“Reckoner” is my favorite Radiohead song, and it’s the first song on this video. ☺️ And “All I Need” is the least sappy-ass love song I’ve ever heard.

that comment made me chuckle, bu c'mon, _All I Need_ is pretty sappy-ass, the point is that's not always a bad thing. Reckoner is brilliance, as is _How to Disappear Completely_ from Kid A. In Rainbows is very well balanced though --- Bodysnatcher! Then Videotape (ohmygawd!) A commercial pop group could never produce this stuff. In a way, total redemption by the fans for the horrific ordeal the music industry put them through with OK Computer.
No artists should have to replay their old art like a performing monkey unless they want to. There has to be a better way to let such artists live a decent life, without the grind of touring just to make hay while the sun shines.

      That’s “Optimistic”

Thom Yorke’s left eye was completely paralyzed when he was born, or the muscles around it. It took a half dozen surgeries to get it functional and able to be closed fully. He said everyone has their physical thing, and this is his.

One of the things that has always impressed me about Radiohead is how Colin, the bass player, is almost always looking at Phil, the drummer, just to make sure they’re as synced as possible, ensuring a very tight rhythm section, and setting a very solid foundation for their live performances.

That first song is "Optimistic" off the album Kid A. That album is so dope!

Great reactions. There are a couple of songs from this session Thom plays solo on piano you might like. And if you enjoyed this m, yiu shoukd definitely check out the other From the Basement they recorded for The King of Limbs album. It elevated that album even more than this performance did for In Rainbows. Cheers.

I like how both parts ended on b-sides. How good are their b-sides? Goosy Lucy, Chicken Licken! :P
More bands ought to involve mallet instruments like they do here, it adds such a lovely upper topping to a noise.

Great comments below. But also, @32:00 I appreciate your first takes. The fans can say you are "way off" but that's missing the point of art. Sure, the creators may have somethin' in mind (though Thom often doesn't!) but from what I can tell artists like Radiohead are not asserting one absolute proper interpretation. There often is none (unless you are doing "in your face" rock statements like Roger Waters for instance, which is also legit). Take _House of Cards_ - I often meditate on that track as very sweetly depressive (marital/relationship dysfunction and abandon, and so forth) but that's only the lyrics, the music can at times speak a very different story to me, depending on my mood.
