Shoutout to Papa's Pizza ToGo in Franklin, NC! We called them, ordered a pizza, and had it delivered to our grandparents there. They called us back and let us know that they were doing well and safe!
Apparently my very unimportant neighborhood has some important power lines running through it, and so again, we lucked out. From here, I'll try to use every resource at my disposal to help the people around me and then move on to the trails. We don't know the extent of the damage yet, but we're sure it's going to require a huge effort. Thank you all for supporting my platform. I'll do all I can on your behalf to use it for good.
Please let us know how to help! We just had 3 1000 year flood event here in VT in 2 years and two were back to back. I SUCKs cleaning up but it takes a village!
Im glad that you and your family is safe from this. Ive donated to the fund. Yes, I know that 4 bucks isnt alot but im only 15 years old, who doesnt have alot of money but i wanted to help in one way or other.
Hey Seth, my name is Bryant. We met once last year. I was working for TPS and did some lawn care at your property. We spoke for a hot minute about our backgrounds in riding. I grew up on the Northeast in the early 2000’s, was deep in the downhill scene. I live in Edneyville, just above Gerton and Chimney Rock. We’re in trouble here, supplies are running dangerously low. The shelter in Edneyville has no diapers left. Water and fuel are short. If you could get the word out that we’re looking for supplies across the greater Asheville area, it would be a great help. Thanks man, you’re the reason I found my love for downhill and freeride again.
😢 this guy is lucky to not only have the equipment but the knowledge to survive a hurricane like this. The way he knows how to make sure the water is flowing and has enough… he’s a great person to know in times like this. ❤ also thanks for showing us what it was like.
@@noloyaltyi.4414 that’s not how an unsurvivable hurricane works do you know how many couples woman with their men who stayed in place and died? I said he’s lucky for more than one reason… tbh he should’ve left with his baby and wife, they had notice and financial means. For all we know he may have thought this will be good content… telling his wife they’ll be fine but no one knew what to expect or they wouldn’t be gone right now(except those without money or a ride or the ability to travel cause of whatever condition). He barely escaped the devastation hitting his properties but some neighbors were not so lucky. This is not a male specific talent. There are plenty of outdoorsy women that can outlast men when it comes to survival skills. But it’s not a competition… I’m happy for the people that lived and I’m sad for the folks that lost everything. This hasn’t happened ever and the wether keeps hitting us. Time we all get books and study up,
Seth. Fan from UK here. You mention at the Ranger Station that you don't deserve to be left unscathed. A lot will beg to differ. You've helped build bike parks. Given away numerous bikes. Fixed others. Inspired countless cyclists across the globe with your chanel. A chanel which isn't just entertaining, but informative and suitable for all ages. You are an inspiration within the cycling community. You are even out checking on others that might be less fortunate. Huge respect to you 👏
can you help send some $$$ down here to help with relief? Our government isn't doing shit. Oh, what's that? Not a single Country in the WORLD is sending relief to us? Typical. When America needs help, no one is around. I hope you have fun with your new chicken laws, redcoat.
Im sure by November the Federal Government will invest in USA citizens and our survival of mother nature catastrophes in America. USA sees many tornados, hurricanes, flooding, & earthquakes. We have to be able to float our own before allowing disillusioned people to sneak over & collect $$
I deeply empathize with everyone affected. I was in Puerto Rico when Hurricane Maria hit and essentially devastated our small island. I know how difficult and worrying it is not to know whether your loved ones are safe. I truly hope things improve soon. To everyone out there, please stay safe.
This is a great example of having the knowledge money and resources to prevail through a terrible situation. Any good craftsman makes the job easier with the right tools.. He puts together a great shopping list to be prepared.
A group of stormchasers I watch brought in Starlinks yesterday and installed them at various places around town. One is at the Asheville PD, one at Itto's, one at the relief station at the Asheville Mall. Let people know so that they can try to get word to their loved ones.
He came on later with more as he has bigger funds to use, but yeah Brandon, Corey and Vince were the ones to set up those locations. And it was in fact Brandon's idea for Ryan to bring as many as he could, because he knew of the importance of coms and that his funds would be limited. They had a phone call about it Saturday evening.@@RedRoseSeptember22
My neighbors evacuated from Florida due to the hurricane.. they went to Asheville.. they are cut off from everything up there with no food. No dog food left either. yet we are fine here in Florida.. Thank you DeSantis.
Yes, I work as an architect and one of my clients was more concerned about their project than what really matters. The life and well-being of the workers. Sunday night I got a text asking if the workers were available and all I could think was, very selfish attitude. How about “is everyone ok?” Some people just don’t realize how lucky we are. Let’s help those in need. Thank you for the video ❤❤❤
At 9:40 - YES YOU DO DESERVE TO HAVE YOUR HOME INTACT. ❤. Everyone deserves it even though they’ve been sorrowfully shortchanged by this devastating storm. Don’t forget you deserve it. You can’t help others lift their spirits if you lower yours by assuming you are undeserving. ❤❤❤
I just finished an 8 hour round trip (usually takes 2) to take my wife's parents with two generators and about 25 gallons of water. They live in Fairview, right down the road from Chimney Rock. My father in laws business literally washed away. 50 years of work, gone. That said, what hasn't hit the news yet is that in the Garren Creek area at least 10 people are confirmed dead and more are missing. A 10 YO was rescued naked in a tree two days ago. The rest of his family has not been recovered. Its a mind blowing tragedy that is just starting to unfold.
And during an election year... With one candidate being a conspiracy theorist climate change denier who just recently said that the government is denying people access to relief aid...
Networks will not show all the dead Dogs and Cats.. that would even upset the libs.. so no real reporting. 200,000 migrants let into NC by Gov, Cooper, yet not one is out helping us. not reporting that either,
I live in Greenville, SC and just got power turned on tonight at 11:37pm 10/2/24…I’ve been without power since 9/27/24 and feel so blessed to have the basic things I had taken for granted. Please pray for those that are still missing, lost everything, and the rest of us that we can continue to rebuild what’s been lost. Thanks, sincerely, in advance.
Same here. I'm in Greenville as well and electricity was restored on 10/2. A few friends got theirs on the 3rd and 4th. Trying to figure out how to actually help the folks in NC, TN, etc.
@@vasocreta Are you interested in helping out on the ground or an organization to donate to? I wanted to help out on the ground and just spent this past weekend in Burnsville, NC shoveling endless mud and silt left behind in peoples homes. There’s so many people from all over the US helping up there but they still need all the help they can get. It’s like a war zone in some of the parts I saw and I didn’t even venture to downtown Asheville. I can only imagine what that’s like.
I got a better sense of the situation watching this than the news. It was very reminiscent of the floods we had here in Queensland, Australia between 2009 and 2013.
I thought the same, this is more informative than a news video from a corporate station. It was sad to hear the hiccup with getting a prescription and I'm feeling for anyone who can't get diapers or pet kibble.
Even in the US, the news is not covering this monster event well. That hurricane was 700 miles across and effected 6 states, some places worse than others of course. People died. People are caught in their mountain homes with roads and even road beds washed out
@@55robinwoodyeah the MSM is garbage. I gave up watching it years ago. There's so many great people and independent journalist nowadays on RUclips where we can get much better information on these things. My family lives in georgia and got hit bad, but not like NC got it. My cousin works in asheville and fortunately he was back in georgia before this storm. I dont think most people realize how bad this hurricane was. All i could do is watch the radar and pray. It was so crazy seeing it span across all the Carolinas, georgia and Tennessee at the same time. So sad what these people are dealing with.
Same I haven't even watched the news I came straight to RUclips!!!! I appreciate people like this so much because I'm in Tx and I have family down south!!
I live in georgia & it’s day 8 of no power here. The power grid in my town was completely down & my 6 house neighborhood had 106 trees down. My area has never suffered so much destruction from a hurricane, not even from katrina! Stay safe everyone!
@@mazdarx-8rotary.97 the it took a weird angle if the states that were hit are hit by a hurricane like they were it's usually the edge of the storm or remains after they hit more coastal areas or very weak. It also didn't help that it rained alot this Sept and the ground was already very wet when the storm hit. In fact where I live it rained for several days before and after the storm
May God keep and protect all of these people so unfortunate to have had their lives and livelihoods disrupted and destroyed by the storm. May they find hope in their hearts, peace in their minds and compassion in their brothers and sisters throughout their communities. May they find peacefully the resources they need to survive and enough comfort to make it bearable and indeed the ability to collectively rebuild and move forward.
I live in east TN where some MAJOR flooding happened, wiping out towns, and so I am glad to see that people are talking about this. I hope the people who need help receive it because as of right now we still have a bunch of missing people and those who are in dangerous situations have lost everything.
Well it's good somebody is talking about it. Mainstream media was trying to ignore it for days, evidently because they are way too busy trying to influence the election one way or the other to be bothered with real news.
My area looks pretty similar. We are on day 4 with no power. I’m not complaining. I’m thankful to still have water & a gas stove that I can cook on. All my loved ones are safe, which is what’s important. Be safe out there. Prayers for all those affected 🙏
I remember during hurricane Andrew, the people across the street from us were on the same power grid as a medical building and a grocery store. They got power in three days, and on our side of the street it took over a month. What was beautiful to see though, was standing at the end of the block and looking at lines of extension cords running across the street from neighbor to neighbor. Just to be able to run your refrigerator and plug in a couple fans became the difference between surviving and thriving. The people on the powered side were so thankful and felt so blessed, they were eager to encourage their neighbors to tap in to their good fortune. When I hear about people looting or scalping generators and water for a tremendous markup, I think about those extension cords, and I feel much better about human nature. God bless!
I don't know if it's true but doesn't but doesn't the government have a chemical that makes rain and isn't there a part of North Carolina that has lithium and and crystals that may be somebody want it Lakewood happened in Maui in Hawaii just saying😮😮😮
I live in hendersonville nc. Hundreds and thousands of us still without power. The situation here is apocalyptic. We need all the help and prayers we can get. Thank you.
Why don't you have solar panels? Even on rainy days with almost no sun I still get 10 kwh. What you really need is to use the gift God gave you, your brain. I have faith in you, to solve your own problems. See this as a test for your resolve and ability to use the gifts God gave you.
I work for a utility company that has dispatched line workers, but we can’t restore power to everyone immediately. Last year, after Ian, my son was without power & plumbing for a couple of weeks. It’s hard. Don’t run generators indoors, ok? Be careful.
As a native Floridian who has lived through every hurricane the past 60 years I feel your pain, It's times like these that you find out who your friends and neighbors are and if you come together you can make a difference. We are used to storms and we know how to deal with it, you guys up there are not signed to survive 1000 year storms. You will come back, it will just take a while. glad you and your family are safe and thank goodness for generators and fresh water wells
@SashaBaron112 there are probably millions of people who have lost their homes in multiple states and even more on top of that just going through struggles getting basic needs. How do you expect them to get to everyone that fast. It's not like they just have an infinite amount of resources, they have to pack everything and bring it all to said states. They also have to get roads open (literal roads are gone, just disappeared). It's a tough situation, and being realistic people have to just have to tough through unfortunately. Help will come eventually just be optimistic and pray. It's not like you're doing anything to help.
@@SashaBaron112the government is helping with what they can, and although I hate our current administration, he's sent planes with supplies and whatever else they need. Unfortunately, many roads were washed out and theres no way safe to get to these places. A lot of these places are very rural small towns in between mountains, so most things have to be done with helicopters and planes until the water goes down more. Nobody could have really prepared for it to be this bad.
I think the fact that natural citizens trying to help are being told not too or they’ll be arrested is what is frustrating. We understand it’s horrific and not safe, but more lives will be lost bc the government doesn’t want outside help. There are ppl willing to risk their lives, spend their own money, time, and equipment to help, but are being forced to stop.
he lives on the top of a hill. has a massive house and bank account. has generators, many gas powered tools and veicles. obviously is still able to work, film himself, post and edit videos online, charge his batteries and truck and laptop. hes 100% completely safe and was never in any serious danger. just massively inconvenienced. its a power outage and some roads are closed...thats all hes going through.. he will survive very easily and comfortably too.
Local here ; I live 5 minutes away from that gas station. The situation here is dire. People are still without power , cold, and nothing left. Memories , photos, heirlooms and loved ones are for the most part gone/missing. FEMA hasn’t done enough. Such a beautiful thing to see my community come together ! I live in Sweden and we have allmost all electric power cables down in the ground and not on poles in the air. So much better when storms hit hard. Thank you for sharing your struggle.
I’m not sure that would work here. The mountains are like the fjord region but there isn’t anywhere to run sea cables because it’s landlocked with rivers only.
Duke Energy has been putting up huge poles in West Central Florida and wants to put in a Nuclear Power Plant along the Gulf of Mexico. I don't think that is a good idea. The old nuclear plant nearby had a cracked wall and Duke decided not to repair that. Nothing could support it.
I live in Central KY and our neighborhood, built around 2008-2010, has all underground electric. No wires on poles. There are no mountains here though, maybe 150 miles east they really start. I have wondered since we bought our house in 2010 why more places don't have their electric lines underground. The person who commented about the landslides/mountains partially answered it. The only time we have a power outage is if there is a large amount of damage to the transformer (I think it's called). In 2012 a school bus driver had a heart attack and wrecked his empty bus into the transformer causing a power outage. (He survived and was fine. No one was injured.) Besides something like that, we rarely ever lose power. Which we are truly grateful for 🙏🏼
If gas is $2.79/gallon, then KUDOS to the station for not doubling or tripling their regular price. We're paying 30 cents more in the midwest. Stay safe!
I just moved from Humboldt County Ca. Gas was $5.42 Diesel was $5.52. and all food was astronomical as related to fuel costs. Consider your selves lucky that you have fuel now I just hope supplies keep coming in from the out side.
Excellent video! Most people have no idea, how difficult it is to get around in the area's affected by flooding, mudslides, downed tree's and powerlines. Gas is scare if available, water is a problem, no electricity, no water for those who have wells. You are smart to have a generator and the understanding of how to use it wisely and safely!
You deserve an Emmy for your documentary. I will show this to my family and be more prepared. Cash, fuel, generator, water, food, power banks. It always made sense , but seeing it first hand was extremely impactful.

It is mind blowing how we avoided this. We traveled from south Florida to have a mountain bike themed wedding in Old Fort. Us and our friends rode every day in Pisgah and DuPont, THE WEEKEND BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. I am sorry for the people that lost everything, hope they get the help they need. Also, if anyone knows him, I hope Chad from the Old Fort bike shop is well. I saw aerial photos and the whole area was covered in mud. He is the nicest, most pleasant bike shop owner and mechanic I’ve ever met.
Kudos to you Seth! We dodged a bullet down here in south Florida and we the fans are glad you and your family are safe and well. Thanks for the update.
May this year (2024) here in Brazil we lived the worst climatec disaster ever. The entire state of Rio Grande do Sul was under water for more than one month. Families lost everything, farmers lost animals and plantations, business lost everything. It´s horrible. Hope you all are well and safe
The whole country gathered into millions and millions of donations, because 1/5 of the whole state will need to be rebuilt. Keep in mind, Rio grande do Sul is the size of South Carolina AND Florida COMBINED Some big brands of Rio Grande do Sul lost many things, like FuelTech, who lost pretty much their whole stock in Brazil. But the impact was bigger on the small properties, people who didn't have anything other than their houses, their animals and their land. Consequentially, they lost everything. Just imagine, your in your 50's, and you see everything you have built throughout your whole life just get vanished by water. Literally devastating

2:40 we talk and talk about how bad electric vehicle milage is but forget how much energy those motors actually consume. When stationary it seems like electric vehicles can run things for a decent while because of how big those batteries are
The craziest thing is that the joules of energy an electric car uses is far less than what a gas powered car uses! Charging your electric car with a gas generator is far more efficient than driving a regular gas car
EVs get 80-140MPGe, the terrible ranges and massive batteries are because fossil fuels are far more energy dense than lithium battteries, the best lithium batteries have an energy density of around 2mj/l and a specific energy of about 0.9mj/kg while gasoline is 32-35mj/l and 45-48mj/kg

Seth, you've already got enough on your mind, but I would not be carrying gas in the bed of the gator. Its sitting right on top of the engine & exhaust, and it only takes a little leak for something to potentially ignite. If you do have to transport, make sure all spouts & vents are closed (some look open at 6:54...), drive cautiously, put a tarp or something underneath to prevent spills, and strap the gas tanks down securely. I am a former engineer for a side-by-side/ATV manufacturer. Glad you're safe & doing well.
Just a word of high caution. Please be careful carrying fuel in the back of any UTV / Utility vehicle (at least one that has the motor under the bed). If any fuel spills and seeps past the bed and onto the motor it is a high chance it will start on fire. Seen plenty of RZR's and Rangers burn to the ground with fuel being carried in the back.
Also please move AND keep your jerry cans AWAY from the generator when operating. It's a simple rule that can avoid an absolute catastrophe. Your situation is already compromised.....no need to complicate it!
As strange as it may sound, I would gladly find myself in your shoes. Right now, I'm in Kharkiv, and believe me, all troubles become more than relative when you look at them from here.
Really? I assumed Kharkiv would be in Ukraine, but wasnt sure, so I googled it and there are people from there leaving great Yelp reviews about local parks and restaurants...a man a week ago went to the park and apparently really enjoyed himself. Have you been attacked since then? You still have internet connection. These people are having to drive/walk through washed out roads and homes and down power lines to get close enough to any remaining cell tower and text their family that they are still alive. People are dead or missing. One man lost 11 family members including his mother and father. Are you SURE you'd switch places? This guy is not the norm. He has everything he needs, and therefore the money to be fully prepared for a hurricane and was not even in the eye of the storm. Yet hes still having to deal with a lot. But I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. I also imagine that no matter how good the park or the food, sharing a border with Russia is a full time menace.
My heart goes out to all those going through this catastrophe. After decades of living in Florida and surviving multiple storms, this one was the worst of all. We all made it without major damage, thank goodness, after Hurricane Wilma our neighborhood was without power for six weeks, it's very tough to have to wait and try to survive, but it always takes a few days for help to arrive in full force, hang in there as best you can.
I went through Katrina and learned to ABP "Always be prepared". I keep 200 gallons of gas, 900 gallons of diesel, 2 generators, 10 cases of water, 6 20 gallon propane tanks and lots of freezer food i could grill. We went through 2 weeks without power here in MS from Hurricane Ida knocking down every tree near power poles

For food i don't see a full freezer as the best thing. I mean. Definitely a potential hurricane target. Last century we lived in Va Beach for a while. We were several miles in from the oceanfront but our lot was only about 3 feet above sea level. And next street over those houses had an inlet in their back yards. @@CoffeeCrazylarge watershed, more rain than anyone expected. plus because it was raining before Helene got to the area, major drainages were already blocked.
@CoffeeCrazy three things: 1. Mountains are cooler and when humid air reaches the mountains and cools down, water condenses out in the form of rain (and lots of it) 2. When rain falls it flows down hill to the valleys where streams and rivers are. In the mountains, valleys are steeper and narrower so the water flows deeper. 3. As mentioned in the video, there was a big regular rain storm about a day before Helene hit so the ground was already full of water and the rivers and streams were already running high even before any rain from the hurricane hit. This has been the story whoever the mountains have had devastating floods (as in 1916): two huge rain events back to back without enough time between to dry out

I had no Idea Seth was from North Carolina, thought he was from Bentonville, Arkansas. This time last year I was looking for a new place to move to and call home. Brevard, NC was a first stop and Asheville, NC was on my second. In March this year I bought a 1995 Mercury Cougar that had been in desperate need of help far more than I realized. little did I know, that Cougar was blessing. If I didn't buy that Thunder-Cat and moved up to North Carolina as planned...I'd be S.O.L. I guess I'll have to try again in the spring when the snow melts. In the meantime, I hope everyone up there is doing well and improving little by little. Hope Seth's daughter is doing well and things are going in her and everyone's favor :)

God bless!

I am hearing (in Europe) from people in Tennessee that your government is NOT helping!?!? WHY ??!😡

There is no 3G in the US anymore, T-Mobile was one of the last carriers to still have it but they shut it down last year or earlier this year can't remember which and I don't think we have 2G either.
I’ve been in nc for 16 years and have never seen anything like this. I love the mountains and hope these towns can rebuild.
This is the worst I've ever seen.
We’ve seen it with Matthew and Florence in Eastern NC, but we’re also much better prepared to deal with large amounts of rain. It’s so devastating.
@@jenv6846 I agree those were really bad and on par with Helen but this is the worst western NC has seen and over 600 people are still unaccounted for. If you measure how bad a hurricane is by deaths this will probably be the one of if not the deadliest hurricane in NC history.
same here. i’ve lived my entire life here and this is like nothing i’ve seen. truly heartbreaking
@@Owen322 It’s absolutely devastating.
Blessings from South Africa. It's amazing to see so many people helping one another. Condolences to those who lost loved ones and pets. ❤
This was much needed. I can’t imagine how bad this was and I’m glad you put this into perspective for us people who didn’t even get hit
Thank you for making the video and sharing the utter devastation, as it helps those of us not part of this tragedy understand more of what hundreds of communities are going through. My personal experience was Hurricane Flora while living in Tobago in 1963. It was bad but not nearly as bad as Helene. God Bless all who are suffering in the many ways. Many have family and friends who died or are missing.
Thank you Seth for reporting really what is going on. My heart is so sad.... thank you for being such a good neighbor!
I work a junk removal company, have spent the last few days booking Flood damage for people and more, downed Trees and rubble. i really feel for you all! stay safe
What do you mean booking flood damage. ? I also run a junk removal business and we are heading to valdosta. We are great affordable prices for this hurricane at the moment but any recommendations
Glad youre safe! My apartment buildings 1st floor was entirely flooded! Love from GA.
I hope you were well above that first floor. Stay safe
God Bless Your Hearts For All Your Doing Your Truly The Heros Here I Seen The Two guys they had donated gas, water etc and were also live talking with you so it's pretty cool watching you now after then. God Bless You All My Prayers Are With Everyone Effected In This Storm Nobody was Truly Prepared For This Catastrophic storm. The way y'all pulled together truly speaks volumes
SALT WATER. RINSE WITH SALT WATER. KEEP IT COVERED AND IF U HAVE IT USE A HYDROCOLLOID COVERING. Bactine is also great waterless cleanser. Hope your daughter is alright i hope someone sees wmthis who needs to see it
Perfect advice!
Just make saline......
Boiled water salt and baking soda.... Easy solution to make....
The sewer backing up and not running is gonna be a MAJOR health issue. Holy smokes , it’s gonna get pretty bad.
In Texas when there was an imminent risk of this happening people would take the caps off any exterior plumbing clean outs to help keep the sewage from backing up into their homes. Not recommended unless there is a VERY real threat of this happening tho because critters can get in there.
My heart breaks for those impacted with real loss due to these storms and the stress that comes afterwards. Stay safe people!
Even if it was septic it wouldn't be good either.
Most people in the US don't know how to function w/o running water and modern plumbing. That's the scary thing.
The earth is poisoned in the whole area from cars, tractors, containers of chemicals and oil. All those buildings had gas, and sewers or septics.
Having been through a lot of this stuff as retired military. What you’ll find is no one cares about the sewer
Sending prayers 🙏.
When I heard Ashville got it bad, I thought of the slop above your house. You are lucky, and you DO deserve it- frickin workaholic.
Prayers for your daughter.
Thanks for dropping this. As somebody who’s watched your videos for a long time and is aware that you live in that area, obviously I was concerned. Stay strong.
It’s heartbreaking to see the devastation. Thank you for bringing the awareness to all of us who can help.
2:40 we talk and talk about how bad electric vehicle milage is but forget how much energy those motors actually consume. When stationary it seems like electric vehicles can run things for a decent while because of how big those batteries are
You can make a gas engined vehicle into a generator with a simple power inverter.
To stay in topic, check out how electric vehicle did in Tampa Bay area (e.g. Davis Island). 🔥🏠🔥🏡🔥
>buy electric car
>use it to power house
The craziest thing is that the joules of energy an electric car uses is far less than what a gas powered car uses! Charging your electric car with a gas generator is far more efficient than driving a regular gas car
EVs get 80-140MPGe, the terrible ranges and massive batteries are because fossil fuels are far more energy dense than lithium battteries, the best lithium batteries have an energy density of around 2mj/l and a specific energy of about 0.9mj/kg while gasoline is 32-35mj/l and 45-48mj/kg
So happy to hear from you dude, my neighboring towns here in SC still don't have power! They say that it will take until Thursday!
Bummer we got power last night but half our country block is still out - North GV Cherrydale. Offered laundry services to neighbors... at least 3 houses here have a tree crushed through their roof
We got power back in my neighborhood in simpsonville late last night..
@@dpixvid😢😢
May take weeks in some places, roads washed away along with power, water and sewer.
BEST part of your video: when you said: "I don't deserve any of this..." Now that kind of thinking is exactly why God put His hedge around you! You are definitely not the norm! Most people would cry out: "why Lord? Why me?"...But my friend you are absolutely correct...We don't deserve anything really! You are showing your viewers how to look at life correctly...Praise God for 1.4 million views in 5 days! Congrats! I currently live in God's country too (Central NY...) but I am from (age 1 til 35) Charlotte NC...born and raised just outside of the city in Concord NC...I've spent many summers up at Chimney Rock, etc...Been to the Biltmore House 3 times over the years!
This is why I prep. We also have antibiotics on hand just in case. Get with your doc and grab some extra to have on hand. Meds are a huge part of preps when SHTF.
The problem with people that go overboard with prepping is that when your house breaks apart and floats away, so do your preps.
@@barbaravyse660 *BINGO!* 222, is the number of dead in this recent storm -- I'm sure they did their best.
Many, presumably, know first aid and -- even professional contracting and woodworking.
I don't see this RUclipsr spitting out sea salt water from his lips -- only see a *prepared vantage-point documentary* with his *excursion exertion* for the lights, cameras, and Silicon Valley shine and sheen.
You Know what’s crazy, in a Hockeypodcast I heard that Asheville, Carolina was affected by a hurricane/storm and I immediately checked in on RUclips to see if you posted something that you are ok. All the best from Germany
May God turn all the victims pain into peace and joy very soon🙏
Amen 🙏
Cringe
Yikes! Good to know
Also please move AND keep your jerry cans AWAY from the generator when operating. It's a simple rule that can avoid an absolute catastrophe. Your situation is already compromised.....no need to complicate it!
Thank you for bringing awareness because I am here in FL and my heart is with everyone in NC ❤ I am so sorry for what everyone is going through.
As strange as it may sound, I would gladly find myself in your shoes. Right now, I'm in Kharkiv, and believe me, all troubles become more than relative when you look at them from here.
Yeah, when I watched this I was thinking the same. Stay safe.
This guy has massive resources; he is a have. Lot's of folks who do not who we are not currently able to hear from..
2004 and 2005 were really bad years for Florida, especially south FL.
This guy is my hero! What a planner, so grateful there are still people like that out there. God Bless you Sir ❤
YoDawg-v6l hopefully you use your gas and diesel fuel so it stays fresh
@@kevinbelanger4134 Yes we use the fuel on the regular here and refill as we need
How do you keep 200gals of gas? Did you bury a gas tank on your property?
@@ladyanntheog Its in a small storage fuel shed kept out of the weather elements. I believe mine is called a FuelCube. My neighbor has a red 100gal gravity fed gas tank. His sits in the air about 6ft on a steel platform. I spent more on protection with the one i have. Don't need to blow myself up :)
For food i don't see a full freezer as the best thing. I mean. Sure have it just because but in worst case I'd stand there with 20 lbs raw thawed meat and gotta make a fire now to eat it before it goes bad. Oats. Cheap, compact to store. Soak in some water , ideally hot and it's edible. No power needed no cooling needed.
Citizens are doing an amazing job informing the public via posts like this. We are praying for everyone. My family are in Chapin, SC and just lost power. They were lucky. We are shocked by the devastation. I live in Ireland now but spend a lot of time in the south when I am state side. The media have not covered this here in Ireland to show the utter heartbreaking loss of life, homes, businesses and infrastructure. God bless you all. Stay safe.
They’re not doing full coverage in the states, so can’t imagine they would elsewhere. 😢

at 9:33 when you said "I don't deserve this" I really felt that. :(
6:23 radio/ mesh networks might start becoming a must for these situations. If it is in range if driving with the gator I think one of those systems might reach
Wasn't Helium (LoRaWAN) supposed to do this?
@@MorryB I thought mashtastic was that
Just need some push to talk radios from Walmart. 20 mile range are perfect
@@wango556 Standard walkie talkies from the store only have a max range of about .5 miles, you should get a GMRS radio the license is pretty easy to obtain but has much-much farther range
in Finland government relies on hobbyist ham radio operators to setup a another network on top of the existing ones during disaster with QoS line priorities. It is tested and trained upon I think every 5 years?
Sending thoughts from Poland for safety and strength to everyone affected by the flooding. Stay safe!
this just pretty much changed my perspective regarding where I want to retire. Just because I live further inland...it doesn't mean I am "safe" from flooding. Currently live in Chesapeake VA for 10 years now.
Definitely a potential hurricane target. Last century we lived in Va Beach for a while. We were several miles in from the oceanfront but our lot was only about 3 feet above sea level. And next street over those houses had an inlet in their back yards. Have lived in Missouri for a couple decades now, so, mostly just succeeded in trading hurricanes for tornadoes and the New Madrid fault line. Droughts have happened both places. To quote a quote, it's always something.
I don’t watch or read much news, but I did enjoy/ appreciate this video.
Me and my husband have been fans for a long time and we live in Burnsville,NC and I just wanna say you are amazing sir. Thank you
I was shocked when I saw the flooding in Asheville. I live in Bradenton, FL and even with that I was flabbergasted
Extremely shocked, isn’t it mountainous there. What caused the flooding?
@@CoffeeCrazylarge watershed, more rain than anyone expected. plus because it was raining before Helene got to the area, major drainages were already blocked.
@CoffeeCrazy three things:
1. Mountains are cooler and when humid air reaches the mountains and cools down, water condenses out in the form of rain (and lots of it)
