A well-balanced session once again. I liked your comment about not comparing yourself to others during class - it is exactly what I learned this time. While last year I compared my poses to others, I focus in just myself this Year...If I need a prop, fine! If I cannot bend like you or others, fine! It is not a competition! Thanks, Tim - and loved to see Ollie again 🫶🏻🙏🏻
I feel like this was one of the most important practices yet. Trying to teach us to step outside of our thoughts which thank you Tim, sometimes can be negative and admit that. It’s crucial to own it. Looking forward to tomorrow!
I have been doing your yoga challenge since 2021 and I can say this is the best challenge yet for me..... I really need the flexibility work as I do a lot of cardio and weights so for me this is just the recipe for a good stretch. I now have my husband doing it every day with me and he feels that his day is much more positive as a result of your classes.... we find it easier to block those negative thoughts, especially when we are trying to sleep.... thank you so so much for a wonderful challenge.... we don't want it to end... you are the best Ellen and Ken
I had just finished Day 15 when Day 16 was posted, so I went ahead and knocked this one out too and it was just what I needed. Those hip openers always feel so great as a counter-balance to all the sitting I do in my job. I was even kind of diggin the "toe torture."
Hey Tim, right there with you with the need to not identify with thoughts, especially negative ones…. Thank you for the clarity prior to movement, it is very valuable to let go of thoughts that don’t serve us. Workout was awesome, very much so in the moment and loving the movement/stretching. Thanks Tim!
Thank you. This was amazing. I thought most tension was help in my hamstrings and outer hip then did this and realised a whole load of tension in the flexors and quads which after realising helped all the way round. Will need to do this practice again.
One of the things I’ve found most helpful with the challenge is letting it not be a 30 day challenge for myself- just jumping back in today after 2 days off. In the winter months (n. eastern US) I transition from a landscape designer to a woodwork and furniture maker, which is super hard on my wrists. Have, in the past, been one of those ‘power through your practice’ guys and even though it hasn’t been discussed in your instruction, I haven’t felt rushed through participating in the challenge to ‘keep up’ and have been taking days off to rest the body as needed. kudos Tim, great series. Already feeling the mobility difference ✌️
I can never get over how different the two sides of my body are. My right quad felt like it was going to tear, my left, no problem. I can't believe it's already day 16, time flies when you're having fun. Thanks Tim.
Wow! That lunge with the knee against the wall was the best stretch I've ever been able to get for my unreasonably tight quads, which in turn made that pigeon soooooooo gooood. That stretch will definitely be part of my daily routine moving forward. Thank you, Tim!!!
I want to thank you for your honesty about how your thought can tend to negative. This has been an ongoing exercise for me for some time. As I write i am reminded that I have a choice at any time about how I think. I can imagine scary outcomes or I can imagine pleasurable outcomes. I dont want to be in fear about the present or future. It has been an unlearning and relearning.
Just beyond halfway through this series! Haven’t done this as a daily practice for a while, hips are talking this week. This practice really helped them quiet down. Remembering to keep pelvis aligned with ribs when you’re not reminding me will be the challenge ( my pelvis wants to lag behind like a rusty hinge anytime there is a hint of arch in the air). All really so helpful. Thank you.
Well rounded, strong yet mindful. Just what I wanted/needed today. The quad stretch at the wall is a fave that I somehow keep forgetting that it exists lol.. thanks for that reminder and a great class!
Thanks Tim 😊 Just to let you know that at the end as soon as a lay down an ad starts playing as it’s the end of the vid! Not sure if there’s a way around this, adding a minute to the end of your vid or whatever. I was also wondering if you could do a series of short videos covering the foundational poses and how to do them properly? Downward dog for example, it took me being at a live class to have it pointed out what I was doing wrong. I wonder if a detailed walkthrough focusing pose by pose could be good? Much love for the vids, they’re super helpful and I’m really getting a lot from the challenge 🙏
I’ve got a tutorial section on the CMC and all the videos are ad free. That might be the best place for you. Just send me your message on the CMC chat feature. If you’re not signed up for the CMC, click here: timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
Thanks for one more great video. The preparation for the handstand was quite challenging. All the hip stretching creates more space in my pelvis and feels great after the practice. See you tomorrow!
Thanks, Tim! Nice practice. Lots of toe torture, bending forward and balancing on tops of feet. Yikes. I haven't done pigeon in a while so that was very nice. Also, my quadriceps are very open these days with all the stretches we've been doing. I'm a day behind. Hopefully, I will catch up tomorrow. Namaste.
My neck is back in shape so I was able to complete this one fully six days later :) I went for full chaturangas without the adjustment too soon, for sure
Getting into a boat was never so easy! I mean getting into boat...whatevs. Amazing how different sides of thebody freak on different days. Great class. Love the rooster!
Another awesome session coach! I was able to get to part 3 on most of these, thanks to you! And, those stretches afterwards were freaking incredible! Thanks you, Tim!
Day 16 Accountability check-in comment -- this one was hard, and I am SO GLAD you reminded us that it's not a competition. This one was hard for me, but I am finally not worrying about moving like an advanced practitioner; my level was plenty challenging for me -- I think the breathing helps with this. "See you" on the mat tomorrow.
Nice flow! Didnt get the wallstretch at first but if I pressed my back against the wall it was really nice. Added an ushtrasana after that, felt great. Thanks!
What a great practice! I appreciated your note about having all the toes tucked under for the foot torture :) I'd been missing my pinky toes and WOW does the stretch intensify with those suckers tucked under! I do miss having the shavasana as part of the videos. I find I'm much less likely to do them if they aren't part of the video. I love your classes though, I just need to get myself to actually click through to the shavasana videos 😅
Thanks for the feedback. FYI... On the CMC (Conscious Movement Community) site the videos have savasana at the end and all are ad-free/interruption free.
❤🎉 After a stressful work day that was absolutely perfect! Tim you made it on to my evening gratitude list. I’m not sure how many times I smiled during practice tonight but hit the spot!
Thanks for these great challenges! Running a few days behind, but finally made it to day 16. Made me realize how tight my ankles and toes are. Would love an episode on ankles and toes.
I really love the move where the leg is against the wall. I think it most useful to me and I'd like to do it every day. Thank you Tim for bringing us something new along with the challenge.
Hey DeeAnn. For those students completing the challenges and want to know 'What Next,' there's a program called the 'What's Next' course on the CMC (Conscious Movement Community). The CMC offers you access to my exclusive weekly videos and 8 exclusive courses - all ad free. I'll also be glad to provide personal guidance and answer all your questions via the CMC 'chat' feature. You can try it for 2 weeks free right now, click the link: www.timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement Thanks and let me know how it works out for you!
The "toe torture" sequence always challenges me with a severe imbalance of stretch on one side, but recalling your opening meditation helped me refocus away from the "bad" thoughts and I just tuned into what I could do with my right big toe. Totally shifted my energy. Thanks! - Ray
Thank you for the backbend preparation opening up the hips in front of the thighs. I hope you will also expand more on arm flexibility. Personally my backbends are great from the hips down, but from the chest up not so great.
Oooh my quads! Oh and toe torture for good measure, how strong and flexible your toes must be, mine have a long way to go. Another great practice to start the day.
Thanks for a great session! I haven’t missed a day and better yet my 19 year old son has joined me most days. Even my 11 year old daughter came to the party today!
Knee issues are common and not anything to trip on, you should modify the stretches that cause issues as I’ve mentioned in the day 5 stretch video. Don’t go as deep and back off on any that cause pain, but keep practicing the other poses. You should integrate the knee strengthening class as well 2 - 3 times a week.
Thanks so much Tim! Have always loved your videos, they're one of my favorite ways to start my day. I would say that I personally find it nice to have the shavasana included at the end of the video because otherwise I have a tendency of not doing it, even if I know how important. But that's just me :) Keep up the good work!
Hey Sophia. Thanks for the feedback. The video metrics tell me that not enough folks stick around long enough for the Savasana at the end of the RUclips videos. That’s why I don’t include it on all the videos. For the more serious students there are the CMC classes which are all ad free/interruption free and all include Savasana. You can try it free for two weeks. For more information click here: timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
@@yogawithtim Aw that's too bad! People are missing out on the best part, including myself. Thanks for the link :) I'll also try to just take the time myself after your videos without Savasana.
The toe tortures are getting slightly easier to bear - maybe I can start calling 'toe torment' 🙂 You make a very good point about not comparing to others - I find that since covid and practicing more on line at home, especially with your teachings, I focus more on my own progress as opposed to the inevitable comparing to others in a class (at home, only my cat is judging me...) Great session, back and hips feel great. Thanks Tim and Ollie! 🙂
Hey Tim! Thanks again for class today. Would a reclined virasana be a fair swap for that knee agains the wall stretch? It's easier and less pressure on my knees. (I'm on the bendy side of the strength/flexibility spectrum.)
That was a great practice! I find forward beds pretty easy, but anything bending back is really tight and leg flexion often results in cramps. any suggestions how to avoid that? They subside as soon as I stretch the limb out, but it really disturbs the continuity of the practice.
When you practice more frequently it will get better. The muscles just aren't used to it yet. Cramps aren't a bad thing, keep at it. Going forward, I’m happy to answer all your personal coaching questions on the Conscious Movement Community (CMC) site. Just send me your message on the CMC chat feature. If you’re not signed up for the CMC, click here: timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
Hi Tim, I have been following your programm since 01/01 and should be doing this class today (sometimes I cannot do one and do then 2 the next day etc). However in your last lesson I think I have maybe exagerated a little and feel quite some muscle pain (I am used to do yoga, so this is not absolutely new to me, guess I always overdo in my stretching), should I just rest a little now and skip a few days or should I continue easily and listen to my body? Probably difficult to tell from a distance ;-)?
I really enjoyed this one and felt the benefit. But I have quite bad arthritis in both big toes (Gallic rigidus) which makes any pressure on the toes very painful. Do you have any tips for modifying some of the stretches to avoid this (while also doing the other exercises to try to improve toe flex and strength)?
Here's a video that will help a bunch to restore ankle and toe mobility ruclips.net/video/D7WZ9ZROId0/видео.html For specific guidance on how to modify poses hit me up on the CMC membership : www.timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement

Patrick
