pose so that it doesn't cause pain, and say to ourselves, "It's not that I'll never be able to do this, but just maybe not today".
And don't give up or lose faith if it doesn't come in a day or a week, or a month.
But keep moving, and you'll be amazed at how resilient the body can be.
    For example
Some have expressed that a deep squat is too much, or the kneeling position bothers knees etc...
In the method of yoga I studied, we would suggest using a prop to elevate the body into a position that feels more comfortable, and over time, gradually, week by week, slowly lowering the prop and moving toward the full pose.

I loved this flow though I wish we still did the shavasana together at the end. I like the feeling that we're ending each day together rather than having to click another link to replay another video. It feels more special that way like we're all in this together, but that's just me.

I've always been taught that yoga is supposed to be "active body, quiet mind" but it's a tough fine line between self-study and inner critic, so I was happy for all the preaching (and for a practice that could be done with comfy socks, optional)! Thanks, Ray

Thank you Tim for another awesome class. Yes, it was definitely challenging in some part but it is all go. It is the practice & discipline that bring us to a different level. Poses we do all the time get stale & boring but a practice that challenges us ultimately brings us all into a power we feel that we can. Empowering. Much blessings as you continue to guide us.❤

Thanks, Tim! This was a great practice. That long plank at the beginning became a challenge before it ended. I often can't hold the poses as long as you do. I love the MLK quote. His birthday was Sunday so it's nice you mentioned him.. Maybe that's why you think you sound preachy today. Like Edward, in the comment below, I am practicing these poses at 70 so I will still be able to do them when I am 80. Namaste.
