I have come to the conclusion that we as luxury bag lovers, we are often influenced by others as to what we purchase. At the end of the day we are much better off if we only buy what is classic and will service us for many years. Contrary to popular opinion, handbags are not an investment unless they work for us for many years.

You have officially become my favorite RUclipsr, you are so down to earth and all your videos are interesting and well articulated:) I agree with you that Bottega is almost getting in the “fast designer fashion” category, with new bags/ shoes that are on every influencer for a few months and then they are replaced. It’s a shame that expensive brands do that, as I think it “cheapens” them. Vuitton is doing it too... Most people are on a limited budget and can’t keep up. I would be a bit sad if I bought a bag because I saw it on influencers and a few weeks later it’s already replaced by a new it-bag and nobody is wearing it anymore

I enjoyed your video very much Evelyn. I could understand why you sold it but It’s kinda sad you fell out of love with the Bottega Black Pouch. bc I remember when you got it. You went back with your mom if I remember to get it and you did an unboxing and I felt your excitement. It’s amazing how our minds can change when we see a bag everywhere and it becomes too mainstream. Good reminder for us to really make sure before buying.

Thank you for creating such a practical and honest video. Really appreciate your thoughts and simplicity in approaching these luxury items. I think what helps is that unlike a lot of people on the internet, this isn't your primary source of income, thereby allowing you to constantly share an unbiased opinion to real everyday human beings who, like you, mostly indulge in a handbag once or maximum twice a year. More power to you!

Always so sensible! 👏 I tend to buy pieces that feel classic for me - those that I can appreciate and enjoy for many years. Trends come and go so I usually admire those from afar. 😉 Thanks for another great video! 👍

First! 🤩 It's good to know which bags don't work as well as the ones that do. You look so incredibly polished (disobedient baby hair notwithstanding!), I love that black & white print on you! It's a shame the BV Pouch didn't work out, it's a fabulous piece and you styled it so well!

  • @alison8606
    @alison8606 4 года назад +1

Hi Evelyn! You can manage baby hairs by using a little bit of clear brow gel to comb them into place, a dab of pomade or hairspray could work too. Okay back to the video lol

  • @victoriarobben9725

The Oaui makes an amazing pomade that works well to smooth the fly always in place. But for the stubborn baby hairs clear brow gel works AMAZING!!

Thank you for sharing! I was honestly shocked when you bought the Bottega pouch. It is beautiful, but you seem like a fuss-free person! I completely agree with you - I want my bags to be easy to use and enjoy. This usually requires a top handle or crossbody strap 💜
I'm considering whether or not to buy my first Chanel, but I'm conflicted. I love the white caviar w/ gold hardware. They also have a muted red lambskin this season. I would love your opinion on versatility and durability? I love your channel because I can't go buying designer bags left and right, and I know you take your purchases seriously.

My dream bags are alma bb in epi noir (and add a bandoulier epi black strap) and a YSL small LouLou. I don't know why I'm obsessed with that bag lol - I love the light beige (either silver or gold hardware look good) or the white with silver hardwear. Or I could go classic black and silver heardwear. I'm just not a fan of YSL antique gold against black - looks a little cheap. I love LV gold but they don't do the epi leather with gold hardware 😭. First world problems 🤦‍♀️

Amazing video, thank you so much for making it, was thrilled to watch till the very end! I have sold my ysl toy Loulou and almost year after got it back in a different color (first was black, second is nude pink like the one Chase Amy is having) and don't want to part with it ever again. The reason was not the color though - I thought it is too similar to Chanel mini and will duplicate the purpose (and I am like you do not like to have anything more than I really need), which later I realized is so not. I don't have to babysit it so much as Chanel, it is spacious as you just mentioned, it is super durable and has more of a sport chic off duty vibe, when Chanel mini is more classic (captain obvious!). Find myself reaching for Loulou all the time, especially that nude color goes well on any season, maybe it is the best bag of all times for me on the value/quality/luxury feel combo. When I was considering re-buying it for the second time I have tried all the bags around this price range and nothing comes close. I recommend it so much! tried and approved! (twice haha).

Firstly, I love your hair even though baby hair can be annoying at times, still you look very good! And second of all you made me laugh out loud when you said that keeping the Bottega Veneta black pouch on your lap, felt like a dog was sitting there instead of a bag 😀 Too funny 😊 As always I found your video very interesting and helpful. Sharing experiences can really help making mistakes when buying a new bag. I am the same way, I don't buy a new bag every other day nor month, and when I make a purchase I want to ensure I am investing my money in a bag that can pass the test of time and that I can wear as much as I can. Keep on the good work Evelyn 🤗

I experience the same issue with the BV Pouch I own since 6 months. I wore it maybe 5 times since I own it. I'm still in discussions with myselfe to sell it but the bag is so beautiful😫 maybe one day when a bag crosses my life that is so practical and beautiful that I must buy it, I let the pouch go.

I resisted the BV large pouch and got a Mansur Gavriel Cloud Clutch instead; smaller, much cheaper (though not cheap), and easier to hold. I was very tempted on the Bottega, but something made me hold back. Whew.

I am not in the least bit surprised that you ended up selling your bottega bag. As a matter of fact I was surprised when you bought it. Beautiful as it was, it was not the kind of bag a savvy buyer like you invests in- impractical, not durable and not multi-functional. A good bag for the chase amies of this world who have 75 bags, but not for a chic geek 😉. I do hope you got at least much of your money back and I am glad someone agrees with me about the glorified supermarket bag (book tote). Way to go, Evelyn, you have the right instincts, and I love most of your stuff (read white Zimmerman blouse).

I've bought and sold SEVERAL "new Bottega" bags. They are so beautiful in editorial settings, but they often don't work with certain outfits OR are just not functional. The sizing is off, or the closures don't work well. The only one I still have is the mini Jodie. But I might sell that one too LOL. Also the Loewe Puzzle. It's so cool, but the price for the simplicity of the bag has always challenged me... Dior is actually close in price.

Your zebra blouse (or dress) has beautiful drape to it. It's very flattering.
    As to the hair:
There was a little girl, she had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. And when she was good, she was very, very good. But when she was bad, she was horrid! (From a Child's Garden of Verses, I believe.)

I have fallen into the Bottega Veneta The Pouch trap too, I was so in love with everything BV came up with but whenever I try them in the boutique it just don't suit me at all, don't suit my body frame, my fashion style. I adore the collections and all but I adore it from far away! I don't think I can pull it off no matter how stylish I can be or want to be, it is just not for me. I have bought the small pouch and I worn it once since then and never again, it is just sitting in it's box since that time I wore it, sadly it just don't work :(

I love your content and am learning a lot about luxury purchases. I haven't made any luxury purchases yet, and was was wondering if you can address in one of your videos what to begin with. I know I eventually want an off-white Channel classic bag, some LV boots, Balmain Blazer, and other items, but can't afford them all at one time, or even in one year. I want to have some classic items in my wardrobe and want to get started, but struggling with where to begin. I always look forward to your videos and can't wait for the next.
