OK Computer is considered by most to have been one of the best albums of the 90s. It is a huge leap sonically from their previous album The Bends, which is not a bad album at all. It is Radiohead’s masterpiece in my opinion, and they played around the world touring the album for 2 years. When they started thinking about recording another album, they were so tired from their tour that the band almost broke up. The result was a radical change in their sound for their next album Kid A. And they have consistently put out great music ever since. I saw them in concert a few years ago, and it was an amazing show.

This album is absurdly good. It hooks you with two great, rockier songs, then it starts to depart with subterranean, taking you deeper into its melancholic alienation, then, after exit music, you're left in a state of stunned reflection. THEN it hits you with let down, probably the greatest radiohead song. It's relentless, never boring. Anyway, this comment is ending up drivel

This may be my very favorite rock-guitar-oriented album of the '90s, and that was a *great* decade for rock-guitar-oriented bands and albums! "OK Computer" is more than just a "rock album" though. It's akin to a truly great cinematic experience, of the kind that rarely comes into one's life. It still moves me and takes my breath away, twenty-three years after I first bought it and heard it in full.

Changed the game, rewrote the rules of “rock” with that record. Changed me...the following pair of more electronic beauties are your reward for surviving the intensity and beautiful angst of “OK Computer”, but it remains their flat out masterpiece. Later productions have been excellent musically and sonically, but how many musical apocalypses can be expected from any one artist? The great thing about the good reaction videos is that they can potentially demonstrate to those who never take the time to really listen...how to really listen. I mean, he doesn’t write them all by him self, he often writes together with other people.
And a even more people in some ways since “writing the song” doesn’t have to be the lyrics, it can be anything from the drum pattern to the guitars

Great reaction, I really love this album and what I liked the most is that you're very open minded about hearing new stuff, letting yourself feel music as it is.

1997 was a great year for music . Some truly great Albums - ok computer , fat of the land , when I was born for the 7th time and a classic which seems to have been forgotten - ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space by spiritualized. Also honourable mention to urban hymns and what’s the story morning glory . Would love you to review the spiritualized album - it’s about his broken relationship with a girl who dumped him to date the lead singer of the verve

I remember hearing this album when I was really into Korn and nu metal in like 98/99
And it was one of the first non heavy and non hip hop albums I had.
And it really helped my little 14 year old brain expand my musical tastes

Are you aware that this album has been excellently covered... The whole album... In a reggae style, called "Radiodread",by the Easy Star All Stars, who also did an album called "Dub side of the moon".
Well worth a listen. Real quality.

I bought this album on the strength of its review in Big Issue when it was released. It’s superb. For me Radiohead have released three perfect albums, The Bends, OK Computer and In Rainbows. This band just keeps morphing into a new direction and they keep staying fresh. OK Computer is one of the top albums in my playlist. It never ages.

So much influence on this record, from Miles Davis to parts of beach boys pet sounds, you need to have massive talent to pay homage to your peers, and still be original. A much more important band, and record than any other in the last 25 years 😉 they’ve shaped so much of what we listen to today 🤔
