Brad's driving comment reminded me of when we had our 4th...when we notified family I was in labor, my father-in-law responded with "so exciting." My husband's cousin, on the other hand, responded with "Exciting!? Once you get to 4, it's just like making a trip to the mailbox."
Still makes me laugh lol :)

Rachel I sure as heck hope you weren’t taking your blood pressures racing around your house like it appeared! My goodness mine was elevated just watching you. This is probably too late to post, from one medication taking anxiety person to the other, try and just sit back and take care. Your poor ankles do look like a disaster but the urine protein findings were perfect. If these babies aren’t here yet I hope you find a way to get some adult company and try and talk thru these horrible anxiety filled days while getting the rest you need. I know I know for a anxious person not a easy task!

My bp has always been a little on the higher side, but I've always been over weight. But when I was pregnant with my son at 18 (now 31 and on bp meds) my bp was pretty decent for the most part. Around my 8th month I started swelling, it was pretty bad. I told my doctors I was swelling and they like naw, you're find. I went to my first one week appointment and got sent to the hospital. One of the doctors at the practice was like you will have a baby tonight. I was like what do you mean I still have over 3 weeks left. And he was like I'll put it to you this way, you won't leave the hospital til you have him. The highest I know my bp got was 188/122. I was in the hospital all together 5 days. I got put in June 5th. The doctor that delivered me 18 years before actually delivered my son. The day he induced me he asked me if he sent me home on bed rest would I stay on it. I looked at him with a straight face and asked him did he want the truth or a lie, this was June 7th. I was already going crazy cause I wasn't suppose to get out of bed unless I was going to the bathroom cause every time I did my bp sky rocketed. So when I asked him that he said I was getting induced. He broke my water about 3:30 pm on June 7th and I had him at 6:11 am June 8th. But I did have to start pushing before I was at a 10 cause my bp was going up again and he didn't want to have to do a c-section on me. Later that day I was put in ICU and put on magnesium to keep me from having g seizures. I left June 10th and my son left NICU June 17th. So I know how you feel Rach. It's soooo uncomfortable and scary. My lips was even purple at one point.

She spent 118 days in the NICU and is 5 now and is thriving. She weighs 30 lbs now I believe. She’s amazing. My daughter was told that she would be a high risk to have other children and they wouldn’t recommend it.

OH GEESH! I had just taken a big sip of Soda when Rach said "you should be rolling a bugger". I almost lost it.
That high number was definitely high, plus more importantly like you said "high for you". You are right the cure for Preeclampsia is delivering the babies, not bed rest. So glad you went and got it checked out, better safe than sorry.
I had to lay down while the hospital was trying to get my blood pressure under control (not pregnancy related) with meds. My numbers were through the roof, and I had fluid build up around my heart. It took the hospital a couple of days to get my blood pressure under control.

Your baby tummy is gorgeous! In hospital bed! You look super great and are so fortunate to carry twins being as petite as you are. So thankful it didn’t turn out to be preeclampsia. The girls are reminding you of the days ahead, getting up at night, breast feeding two, now just add three helpers. Rach you are a pro at carrying twins. They should be fine if born this early.. How much are they anticipated to weigh? My guess is five pounds and a few ounces each. My tummy looked like yours on third pregnancy. He was ten pound 22 inches long and born day after due date. Love, prayers, and hugs for the big day coming. Question, have you thought about the twins having a present for the other three when you bring them home? Wonderful idea for new sisters to have gift for each child. Calms the jealouyness. It was done iN my family and I repeated with each birth. Lyndell and Eloise will be happy with a baby doll. Might check into doll that takes a bottle or food and then wets diaper.” Lyndell will be so excited. A piece of baby equipment for Eloise, a baby doll carrier would be great.
Here’s to an easy delivery. Lots of love!💕🌷💐💗🧑🏽

I was a nursery nurse. Labor and delivery etc for 17 yrs. Many but not all babies were able to go to be monitored in the normal nursery at delivery. Like I said not all but most of the 35 weepers that went to the nicu spent a few days there. But steroids wouldn’t be a bad idea. Bed rest can help if your labs and urine are normal. Bed rest never hurts.

Oh Rach you are so precious! Those feet/legs look incredibly uncomfortable. I was hoping the hospital would put TED stockings on you & give you some sequentials for a few hours with a catheter to get rid of the swelling & literally make you rest for 4-6 hours. The sequentials would negate blood clot concerns because they are literally moving the pressure in your legs for you. I think if it’s your taped leg that’s more swollen since the tape was applied, I would take that off too. When you’re taking your own blood pressure, try to sit down quietly for 5 mins first, with your arms both equal in position in comparison to your heart (ie don’t have the BP arm up higher). Take slow deep breaths in your nose & out of your mouth. Any rest you do have, try to elevate your feet right up from under your knees first to your feet & another pillow cushion under the natural curve of your back but your head elevated the most. I know it’s extremely difficult to lay on your back but with knees & feet right up, back support & elevated head you should be OK. Incontinence pads to wee in & change regularly as the fluid leaves via your bladder would also be extremely useful. If you get a headache & swelling ANYWHERE else please go back to the hospital immediately. Pre-eclampsia that turns into eclampsia is life threatening. Take very good care of yourself 💞

Oh Rachel your poor ankles, very best of luck with getting car seats, your bags packed and moved in to the Villa before you have the babies. Lyndle smiles just like you, really noticed it when you were standing 'in civilian clothes' lol and saying its best case scenario. take care and accept all offers of help from family, so you get to your goal. You are an amazing woman and mom Rachel and with Brad besides you - what a team xx

When taking your blood pressure you should be sitting quietly. I’m sure your amazing family will step up and help with the children Rachel and you should be listening to your doctors. Thinking of you and can’t wait to meet the new girls.

I was going to ask you about pre eclampsia. As I looked like you. I had pre eclampsia. BP 200/100 spilling protein. Only cure for pre eclampsia is delivery. My son was born at 31 weeks. Hopefully all is well and if you have 2 news princesses all will be well. Prayers and hugs ❤

Things have changed so much. I had pre eclampsia with my 1st nearly 40years ago. I was on bedrest in the hospital for 4 weeks. They tried inducing 4 times, the 4th time they got fetal distress with my 1st contraction. Emergency c-section full term on her due date. I had a tiny 5lb 4oz little girl. Fine with my 2nd daughter she was 2 weeks early by c-section 6lbs 8oz. My 3rd i started to develope pre eclampsia again at 36 weeks so they delivered him 7lbs 7 oz. They thought he may even have been eager than 36 weeks as he had no suck reflex and no eye lashes or eyebrows. After a couple of hours he was fine, no nice in our tiny community hospital. We went home in 5 days. So many changes now.

Preeclampsia both pregnancies and I was put on bed rest both times. For me, it did not work, the protein in my urine went higher and they admitted for continued stay on bed rest in the hospital with 4 different blood pressure medications that all did not work and the final medication they put me on was Macrobid. When it got to that point and 2 weeks in the hospital, they decided Caesarean was the only option. The swelling in my ankles never really went away after that. Now I'm 45 and still deal with swelling in my ankles all the time.

I am hoping and praying all is and will be well for you and the babies. It might help if you lie down and prop your lower legs up a full 12+" above the top of your chest for about 20 minutes every couple of hours and especially before you go to bed. Trust me, this will really help. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
