Saw them in 1965 and thereafter. . . old fart here. Butter was amazing, more power and versatility than anyone. Bloomfield was a student of musical genres. BBB combined so many genres, but I would never think of them as a rock band. This album was in the air so much in 1966, at least in Northern California.

You should try to listen to Sleep and High on Fire, both Sabbath influenced bands, Matt Pike started High on Fire after his band Sleep disbanded, I'll admit Sleep is kinda hard to stay in to because their songs are so long and slow but you'd see the worth in it just like I do because you're a music fan.

I love this work - I'd go so far to say it's my favourite. It's quite mathematical in construction but the overall effect of the piece is deeply spiritual - like some long journey that eventually returns to the starting point. It's also very rhythmic, quite groovy and funky.

I did see them during this tour … 83/84.. this same line up .. I have never danced so much in my life .. and I don’t really dance .. as you said everyone was 100% on point .. it was general admission show, outdoors, I got right up front .. saw Tina and the back up singers and David up close .. best concert experience ever .. amazing how good they sound live.. the energy and joy they all had.. every single person was vital to this show and they all shined.. art at its finest

Correct The song is about England's Orbital M25 Motorway. It's a road of despair, it frequently comes to a standstill, and is known by many Brits as London's orbital car park.

Dear sir, I thoroughly enjoy your reactions to these albums that I have enjoyed since their releases (i am now 48 and grew up listening to these musical stories from their releases, and still listen to them often.). I find your full grasp of the stories and great appreciation of the musicianship of these albums, which I have loved for years, a very enjoyable to experience. It is most gratifying to watch someone experience them and appreciate them for the first time. I thank you. An overlooked album by King Diamond is "the Puppet Master". A tale that takes place in Victorian times (no spoilers). It is both Horror and Tragedy (as most of his story telling is). I believe if you gave it a try you would find the story compelling, as it is another great example of his story telling and it incorporates a female singer playing a role as well. If you ever decide to experience this album, I would, without hesitation, enjoy watching and listening to your insights. Again, thank you, sir.

Really you dived in at the wrong time. PXR5 wasn't a great album. The band was in transition im reaction to the Punk era. Thers much more cerebral music on earlier offerings but they changed amazingky through their lifetime. For me the albums In Search of Space, Doremi Fasol Latido, Astounding Sounds Amazing Music & Quark Strangeness and Charm. These are all very different but span many years. I think you'd like Steppenwolf, Time We Left This World Today, Space Is Deep and Spirit of The Age. All masterpieces in different ways.

Apart so many divine tracks of Japan and David Sylvian how can one describe or say anything about The Devil's Own..is it a song , is it a story from a sacred book , is it a muvie made of words and sound only , is it a mandatory cathartic experience one has to go through ,were only following the voice will lead you back to the light again or all the above and some more? These are my thoughts every time i hear that spell bounding track and i know that i will always feel awe regardless how many times i have heard this track for the last 40 years!

Ok sorry for all the comments. The only reason it was released in as many theaters as it did was because aome of the music was released first. Stigwood made a deal with Paramont. The higher the song went on the charts the more theatres the movie would be released.
